90210 Reunion on Dancing with the Stars

90210 Reunion on Dancing with the Stars

Supporting former co-star Ian Ziering on DANCING WITH THE STARS were members of West Beverly High Class of 1993. Yup, Brandon, Kelly and Donna Martin were all in the audience during tonight’s episode.  This made me more giddy than it should.  Andrea Zuckerman was there a few weeks ago. But what about David Silver and Dylan McKay? And any chance will see the “adults” make an appearance?  It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Nat from the Peach Pit and of course Jim and Cindy Walsh.

Ellen DeGeneres to Host Show from her Hospital Bed

Posted on Monday 30 April 2007

Poor Ellen DeGeneres. While trying to lift her dog this past weekend she injured her back to the point that she was put on full bed rest. Being the consummate professional that she is Ellen has said the show must go on - even if that means she has to host her Emmy winning talk show from a hospital bed on the stage.

About her recently injury Ellen said: “I tore a ligament and did something to something else. That’s what happened and they said that I’m not able to sit, to move or to do anything.”

Guests who will talk to Ellen from her bedside include Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan.

“This is not a sweeps stunt or anything like that. This is not like what Regis (Philbin) did – that whole bypass surgery.” said DeGeneres.

GET WELL SOON, ELLEN!!!

Will THE OFFICE be One Hour Long? (TWSS)

Will THE OFFICE be One Hour Long? (TWSS)

Thankfully Ashton Kutcher has nothing to do with CNNMoney.com, because if he did I would surely think this was an elaborate punk.  In a great article about the life and career of NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker it is mentioned that Zucker and Kevin Reilly are considering expanding THE OFFICE to one hour each week?!  Seriously, the best news I’ve heard all day.

At NBC’s “upfront” presentation to advertisers on May 14, Zucker says he expects NBC to unveil five new programs - three dramas, one comedy, and one reality show - for its fall schedule. Zucker and Reilly are considering stretching The Office to an hour and canceling the original Law & Order.  (Source)

Now before we start planning a party (and it would be a Scranton party, cause a Scranton party don’t stop) let me just say that as you can see from the quote, Zucker & Reilly are “considering” this move.  Nothing is set in stone.  But come on already….do you think they would float it out there if there wasn’t something to it?

It was this time last year that we were delivering our petition to supersize the season finale of THE OFFICE to NBC.  It was our way of begging them to expand the show to 40 minutes.  And yet in the third season not only did we have numerous supersized episode, but we are treated to two hour long eps (’ A Benihana Christmas’ and the upcoming season finale).  Also with the number of deleted scenes that appear on NBC.com during the week following a new episode, it’s clear that THE OFFICE has more than just a half hour program in there.

I’m personally thrilled with this news.  Moderating a live OFFICE chat every week I can tell you that just when the show really gets going it feels like it’s almost over. I know that there are going to be purists out there saying that they should leave THE OFFICE as is.  I want to go on the record to say I’m NOT a purist.  If I can get one hour of my favorite show then gimme, gimme, gimme!

I hope that Zucker and Reilly make this happen.  I’m not going to go crazy and start a petition or anything, but leave a comment and let them know that we want…no need THE OFFICE to be an hour each week.

Thanks to eyegypt for the tip

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Season Finale Teasers

Posted on Monday 30 April 2007

The following contains spoilers for the season finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. Don’t worry, I’m not giving away the ending, but I am going to spill some stuff that you spoiler virgins might want to avoid.

I came home on Saturday to find the two-part season finale of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER waiting patiently in my mailbox. Unlike other screeners, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to dive right into this one or not. With all the rumors floating around about HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER being on the bubble, I wasn’t sure if I wanted the show to end sooner than it had to. But alas, I have no willpower and I watched the final two episodes last night.

So what can I tell you…hmmm.

I can share that we finally get to see the marriage of Lily and Marshall. The impending nuptials have been in the planning stage since season one, and now we get to see first hand Lily and Marshall’s perfect day. Um, wait…did I say perfect? I meant really great day…or maybe I should just say their good day or…screw it - it was a complete disaster. As is often the case in life, the more planned the more the unplanned takes center stage. But just as true is the beauty and there is perfection in those unplanned moments.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER FINALE - Lily and Marshall

While Marshall is dealing with a major hair crisis, Lily is trying to remain calm and cheerful while dealing with a harp player in labor, a ruined veil, and a jealous ex hell bent on ruining the day (and that’s just to name a few). Meanwhile as Barney adds to his repertoire of ways to hit on women, Robin and Ted do what they do best - keep everything and everyone under control.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Expecting

Posted on Monday 30 April 2007

Elisabeth Hasselbeck ExpectingSeems that the ladies over at THE VIEW have something to talk about these days other than Rosie, Rosie, Rosie. This morning co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck announced that she and her husband are expecting their second child.

This morning, co-host Rosie O’Donnell asked: “I was just wondering if there’s anything new, Elisabeth?”

“Um, just a couple things,” replied Hasselbeck. “Like, I’m totally three months pregnant.” Like really, Elisabeth? Like totally? Ah the voice of the generation.

I figured that we’re going to be lonely without you,” Hasselbeck said to O’Donnell, who is leaving the show at the end of the season. “So, Tim and I thought we should get busy and maybe make a little co-host.” Perhaps this baby will be as loud and whiny as Rosie has been at times.

Elisabeth is due in November and the new baby will be greeted by mommy, daddy and sister Grace.

For the Love of TiVo…

Posted on Monday 30 April 2007

done.jpg

I finally made it back to the East Coast LATE Saturday night. Although I spent most of the day yesterday spending some QT with my folks I did play a little catch up on the TiVo. Here’s my two second take on what I watched this weekend and what’s in the queue for tonight.

