Pardon me if this has already been stated, but earlier someone mentions feeling as if John Krasinzki duped her by saying he was single when not. As the original article states, the image is from when he was in Jarhead. I didn’t see it, but a simple IMDB search tells me it was made in 2005, meaning it was probably shot in 2004. Either way, long before the summer of 2006 when he did these interviews. Why would he lie?

GMMR – I think you’re probably right – while I really don’t want any new *permanent* characters and hope that the new actors will all be just recurring, I do think the storyline will work. The writers are the best on TV, I think it’ll end up fine…

At first you go oooooooh, I’m not suuurrrreee……
ANd then you sober up and realize that you’ve gone trough hell with earlier loveinterests of both Jim an Pam’s and serious changes that seemed DANGEROUS, however it all worked out in the end anyway. And I’m so for a Jim love interest, no matter who the actress is(as long as she’s good of course) just to get Pam’s priorotis straight. Cos that man is not one to let slip away

i dont want to see any new actors in the office! why are they ruining the show? im pretty sure it wont be as good as before. best finish shooting than ruining it for more raitings. dont they understand we want to see only jim and pam together? i wont watch jim making out with another girl.

Considering John and Rashida have some kind of history, whether it be a bf/gf relationship or not, I think Jim and Rashida’s character developing a relationship on the show will hurt Jim and Pam like no other.
Obviously they are actors playing characters, but sometimes those lines cross a bit for me. I honestly don’t think John is as close with Jenna in real life as he is with Rashida, and seeing them together on the show will make me think, my God, maybe he is happier with the Rashida character than with Pam. Does anyone get what I mean?
(And now with Rashida and John working together everyday, a potential hook-up (gags) seems rather inevitable.)

I feel like another love interest is so far in the future, i mean don’t jim and pam have to figure things out? They kissed for god sakes, Jim can’t just leave and have another girlfriend after confessing his love for her. There has to be some confrontation between them, and that’s what i’m most excited about.

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and just relax.

I know I’m not the only one who thought that something drastic would have to happen after the season finale. The main reason many fans watch the show is to see the sexual tension between Pam and Jim. Taking that sexual tension away would leave the fans feeling happy for a while and then the program would start to lose viewers (Think “Gilmore Girls” after Lorelai told Luke she loved him).

The writers HAVE to change up the show for season 3. My guess is that Jim will move to the Stamford branch until the two branches merge. Pam will still talk to Jim on the phone until then. However, he will keep his relationship with other women quiet. When they are reunited she will see him with another woman and realize how she feels. This will allow the writers to keep the tension between the two exciting.

Must weigh in as a Rashida fan–I’m so excited she’d coming back to TV I searched out news on it and landed here:
I’ve seen John and Rashida (so sorry, but while I recognized her, I didn’t know he was til last year) around NYC, esp. at ASSCAT shows, and once at the Spotted Pig. I always just assumed they were dating; they just have that *feel* to them. It can’t be very long–she and Seth Meyes were dating til late winter 05–but they’re cute together.
And Rashida is a great actress, so I think she’ll be great addition to the cast.

I know nothing about this Rashida girl. But it seems to me that they have done such an amazing job with the show thusfar that we shouldn’t doubt their choices for future episodes. The minute that I saw Jim and Pam kiss at the end of the finale I knew that he was transferring. I actually am probably the only person on the planet that was not thrilled to see them kiss for that very reason.

As far as the fact that this girl is supposedly beautiful, Jenna and Angela are beautiful too and they do an excellent job making them look average on the show. So there.

Reading this made me dry heave for about 10 minutes. I am having hot flashes and I am a guy.

You know when you hear a commercial for medication and they warn you of all the side effects that could possibly happen…..I am experiencing all of those….sweaty palms, headaches, nausea, tar like stool, loss of feeling in all external body parts and heart attack.

I can’t stand the idea of some new bozos coming in. I am happy with the bozos that we have right now. That is all we need. All of the new people are like 3 little sharks…and everybody knows how much I love the show.

I agree w/ mg714. I like where we’re at right now w/ the cast and i’m not too excited about seeing any new faces. It worked for the UK Office, but only b/c the original cast was around for 6 eps (first season) and then the new faces popped up in the second season. So it didn’t have as much character development that it really affect the cast to have new people join. But we’ve grown to love the characters we’ve got and i’m not up for meeting anyone new. Oh, but i do love Chip, though

Oh, and about the whole Jim issue. I figured this was going to happen, especially if they’re basing it loosely on the UK Office. However, now that you say it’s JK’s real girlfriend, makes me a little sad. Ah well. Despite her being his girlfriend doesn’t change the fact that Pam will always be Jim’s number one on The Office (even if it IS hard for me to see Jim w/ anyone else other than Pam).

This seriously just killed my day. Something about Rashida Jones irks me, its irked me since the first time I saw her on Freaks and Geeks, and given that it has been rumoured that she is dating John, it will totally take me out of the show. I have no real opposition to Jim getting a girlfriend (as long as he ends up with Pam somehow in the end), but Rashida doesn’t look right for the environment of the show, and it will just annoy the hell out of me. Any other actress but her! I mean, I loved Amy Adams on the show. Plus, I love the solid cast now, and I don’t really want any additions, especially if they are going to be featured on the show a lot. I hope these (Except Rashida who I hope they’ll realize is a casting mistake like Ana Lucia on Lost) people are more like Todd Packard, and only on a few episodes.

Rashida isn’t likeable to me, no offense if other people are fans. Every other person on that show seems so down to earth and nice and relatable in real life, and she’d pretty much ruin it.

I’m kind of opposed to having any new people be added as regulars – I really love the group as it is and it’s kind of like why are they having these “outsiders” come in? I do hope all the new characters are at the Stamford office though. It would make more sense b/c why would the Scranton office be hiring more people when they’ve been struggling financially?

But I’m more “upset” at the possibility that Jim will be moving on to someone else after that amazing season finale w/ Pam! Esp. if that actress is JK’s real life girlfriend!

I’m not totally opposed to Jim dating someone else, esp if it helps Pam figure out her true feelings (a la Dawn/Tim/Rachel), but casting Rashida is the tough part.

And again, nothing against her…I’m sure she is great. But seeing those two together on screen could really take me out of it.

This fits with the BBC series timeline, a bit. Tim dated another blonde in the office for a few weeks and was even caught by Dawn snogging the new GF in a back room or hallway or something. It’s great for ratcheting up the sexual tension and making Pam think about what she’s missing out on.
