The cast of NBC’s The Office was in Pasadena this weekend to accept the Television Critics Association awards for BEST COMEDY and BEST ACTOR IN A COMEDY for Steve Carell.  YAY for The Office!!  Bravo my friends, bravo.  Emmys…we’re coming for you next.

Check out these great pics from the awards.  And be prepared to swoon….

I’ll try to post more about the TCA Awards later on today.  But I’m on vacation in the middle of nowhere, so it’s not that easy to get online.  As painful as it was to get online, I just had to post this news today.

As much as it saddens me to leave you, I’m going to take some time off and head to New Hampshire for a little R&R, and I’m bringing along the ultimate GMMR Friday Boy Toys (I mean, you don’t want me to be bored, do you?)

I don’t think I’ll have access to this great world wide web while I’m there, so it might be a few days before we get to chat. But don’t worry…I’m leaving you in capable hands.

So You Think You Can Dance

Tonight we had to say goodbye to two more fab dancers on So You Think You Can Dance. One was a given, and the other a little more shocking. As predicted we said goodbye to Martha. Yeah, she was over and just couldn’t hold her own up against the other talents. But in the suprise twist of the night, Dimitry and his pecs were sent home before Ryan and his biceps. I tought Dimitry would have had more votes from horny soccer moms across America, but I guess I was wrong.

Oh, and someone PLEASE put Natalie on Xanax. That girl will not stop crying. There’s got to be a back story there. Any by BACK story, I mean maybe Travis wasn’t the one hurt after all.

I accidentally erased it after watching it the first time, so can someone tell me if Natalie danced in the opening number? I don’t think I saw her there. Hmmm…you’re SUSPECT!!

UPDATE: GMMR reader Jess was on hand for the taping last night.  Natalie was not in the opening number as she hurt her knee last week.  Ok, now I feel bad about making fun of her sobbing.  I mean I don’t feel horrible or anything, she was blubbering on national TV.

Jess also mentioned that EVERYONE was shocked when Dimitry’s name was called.  So was I honey…so was I.

Oh and it was nice to see Wade Robson. God how I wish MTV would bring back the Wade Robson Experiment…pop…bam…goo-ga. That was a fun show.

So You Think You Can Dance Wore Me Out

Comments Off on So You Think You Can Dance Wore Me Out

I am drained today. Two hours of So You Think You Can Dance can do that to a girl. It seriously was the longest two hours of my life. With new partners, two routines, and a solo dance, the contestants maybe have bid a tad more tired than me, but they worked it out. Well most of them anyway.

I didn’t bother to write a recap. Sorry. But I knew Ducky was going to, and I just didn’t have it in me. We were practically watching the show together, and as always we had the same take pretty much everything.

Travis and Cousin Heidi’s second dance was crazy…I mean C-R-A-Z-Y!!! I wish I had a clip to show you, but no such luck.

I’m so looking forward to Ryan and Martha getting booted tonight.

GMMR’s Six Degree of TV Fame Game

July 20, 2006 by

If you’ve heard of Kevin Bacon then you probably already know the rules. I’m going to throw out a TV actor/actress and another actor & you have to link the two together using 6 MOVIES or less. Once you have successfully linked the pair, YOU can suggest the next challenge.

Remember…one of the actors MUST be on TV.

Oh, and I’m not taking ANY responses in the comments section. It’s happening over in the GMMR forums. The forums have been WAY to quiet as of late, so I think it’s up to me to get people talking again. Once you’ve responded, spend some time lurking around in the forums. I think you’ll find some great threads going, and some really nice people.
If you think you can handle it, click here for the GMMR’s Six Degree of TV Fame Game

I’ve thrown down the gauntlet with the first challenge. Connect my top TV boyfriends…John Krasinski and Josh Jackson!!!

Game Updates….

Maddysmom took the first challenge, and issued another….Jenna Fischer and Vin Diesel…and GO!

Lis just took this last one, and offered us a Rainn Wilson – Ewan McGregor challenge. These are TOUGH. Keep ’em going.

Maddysmom is on a roll taking another one. She let me choose the next one. So I give you Patrick Dempsey & Julia Roberts.

Mrs_Echolls chimed in with the first right answer and countered with Scott Wolf and Matthew Fox.

You people are on FIYAH!!! Squashy just connected the ex-Po5ers, and challenged you all with Johnny Depp and Steve Carell.

Ok, I clearly can’t keep up, so just head on in there and congratulate the people for their wins!!  You people are good.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner did good. Check out these pictures of the adorable Violet Affleck taken earlier this week at Logan Airport in Boston.

The Affleck’s have spent the summer here in Boston while Ben is directing “Gone, Baby, Gone”. US Weekly is reporting that Ben and Jen have decided that it’s time to leave Hollywood behind and make the permanent move to Cambridge, MA which is Ben’s hometown. You know what that means? Jennifer Garner and I will share the same mall 🙂 Hope to see you around the Galleria Sydney Bristow.