Ugly Betty - I missed Thursday’s episode since I was on a plane. Another great Ugly Betty. I love me some Henry and Betty. Are they not the cutest? I’ve decided that I don’t like Amanda with other man - she should only be with Marc. By any chance is anyone else bored with the Alexis storyline? I’m not sure anything new ever happens? We always seem to get the (a) Alexis is tough as nails storyline followed by the (b) Alexis softens when she feels like she’s being accepted by others, and (c) someone does something to slight Alexis and she vows revenge. It’s getting a little boring. Oh, and sorry but every time I look at Rebecca Romijn, I forget that she’s a woman and not a transsexual - I’m not sure that’s what she was hoping for.

The Amazing Race - Charla & Mirna, The Beauty Queens, and Eric & Danielle are the final three teams racing for $1M?? Really? I wish someone would have told me that during episode 1 so I could have skipped this season all together. My Oswald and Danny were kicked to the curb last night. At this point I’m hoping that Charla wins…not Mirna, just Charla. Charla is out there proving something every single day - it’s quite impressive (and this coming from a cold and cynical bitch like me).

Entourage - We all know that Justin brought sexy back, but I’m hoping Entourage brings the funny back. I only watched last night’s episode once, so I can’t fairly judge it. It’s not that I didn’t like the show, but I love my Entourage really quotable (and that usually requires Lloyd). At this point, screw Ari…I think I’m the one that needs to go into therapy - I miss Ari and Vince.

Shhh…don’t tell me!

I haven’t yet watched last night’s Brothers & Sisters, so don’t spoil me ok?

Andy and four of the six remaining bachelorettes visit an L.A. elementary school, where they get down and dirty for a good cause: rebuilding a playground for kindergartners. Andy also spends time with all six aboard his yacht.

Dancing with the Stars
Seventh-round competition includes a ballroom dance and a Latin dance from each couple. With Heather and the leg gone I’m not sure what I’m doing even watching the show. Ian Ziering isn’t stepping up his game like I need him to. It’s coming down to Joey Fatone and Apollo Ono (who is a great dancer but irks me to no end).

Don’t forget that NBC.com is airing NEW episodes of The Black Donnellys every Monday at 9pm.

New THE OFFICE T-shirts, Mugs, and More…

Posted on Saturday 28 April 2007

Ask and ye shall receive…I’ve received a number of emails asking when I was going to be adding some new designs to the GMMR Store.  Well, today I had a little bit of time and I have added two more* (courtesy of this week’s episode of THE OFFICE). Click here for all designs and styles.

“Lord, BEER ME Strength” - THE OFFICE t-shirts and merchandise “Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica”, THE OFFICE t-shirts and merchandise

I put out the call for new designs a few weeks back and I got a lot of fantastic ideas and designs.  I’m going to be going through them this week and then let YOU decide which ones I should add to the GMMR Store.  As always, please feel free to send me any ideas you have for new designs.

Stuff inspired by THE OFFICE are the big sellers.  I have other shows represented in the store but they don’t sell as well of Dunder Mifflin related items.  But I’m on a big push to get more shows in there, so start collecting ideas and quotes from your OTHER favorite shows.

* We’ve got mugs, mousepads, magnets, coasters, and a bunch of t-shirts in all styles and colors.

STUDIO 60 is Coming Back to NBC

Posted on Saturday 28 April 2007

STUDIO 60 is Coming Back to NBC

Just when you thought all hope was lost….

NBC is bringing back STUDIO 60! The remaining episodes of the season (and come on let’s face it…series) will begin airing on May 24th at 10pm, coincidentally the day after May sweeps ends. Yes, another schedule change, but oddly enough Thursdays nights is where NBC wanted STUDIO 60 to live originally. The show got moved to Mondays only after ABC decided to schedule powerhouse Grey’s Anatomy against it. If you remember, STUDIO 60 was the marked to be a major hit for NBC, so much so that ABC counter-programmed it with their top show. Funny how things work out.

It has its flaws but I’ve been pretty vocal about my love for STUDIO 60. I really enjoyed the show earlier in the season when the focus was more on the behind-the-scenes happenings and antics with a hint of romance thrown in. In later episodes Aaron Sorkin flipped the switch and made the inter-office romances the focal point, and the inner workings of the late night comedy show almost seem to be swept to the side. I’m not sure to to expect from the new episodes. I know I’m going to enjoy them because it’s going to be the last of them.

30 Rock Season Finale Recap: Hiatus

Posted on Friday 27 April 2007

Well before we get into Brian’s recap of the season finale of 30 Rock, I just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU to Brian for bringing us these recaps week in and week out. 30 Rock is back because of fans like YOU who encourage others (myself included) to give the show a shot. So thanks for a great recapping season. I’m so grateful.

Big round of applause for Brian (and my applause I mean comments)

Title: Hiatus
Original Airdate: April 26, 2007
GMMR Recapper: Brian

When last we left the folks on the set of TGS, Fliz was on the rocks, Tracy was on the lam and Alec Baldwin was experiencing a sudden and unexpected career meltdown. What a difference a week doesn’t necessarily make.

The aptly titled season finale of what I’ve taken to calling The Funniest Show on Television snuck up on me. I blame NBC’s schedule shuffling, which resulted when the network gave up on Andy Barker, P.I. almost as soon as it hit the airwaves. The original plan was for 30 Rock to wrap up in the more finale-appropriate month of May. Well, consider sweeps under way.

Reinforcing the show’s recent trend toward continuing storylines, we open with a montage of “last week on 30 Rock” scenes before cutting to Jack and Liz’s (Baldwin and Tina Fey) respective medical checkups with Dr. Spaceman (Chris Parnell) and a kinda cute Rachael Dratch as Fey’s doc. Both scenarios evolve into advice for the lovelorn sessions.
