Battle of the Network Stars – The Band

Battle of the Network Stars

Forget Aerosmith, forget U2, you know the band I’m dying to see live?  Battle of the Network Stars. Never heard of ’em?  I bet you have. You might not see Scott Baio in a bandana, or Farah Fawcett in short shorts, but you will see some of TV’s hottest stars kickin’ in for charity.  Battle of the Network Stars is a band started by Greg Grunberg (Alias, Heroes), to help raise money for worthy charities. So who is jammin’ along side Grunberg?  Well how about his Alias co-star David Anders (vocals), House’s Hugh Laurie (keyboards), Desperate Housewives James Denton (guitar), and Boston Legal’s Bonnie Sommerville (vocals).

Don’t expect to see these guys playing at the local dive.  According to Grunberg they “charge an incredible amount of money to play corporate events”, but if it’s all going to charity, then it’s worth every dime.

That seems….cool, I guess. I always knew Bonnie Sommerville could sing since she contributed a track on the Garden State soundtrack

I always knew Grunberg was the coolest. 🙂

Man, I’d pay the big bucks they’re talking about just to see that. Well…if I had it.

They will be playing at the TV Guide post Emmy party. If you really want to go and don’t want to risk getting thrown out for crashing the party, TVGuide is running a contest in conjuction with something new on their website. The prize… at trip to the post Emmy party.

Watch the TV Guide channel or pick up a TV Guide for more info. I didn’t see anything on their site about it.

And Yes, I’d pay good money to see Hugh Laurie jammin’ on the keys!! He was great at their only othe performance (slightly different lineup and the band was named “16:9” back then) and Greg Grunberg and James Denton are certainly no slouches when it come to jammin’!
