Scrubs, The Office, Ugly Betty, & Friday Night Lights Win Peabody Awards

Some of the best of what TV has to offer was honored earlier today with the prestigious Peabody Award. The Peabody Award “recognizes distinguished achievement and meritorious service by radio and television networks, stations, producing organizations, cable television organizations and individuals.”

[The] George Foster Peabody Awards are often cited as the most prestigious awards in electronic media. Each year, from more than one thousand entries, the Peabody Board selects outstanding works exhibiting excellence, distinguished achievement, and meritorious service by radio and television networks, stations, cable television organizations, producing organizations, and individuals.

This year some of the top shows on television. Recognized as the top entertainment series were: Friday Night Lights (NBC), Brotherhood (Showtime), Ugly Betty (ABC), Scrubs (NBC) and The Office (NBC). Not a bad list to be a part of…not bad at all.
