George & Izzie Made Me Cry

I know there are those of you out there that just aren’t fans of Grey’s Anatomy. You are a small number but you do exist. I’m not sure why you don’t like the show, but I respect that you don’t. I for one LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. I mean, I really love it. I’ll dork out right now and tell you that last night I said out loud “Oh my God, I love this show” not once, but twice…to no one but my empty apartment. The writing, the acting – everything.
This scene from last night’s episode had me bawling my eyes out. It took me a few minutes to recover. I wasn’t keen on the whole George/Izzie hook-up last week. And I still don’t love the fact that he’s married. But I never thought I would actually buy it that George and Izzie could love each other as more than friends. But this scene…this scene damn near killed me.

That scene got to me too!
I too love this show, and I believe that the writers have a plan for each of the characters, and I look forward to seeing how the story lines progress. I personally really like the idea of Izzie and George being together, (although not the George is married part) They already have such a strong relationship, it just didnt have the sex part, until now..
I really liked the linen closet scene with them, so much was said without any words…
Ok. I love the show, and i love George and Izzie, but they are NOT meant to be together. I was literally nauseous when i was watching this scene last night. just now i had to look away when i played the clip. There’s something almost incestuous about them being together, its just wrong. Not to mention the fact that he’s MARRIED to a woman thats been nothing but wonderful to him, oh boy….
So true GMMR! Beautifully acted…I love how there were no words but you could just tell how conflicted they were!
In other show news…was it just me, or was Alexis’ new assistant on Ugly Betty the same guy who played the young Sandy Cohen in the flashback episode? Play sandy cohen once and your career takes off!
Someone needs to give T.R. Knight an Emmy now. He’s been fantastic all season.

Loved it!!!! Last night I was so happy/sad in that scene, and I love how Izzie put her hand on his face, and then they hold hands for nearly 2 seconds…..wonderful acting….
I KNOW! sigh. and ditto to the “emmy for TR” comment. (=
I am the minority. I do not watch this show.
And there is one reason behind it – I can’t stand Ellen P – I can’t watch her, and her acting ability is non-existant.
That and I am over McDreamy, though he is appealing, I have never been a “bandwagoner” when it comes to him.
With that said, I think the rest of the cast is outstanding. And if they had actually killed her off last month, I might have started watching.

What I loved most about that scene is the way it parallel’s last season’s George/Meredith fiasco. When he was on top of Meredith he was smiling and she started wailing. In this scene he looks at her and she looks back at him and smiles warmly. And that smile gives a lot away, like no one, especially them, knew it was meant to be.
I’ve always wanted to see George/Izzie together so I’m way thrilled.
Alexis’ assistant on Ugly Betty was also Leo from Veronica Mars…among other things.
Hey Kathy! That was the best part of the show last night. It was so well acted. It was torture to watch, in a good way. I didn’t think I’d like Gizzie either but they made it work. So good, so very good. The closet scene was gut wrenching. Wow.
I was amazed by how much this scene made me completely rethink my stance on Gizzie. It felt so forced last week and then last night I got goosebumps. I even went back and watched that scene three times on the abc.com viewer and I never do that! I also then promptly bought the song that was playing in the background on ITunes (which is “Still Alright” by Adam Merrin, btw).
OMG I’ve always had an Izzie/George shipper from the start because they’re so cute together & I love knowing that T.R. & Katherine are best friends on set so I definitely love them together.
I really think that I hated Callie at first because she would somehow come between George & Izzie. (which she did) However, I do feel sorry for Callie now.
Did anyone think they were going to just full on makeout in the room? lol I was literally screaming out “DON’T KISS! OMG THEY’RE GONNA KISS! NO DONT!”
I’ve been a Gizzie shipper from the start! They always seemed so right for each other. That scene with them in the linnen closet definitely made me cry. I just wish that George wasn’t married when they finally got together. I don’t like Callie, but after George’s meeting with Callie’s dad, I think he’s going to have a hard time leaving her for Izzie (which I totally think he should).
But seriously, all this adultery is kind of getting on my nerves! Is there anyone at Seattle Grace who didn’t cheat on their husband/wife??
Angela, thank you! I was looking all over itunes for that song. Isn’t there a link on itunes for all the Grey’s songs besides the soundtrack ones? I found it once but now I can’t find it.
I’ve been anti-George/Izzie for a long time. And I hate this storyline. That said, T.R. and Katherine almost sold me on it last night. Almost. Fantastic acting by the two of them. I still want Iz with Alex, though. And Callie so does not deserve this.
I HATE HATE HATE George and Izzie together! That is all.
The YouTube video is no longer available, so I can’t comment on it. Grey’s Anatomy used to be one of my must-see shows. I used to think it was so funny and smart. I stopped watching it this season. I couldn’t stand the soap opera-ish storylines anymore. I got tired of all of the characters sleeping with and/or cheating on each other. The writing wasn’t as funny anymore, and I stopped caring about the characters. So thanks, Kath, for acknowledging the minority!

I’ve been a gizzie shipper since the pilot…but was desilusional and thought it would never actually happen…but now they give me the most touvhin scene on television EVER…the closet scene speaks for itself…AMAZINGLY well acted…kudos for Kathy and TR!!
Eww. I agree sarah. izzle and george is gross. even their couple name “gizzie” sounds like a disease lol. “i’ve got gizzie”, eww sounds serious lol
While I’m not really a fan of George and Izzie being together, you can’t deny TR and Katherine’s chemistry. I just wish Callie didn’t have to be hurt. I actually like her a lot.
Also, that picture of the two of them together? Quite possibly my favorite ever.
omg,i love gizzie so much! i have my heart set on this since season numero uno!! woot, seriously….some people need to just drive over to T.R’s house and present him with an emmy..and if not, im gunna steal one for him..he is SO amazing….woot!
