Rainn Wilson on SNL

February 25, 2007 by Give Me My Remote

Rainn Wilson was FANTASTIC on SNL last night. And I’m not even being biased because he’s on my favorite show. I laughed my ass off. The opening monologue had me rolling - the SNL regulars as the cast of The Office was spot on. And did anyone else find it creepy how much Jason Sudekis looked like John Krasinski? Check it out below. Also, if anyone finds the Tarantino-esque sketch with the 4 guys singing in the bar, send it along…I loved that one.

that monologue was genius! I haven’t watched SNL in a long time, so I don’t know if it’s always like this, but it seemed like they would have a really funny sketch going but then ran out of steam and didn’t know how to end it. like the one in the office where they’re trying to cut expenses - it was hilarious until the end. oh well. overall it was still pretty funny.

The “Office” skit was genius. :)

I thought it was scary how much Jason Sedeikis and Kristen Wiig had the Jim and Pam characters down pat.

And of course, by scary, I mean frickin awesome! :)

I loved the Digital Short. Thinking about it makes me laugh. Captian Pajama Shark? Present.

I think I blacked out from laughing when Jason made a Jim face. It was too precious. I now find Jason Sudeikis extremely attractive.

I love how they slipped Rashida Jones in there like it was nothing unusual. Yeah Kristen’s Pam was great. but I’ll take Leslie David Parker over Kenan.

Yeah Jason Sudeikis looks a lotlike John. Actually, I had this huge crush on him ever since he a cast member and when I first saw “The Office” I was like…”Hey that one guy looks like Jason, I think I’ll start watching the show.” So seeing Jason play Jim was a real trip for me. HAHA

Sudeikis made a nice cameo in 30 Rock last week.

I didn’t care much for the four guys in a bar sketch (except when Rainn says, “I laughed so hard his pee came out my nose!”), and what little I stayed awake for made me feel like it was the “Rainn Wilson surrounded by much less funny people” show. That’s based on the first third of the show though, so I’ll reserve judgement on the rest.

Yeah, wow, Rainn was slumming it on SNL…the fact that the Office based skit was the best one kind of says something. Kirsten Wiig was freakishly spot on as Pam…too bad they didn’t have Seth Myers as Ryan; he could play a smarmy bastard well I think. Great Jim-looks!

My husband noticed during Weekend Update that Seth Meyers looks alot like BJ Novak. They should have had him in the opening skit as well!

you know, since it was snl, I was kind of waiting to see kristen and jason parody the jam romance. was anyone else waiting to see them jump on top of each other and make out or something?

I had to rewind my tape to look at Jason and Kristen in the opening credits because they looked SO much like Jim and Pam. That was my favorite part of the whole show.

We lost power Saturday night and I missed Rainn hosting. Thanks for posting this!!!

By far, the best part of the night with the “The Office” parody. ‘Jim’ and ‘Pam’ were GREAT!! Jim’s faces to the camera were perfect, perfect, perfect. I could barely catch my breath for laughing so hard during that scene. The actor even had Jim’s mannerisms and voice inflections down pat! I, too, was waiting on some kind of reference to the Jim & Pam romance.

The guy who played Stanley (sorry, I never watch SNL anymore so I don’t know who anyone is) was ok but he could have done a lot better. Lorne’s last look to the camera was a perfect Michael impression too! I loved how they had a talking head!

I could have done with a whole hour of an “Office” parody. Other than the opening with The Situation Room, the rest of the show was not funny.

This episode of SNL was a breath of fresh air for a show that has been moldy for a few years. :)

Hoepfully they can keep it strong.

“Sudeikis made a nice cameo in 30 Rock last week”

I don’t usually find Jason Sudeikis overwhelmingly attractive but he was very handsome on 30 Rock.

I absolutely LOVED The Office opening! Sudeikis DID do a great job (i practically laughed my pants off at his Jim face!), and Kristen did an excellent job, too. Unfortunately that seemed to be the only good thing about the show–i thought the rest of the show was boring and i didn’t laugh much at all. I was disappointed. This crew can be so hilarious, and of course Rainn is funny as well, but the writing on the sketches just…sucked. And i agree w/ whoever said that Seth Meyers should have done Ryan in the opening sketch: that would have been perfect! I was also hoping they would make fun of the Jim/Pam romance and have them make out or something along those lines =P Anyway, thanks for posting! I could watch this skit over and over again.

what was the song at the bar? it was catchy, and the whole memories skit (the four guys in a bar sketch) was just like the adam sandler cd track “Memory Lane” But WHAT WAS THE SONG????????????

  18. Shannon on February 28th, 2007 9:53 pm

The song in the skit with the four guys was “Danny’s song”. It goes like “And even though we ain’t got money, I’m so in love with you honey..” Maybe I have a crude sense of humor, but I loved that skit. “For the first time in my life I thought, ‘I have a dad,’ not ‘I have a dad with down syndrome’.”
