Grey's Anatomy Star TR Knight Comes Out

Another one bites the dust.  Just as in true life, all the cutest and most talented men turn out to play for the other team.  So is the case for Grey’s Anatomy star TR Knight who plays Dr. George O’Malley, who just today confirmed to People Magazine that he is gay.

“I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I’d like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there,” Knight tells PEOPLE in a statement. “While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I’m gay isn’t the most interesting part of me.”

Nope, actually the fact that TR is gay has no bearing on anything is my book.  He rocks the role of the sweet and sensitive doctor, and that has NOTHING to do with his sexuality.  I’m just glad he told us, because that’s ONE less TV boyfriend I have to worry about.

Apparently the National Enquirer is saying that Isaiah Washington called TR the “F” word and thats the reason why Patrick Dempsey came to his defense, thus starting the fight from last week. I don’t think its true, but of course the NE had to jump on this story and make something up.

Thanks for posting! I don’t think anything more or less of him–he hails from MN like me!

I’v heard the same story from a few different outlets. Who knows if it’s true or not, but if it is….shame on Isaiah Washington for his ignorance.

TR Knight is a great actor, and I dig him on Grey’s. End of story.

    Agreed!!!

He’s absolutely fabulous on the show…I honestly have never heard chatter about him being gay or anything, so this was news to me.

Same here. I hadn’t heard any gay rumours, maybe because I’m not a huge gossip girl, but I’m still proud of him for coming out.
And only a little bit sad, because I love him and as a result this makes me Grace Adler.

Herad the rumors before and am a little surprised at the news, but I agree with everyone here – whatever his personal life is shouldn’t change the fact that he’s great as George. Also agree with GMMR that, though I still love TR on Grey’s, at least it makes my TV future husband list a little more manageable! 😉

He is still the lovable, wonderful, man of my dreams George. A great actor and most certainly a stand up guy. Nothing has changed! And I’m willing to beat down anyone who says otherwise.

I don’t care which way he bats, he’s adorable and fantastic on Greys!

Ditto to what everyone else has said. He is a great actor and makes the perfect George, who is my perfect man (next to Jim Halpert, of course).

NOOOOOOO!!!!! I have a crush on him!!! My two gay friends Tye and Eric were cracking up when they heard because they called it a year ago…I am heartbroken, but I still LOVE George, no matter what! 🙂

I am gay, and I also called it the first season, even though they made him into str8 boy. Yep, this is really no news to me but I admire the dude for coming out. Sweet! I am in the process as well…literally like a huge weight lifting off the shoulders.

Wow. Just… wow. I’m suprised, but damn, I should’ve caught that one. I can definitely see it though…

Eh, no biggie. He’s a good actor and it won’t change how I see him. I think it’s cool that he decided to come out.

May he rot in hell. Queer.

Sorry I was channeling Fred Phelps for a second.

The big story is Isaiah Washington’s ignorance – you would think that sexuality would not be an issue – too bad that Isaiah is a biggot. TR’s sexuality doesn’t effect my opinion of him as a person or an actor, but ignorance is a fatal flaw.

I kind of thought George would turn out to be gay, but then they hooked him up with the new girl doc, who, by the way, is WAY hotter then the stick figures that make up most of the female cast members. Good for him for having the courage to say, “Hey, this is me”.

Don’t you have to wonder about all male actors anyway….I mean there is a need for attention there that non-thesbian men don’t require
