The Office Thursday on Give Me My Remote

March 29, 2007 by

We are T-minus one week away from an all new episode of The Office. To get us properly excited for next week’s show, your favorite and mine – Paul Lieberstein – will be hosting an Office marathon tonight. I’m so excited to go back and revisit some of my favorite episodes. If you are a spoiler whore (like myself) then check out Yahoo! TV for scenes from next week’s all new ep.

On a sadder note, I believe Season 3 of The Office has officially wrapped. What a long strange trip its been. It’s sad to think that the Dunder Mifflinites aren’t on set filming new episodes for us Even more scary is the prospect that the Season 3 fate of Jim and Pam is known to a select few. Since John wrapped earlier than most of the cast whatever goes down with JAM has been set in stone. To Greg Daniels and crew…we dealt with Stamford, we dealt with Karen (when we thought she would be gone after 10 eps), and we even dealt with Pam briefly returning to Roy. We’ve stuck by you all season so please give us a happy ending to help us get through the summer. That is all.

On to The Office Thursday where Michael Scott is the funniest man alive and where comments are like the coins Dwight puts into the vending maching to get his desk supplies back.

Tonight on The Office…
Toby MARATHON! Toby (Paul Lieberstein) hosts an Office marathon featuring some of the worst HR nightmares from Dunder Mifflin (that had to be a tough choice):

Diversity Day (the show that started by insane love for all things Dunder Mifflin)
Despite creating the need for a diversity seminar, Michael feels he’s the best candidate to run one, which he does after the facilitator leaves.Health Care (because Meredith still has a vagina)
Michael promises a surprise to distract the troops from Dwight’s dictatorial choosing of a cut-rate health-care plan

Sexual Harassment (Phyllis and her one night stand – what a floozy)
Michael fears a review of the company’s sexual-harassment policies will curb the conviviality that he believes exists in the office.

The Injury (you burnt YOUR foot on a George Foreman grill)
Michael tries to get extra sympathy from his staff after he burns his foot on a portable cooking grill. Dwight emerges as the primary caregiver—to Michael’s chagrin.

Gay Witch Hunt (we meet Karen and Andy while my heart breaks for Jam)
A sensitivity firestorm ensues when Michael heedlessly outs a gay Dunder Mifflin employee. Meanwhile, some details about Jim and Pam’s complicated relationship come to light.

Evan Almighty…
Evan Almighty The long awaited trailer for Steve Carell’s new blockbuster comedy, Evan Almighty, is going to premiere tonight during The Office marathon. Not sure when it’s going to run, but you’ll be watching the whole marathon anyway, so I’m sure you’ll catch it.

From the Desk of Meredith Palmer…
meredith1.jpgAlright STOP, collaborate and listen Kate is back with a brand new…um, blog? Yes she is. Kate doesn’t have any inside scoop on the upcoming episodes but we do find out how she spends her free time – going to big movie premieres and handing out awards. If you are in Los Angeles, then head over to IO West and check out Kate in The Lampshades on April 7th – you’ll have a blast. (Kate’s Blog)

Blades of Glory Premiere…
Jenna Fischer’s new movie Blades of Glory had its L.A. premiere last night, and most of the Scranton branch was there to support her. This movie is going to be huge and I’m so excited for Jenna. We are so happy for you Fancy New Beesly!! Check out some pics from the premiere.

I also stumbled upon this video from last night’s premiere. It’s poorly produced and not all that entertaining, but it does feature the cast of The Office so it’s worth checking out.

More of Rashida in TV Guide…
rashida.png It seems every week I’m talking about how sexy Rashida Jones is. Listen, she’s the “It” girl right now. Not my fault if people are talking about her. Here’s a few more pics of Rashida from TV Guide’s Sexiest Stars party. So listen, I live in Red Sox t-shirts and jeans, so I’m not one to talk, but I don’t understand why Rashida always wears those ill fitting dresses. I’m not suggesting she has to dress like a sex kitten 24/7 in spandex (although I know some of you wouldn’t mind), but she’s got a rockin’ bod and her clothes very rarely do anything for her. That being said, if that’s what she feels most comfortable in then so be it. She’s obviously doing something right. But doesn’t she look cuter in the pic above from the Blades of Glory premiere?