And as for the rumors that Jen is preggs with baby #2? I just don’t see it. She doesn’t look very pregnant to me.

Veronica Mars Cast at the TCAs

Kristen Bell, Ryan Hansen, Enrico Colantoni, Veronica Mars

Check out the Veronica Mars hotness from the TCA press tour in Cali. Veronica Mars stars Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Enrico Colantoni (Keith Mars), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), and show creator Rob Thomas were on hand for all the fesitivites. Hmmm, who is missing?! Oh right…Jason Dohring. I know Jason was there, but how come we don’t have any pics of him on the red carpet or at the parties? Someone should tell his publicist that we need to see a little more of J. Dog (he he).

Kristen looks gorgeous, per usual, and the men of Neptune are looking pretty fine as well. You know how I love Dick (Casablancas), and Ryan Hansen seems to be getting hotter and hotter with each passing day. Although seeing that wedding ring on his finger does put a damper on things a wee bit. I’m not sure what it is by Ryan definitely looks different in these pics*. Did he get taller? Lose weight? Was this impact of Cassidy’s death too much on our boy? Anyway you look at it…it’s all good.
Just sit back and enjoy…more Veronica Mars goodness coming your way soon.

Give Me My Remote

Let’s grab that remote and see what is happening in the TV world….

There’s so much TCA (Television Critics Association) gossip going around that I can hardly keep up. If you want the latest and greatest, check out my favorite “legit” TV reporters Maureen Ryan, Kristin Veitch, & Michael Ausiello. It’s my dream of dreams to be live-blogging along side these people next year.
*****************************
NBC is offering Netflix subscribers the chance to check out some of their hot fall shows, including Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Kidnapped starting in early August. With so many pilots being “leaked” online, and the studios making their pilots available a month before the actually air, I’m interested in the impact on the ratings. This is a whole new ballgame. (The TV Addict and Watch With Intellligence)

*****************************

Oh where, oh where have all the Camdens gone? Well, I actually hoped and prayed that we would never have to see any of those 7th Heaven-ers again, but they had the power of God on their side. I can’t compete with that. Who is coming back to entertain the red states, and who is not? (Dlisted)

*****************************

I was heading out to lunch yesterday when Ducky called me to say that he ran into Stephen Colletti. Now that is what I call a nice day. (DuckyxDale)

*****************************

Love ’em or hate ’em, Rob and Amber aren’t going anywhere. The reality show stars are coming back to TV in “The Rob and Amber Project”. You know what? Amber (or Ambah as she’s know around these parts) I can leave or take, but Boston Rob…I don’t know…there’s something about him that intrigues me. Could be the Red Sox cap…who knows. (Variety)

*****************************

I haven’t been posting as much as I would like lately, especially in light of all the news that is coming from the TCA press tour. But I am here…and I have some good stuff to share, so keep checking back throughout the day for more TV goodness including…

  • Pics of your favorite CW dudes and dudettes from this week’s red carpet bash
  • News on why Lost could get lost if you don’t pay attention
  • A recap of the latest and greatest happenings in Neptune, because really, it’s been too long since we’ve chatted about Veronica Mars

Oh and for fans of The Office, I got ALL your emails, and found some time to pull together a few of the t-shirt designs you requested. Here you go… Team Halpert, Scrantonicity World Tour, Dinkin’ Flicka, That’s What She Said

There’s also some new GMMR stuff in there, not that I expect that any of you would want it, but what the hell, right?

Rescue Me Recap (Satisfaction)

Rescue Me

Title: “Satisfaction”
Original airdate: July 18, 2006

The station. The porn police are scouring the firehouse for contraband, and Chief rails on them for doing useless work. He gives a speech about how the crew is all heroes and defends their right to do whatever they want in the firehouse as long as they save lives. When the porn police leave, finding no porn, Chief discovers the crew’s stash…in the truck.

Colleen and Tommy at the counselor’s office. Tommy explains how he’s already covered the behavioral issues with Colleen, who then dismisses the counselor’s attempt to help process her grief. After Colleen storms out, Tommy asks the counselor what could be behind “Colleen’s” crying jags. When the counselor suggests it might be survivor’s guilt, Tommy is intrigued.

The guys bring up how the $1850 from the smoking can is missing. They think it might’ve been stolen…maybe by those dastardly porn police.

As Franco and Tommy clear out furniture from a fire, Franco mentions how he dropped off some of Keela’s things at Alicia’s, and it seems nice for her there. He also notes how someone saw the chief working at a bar. Though initially Tommy doesn’t want to go by the bar, worried he might embarrass the chief, he changes his mind when the chief yells at them for slacking off.

