Dear GMMR:

I’m a lawyer in my mid-fifties who considers himself an intellectual and somewhat grown up. But I have been so distressed and sad to learn that Veronica Mars will not be back. I just came across your interview with Jason D today and read it. It was great to see what a sincere, appreciative guy he is. Thanks for such a nice piece. I envy you so much that you got to spend a bit of time on the VM set. I wish the whole VM crowd nothing but the best. They have given me such pleasure over their all-too-short run.

And thank you for such a thoughtful interview. One point on the Logan character. I hope as Jason gets older he gets to appreciate what an overall good guy Logan was especially as Jason inhabited him. We fans knew that even though Piz was sweet and loving, Veronica belonged with Logan and Veronica was a pretty good judge of character. Logan’s mini-soliloquy on “Epic” alone was enough to redeem him as a character.

Thanks thanks thanks, i can only laugh at myself for being so sad over all this. If you ever get to talk to Rob Thomas again, remind him of the pleasure he gave so many of us.

here in France we’ve just started with season 2, and there’s already a huge number of fans addicted to VM ! it received many good reviews from the french press, also from serious papers, so I decided to have a look, and I got hooked !
thanks for this long interview, Jason sounds so sweet, natural and honest. he’s an amazing actor and took his character from spoiled brat to a very complex and lovable person. I agree with some people here that sometimes Logan really crossed the line and you’re telling yourself that you shouldn’t love this character so much, but hopefully it turns to be more complex than it was at first.
and it’s true Jason is not only truly handsome and charming, but he has in my opinion one of the most irresistible smile I ever saw !

Eeee! Okay, now that my moment of temporary insanity has passed… I loved the interview. It’s cool to just shoot the shit with mates, and to be able to just… trade banter with a cool actor in such a way is awesome.

I hate those interviews that drift away from interesting things into the whole “So… what brand of boxers do you wear, Jason?” Sure, the addicts (myself) would love to know… But.. that’s just fluff.

Love Jason Dohring, he has taken a character that could have easily just been this straight up villain, but he makes Logan vulnerable and accessible. You love him, every time he does something awful you think I should really stop liking him so much he’s crossed the line, but you just don’t care you kind of make allowances for Logan because Jason is such an emotional honest actor, you feel what Logan is feeling and you’re with him all the way. I love Veronica and all but for me it’s all about Logan! He makes the show!
