Entourage’s Dom Bids Farewell…We Hope

July 3, 2006 by

The following contains spoilers for last night’s Entourage. If you haven’t seen it yet, you might want to stop reading right about now.

Ari and Lloyd form Entourage

The best part of last night’s Entourage came in the final minutes of the show when Vince, Eric, Turtle and Drama strutted their stuff into Ari’s office. Yup, Vince, Eric, Turtle and Drama. Noticed who was missing from the list? Dom!! Looks like Dom’s visit to Cali was short lived. And for that I am grateful. In case you missed it, here’s a super brief overview of what happened last night.

With Aquaman packing multiplexes across the world, it’s time for Vince to capitalize on his success and pick his next project. Ari informs his star client that the dream role of Pablo Escobar in “Medellin” is available, and all that Vince needs to do to land the role is to impress Phil Rubenstein, the film’s producer. The entire entourage attends a party at Rubenstein’s Santa Barbara mansion, but all of the goodwill that Vince earns is destroyed when a prized model of Shrek disappears from the producer’s house during the party. Suspicion immediately turns to Dominick, but the ex-con flatly denies the theft. Turtle, Drama and E don’t believe him, but Vince does, and he won’t waver in his support for his friend. “Medellin” is about to be totally derailed when Dom finally admits to lifting the doll during the party. The crew cut Dom loose and surreptitiously return the model, only to learn that there’s a new complication: “Aquaman 2” has been greenlit and is scheduled to start shooting — the same day as “Medellin.”

So glad to see Dom gone. He really messed up the vibe on the show. That being said, I think Dom’s presence did serve one purpose; he really highlighted how much Turtle (and to an extent, Drama) has grown since first landing in LA. If you think back, it was usually Turtle who was the bufoon of the group back in the day – not knowing how to act, and saying inappropriate things in front of the wrong people. But Turtle’s really grown up. Yeah, he still enjoys his hookers and booze (I mean who doesn’t), but I think he finally gets the “business” aspect of this life, and he knows better than to do anything to really embarass his boy Vinne. Our little Turtle is growing up. Aw.

I kinda liked the Dom character. He grew on me in his mini-arc.

He shows how Hollywood the four have become. He even says so directly. That said, I’m glad he’s gone.

    More Mrs. Ari!!!

So glad Dom is gone. All he wanted to do was leech off of Vince.

That and I was getting really tired of his “macho-er than thou” routine. Does the man own ONE button up shirt? Honestly.

It was a good storyline–but I’m glad that guy is gone.

I wish Vince would’ve been more pissed at Dom for stealing the Shrek doll though.

Oh man, I am so glad that “the Dominater” is gone! Can’t STAND him! Ruins the vibe of the fab four! And he stole that candy bar!!