Big Brother SPOILERS

The following contains spoilers about Big Brother: All Stars. Only continue reading if you want to know.

Big Brother All Star Houseguests

Big Brother: All Stars expert, Queen TV, is back with the dish on what the houseguests have been up to during the week. I am SO glad that Queen TV is watching the live BB feeds, because if I had to, I would have already been fired from my job.

So here’s the low down on what’s going on in that whacky house. For more on Big Brother spoilers, head over to Queen TV’s site.

Big Brother 7: Week 2 Recap

On Thursday’s live show we saw Alison get booted by a vote of 8-2. The ones who voted for Danielle were Nakomis and Diane. Remember this, it may become important later. Alison gave the fakest interview seen in years and then Kaysar won head of household which was back to the single version for this week.

Friday began with a food competition. Teams were broken up to two sets of six each with the HOH Kaysar getting to join the winning team with food privileges for the week. The red team was Jase, George, Will, Diane, Boogie and Erika while the blue team was Howie, Janelle, Marcellas, James, Nakomis and Danielle. The game was to pick out 12 fake plastic rats from a trough of “slop” in the fastest time. The red team won regular food for the week and the blue team gets treated to eating slop, which is a mushy protein oatmeal type substance.

Nominations were also revealed on Friday. Kaysar didn’t surprise many by putting Diane and Nakomis on the block. No real talk yet of who the house is gunning for but I suspect Diane has more friends and will get some of the boys to keep her in the house. That and BB6 seems more threatened by Nakomis anyway.

The power of veto competition was held on Saturday. The game was some sort of oversized golf challenge and Erika won. Early speculation is that Erika will not use the veto but some of the other BB6 alliance want Erika to use it and then put up Boogie or Will in hopes that BB6 can get a deal with one side or the other. Usually these complicated plans don’t pan out but I’ll keep you posted once the POV ceremony is complete.

Monday the power of veto ceremony was held and no suprise it was that Erika did not use the POV. At this time it looks like Diane might be on the way out because Nakomis is really working hard to save her butt. But there is still a lot of discussion about who to vote for. As it stands now the decision is pretty much up in the air.

My Name is GMMR and I Love Kelly Clarkson

I’m 30 years old, and I will proudly admit that last night I went to the Kelly Clarkson concert. She was incredible. Her voice is amazing, and the show was a blast. My friends and I may have been the oldest people at the concert (oh wait, Ducky was there and he is older than me..and yes, he is going to KILL me for sharing that with you). It was a fabulous time, but I am a little wiped out today. It might be the combination of the booze, the ridiculous amounts of singing/dancing, and the HOURS it took to get out of the parking lot and to my house. God I am OLD!!!

Anyway, we had great seats…just 6 rows from the stage, and I even got a little high five from Ms. Clarkson herself when she came down the aisle during “Since U Been Gone”.

I know it’s a bit of a stretch to share this with you on a TV blog, but hey…where did Kelly Clarkson get her start?!

UPDATE: If you want a taste of what I saw last night, check out these video clips that were taken during the concert last night.

What Would You Ask Rainn Wilson?

Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute on NBC's The OfficeWe’ve got another GMMR Exclusive coming your way. Yesterday, I got an email from Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute, The Office), and it looks like we will be chatting it up later this week. As I do with all my interviews, I wanted to open it up to all of you. Is there anything you would like to ask Rainn Wilson? Let’s go for thoughtful and unique here peeps. So no “have you ever worked in an office”, or “is Rainn really your name?”-type questions.

Time is of the essence, so if you have any questions…let me know as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Just wanted to let you know that the timing for my interview with Rainn has moved.  Although he and I had discussed talking this week, I think we are going to wait until a bit closer to the start of Season 3.  To be honest, I am personally thrilled.  By that time, Rainn will have back on set for over a month, & I think we will get more “Office” gossip from him. Keep the questions coming though.

Scranton Summers: The Office Toons

The Office Cartoon, Scranton Summers, Jim and Pam

Back by POPULAR demand, Scranton Summers: The Office Toons. Once again Meg has outdone herself. I seriously can’t imagine having this level of talent. Round of applause for Meg!!!!After such a great response for her first cartoon, Meg wanted to say a special thanks to all of you!!!

From Meg…

I just want to thank everyone for their kind welcome and comments. These characters have so much to pull from (and so many characters to draw, yikes!) it’s hard to decide where to start. But the hardest part is getting anywhere close to matching wits with the show. This here is for all the JAM fans out there (myself included). It’s impossible to be satisfied with a caricature when they mean so much to you, so I’m gonna keep refining these two. The highlight is *having* to stare at John Krasinski for hours at a time as reference, ha. And I gotta thank GMMR for proposing this whole business in the first place. Genius, this woman. The things we do to get us through summer hiatus. Thanks again!

If you like Meg’s Office ‘toons, send her an email and let her know.