Mandy Moore Knows her John Krasinski Trivia…
ltw.jpgAs expected Mandy Moore is a full blown JKras hussy. Can you blame her? As John’s co-star in the upcoming License to Wed, Mandy got to know John pretty well while they were on the set. Here’s Part 3 of a recent radio interview where the hosts play a little John Krasinski trivia with Mandy. I was impressed, although how did you not know he went to Brown? Come on Moore! I particularly enjoyed the part where Mandy talks about the fact that John was NOT single during filming. Interesting. (Mandy on John…TWSS! The Office Video of The Week…
Since this week’s installment of The Office Thursday is rather short, I thought I’d treat you with not one, not two, but three Office videos of the week.

46 seconds of Jim Halpert (there’s many a joke to be made here, but I’m just going to skip them all and get right to the aptly titled video)

The Top 10 Cold Opens (what are your favorite cold opens? I think I might have to go with “The Injury” as my favorite – it’s just too hard to choose)

    This is me on Thursdays:

    1) Go to GMMR

    2) Click F5 every spare moment of the day until…

    3) I see ‘Office Thursdays’

    4) Make a sound like ‘Eeeeee!’ and do jazz hands.

  2. Rayne on March 29th, 2007 11:55 am

    Thanks GMMR!

Wow.. even the hosts on that video were lame.

  3. CrazyGringa on March 29th, 2007 11:55 am

I love Office Thursdays! Good stuff!

  4. sarah on March 29th, 2007 12:32 pm

Hey GMMR, did you see the article in USA today?? Apparently they shot TWO endings for the seaons finale!! Hummm………

  5. kari on March 29th, 2007 1:41 pm

Man, I just watched all the top ten cold opens and my stomach hurts from laughing. I’ve seen them all so many times but they never get old. The Secret was a great choice for number one. Jim’s “so close” is brillant.

Rashida and Jenna look AMAZING at the BoG premiere. Stunning. I can’t get over how great they look since they both tend to be hit-and-miss. They dropped a deuce on eveyone!

  6. Tori Weber on March 29th, 2007 2:12 pm

One ending involved a copier… and the other one didn’t.

    I just made that up.

  7. Jacqui on March 29th, 2007 2:28 pm

From USA Today, “Heder’s love interest is played by Jenna Fischer, who was joined by a gaggle of her co-stars from NBC’s The Office. Earlier that day, the cast shot two different endings for their season finale, which Fischer says involves something life changing for Michael (Steve Carell) and Jan (Melora Hardin).”

    Interesting!

  8. Saul on March 29th, 2007 2:39 pm

uhhh…so its either a baby for Michael and Jan…or they are trying to trick us into thinking its a baby.

  9. Rayne on March 29th, 2007 2:50 pm

Those darn tricksters. But I hope they’re having a baby.

  10. jujube on March 29th, 2007 2:57 pm

So, is the filming of licence to wed the time frame that John and Rashida were dating? I think it is. I thought it was much later than that cuz wasn’t she dating Seth Myers in early ’06 too?

  11. Jen on March 29th, 2007 3:20 pm

I would have beaten Mandy in that Triva. Pathetic? Maybe.

    ONE WEEK EVERYONE! wahoo!

  12. Carly on March 29th, 2007 5:00 pm

john and rashida were so going out.
oddly.. im not that bothered by it anymore.

  13. Clare on March 29th, 2007 7:33 pm

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

    *jazz hands*

  14. Meagan on March 29th, 2007 10:17 pm

The top 10 was definitely awesome. Except I think I laughed the most at #10.

Have you been watching October Road? I love this show. I know it’s just one more thing to watch on Thursdays, but you can always tivo or catch up on abc.com. I think it’s worth it.

  15. Crystal on March 30th, 2007 5:25 am

I’m crying foul! My 2 favorites were omitted: “The Client”‘s cold opening, ie: Michael and his fun jeans and “Grief Counseling,” Michael’s “trips to the wherehouse”.

  16. Clare on March 30th, 2007 1:50 pm

Total word on the “Grief Counseling” cold open Crystal. That one was funny. Watching the old episodes just killed me, seasons 1 and 2 were a thing of beauty. I’d forgotten just how much we are missing this season.
