T.R. Knight Returns to GREY’S ANATOMY

TR Knight

As the season finale of GREY’S ANATOMY came to a close, the fate of Drs. George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) and Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) were unknown. With George failing his intern test, and Preston leaving Christina and his home it was uncertain if either actor would return to Seattle Grace…or Grey’s Anatomy for that matter. Neither Knight or Washington had contracts in place at the end of this season leaving many people to wonder if there would be an on-screen fall out resulting from the sad off-screen happenings between these two men. But Grey’s fans can rest easy, because it has been confirmed that T.R. Knight will be returning as a series regular to Grey’s Anatomy in the Fall. And not only is he returning but he’s going to be much richer for it.

Knight has been given a hefty raise that will bring his per-episode take home to just around $125,000 and additionally Knight will also receive compensation based on the show’s profits. A similar contract is in place for co-stars Patrick Demspey, Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh.

I wasn’t really nervous that T.R. wouldn’t be returning, but I feel better knowing that it’s definitely happening. Now we have to wait to hear about Knight’s co-star Katherine Heigl whose contract negotiations with ABC have not gone so smoothly. Making things more difficult could be Heigl’s new box office hit “Knocked Up”. I have a feeling things will work themselves out. “Katherine loves playing Dr. Izzie Stevens,” her publicist said yesterday. “She is grateful to all the ‘Grey’s’ fans for their support, and she is hoping ABC will recognize her value and worth.

Let’s be honest, Heigl may have a hit on her hands with her latest movie, but I think she could use a little more time on GREY’S to establish herself as part of the Hollywood elite.

As for Isaiah Washington…no clue on how that one is going to turn out.

    WOOOOOT!

I’ve been ranting and raving to the people at my gym that if TR Knight doesn’t come back next year that I would refuse to watch. I’m so happy I get to be admitted to Seattle Grace again. (Ba-dum-dum – yeah, horrible joke.) Especially since I didn’t start watching until halfway through this season and spent all that time watching the dvd’s of the first two.

As a person I want Isaiah Washington gone but as a tv watcher I want Dr Burke to stay. I’m so torn. Oh well. I’ll leave the drama for the big box in front of me.

Good for T.R., Patrick, Sandra and Ellen. Katherine TOTALLY deserves more $$ and it’s only fair, since her co-workers are getting a nice chunk of change, too.

Good for him. But I’m completely over Grey’s. Its gone the way of Desperate Housewives where it was a smash hit and then just started to lose steam (and my interest). I’ll be spending my Thursdays with the ever dependable Office. 🙂

I’m glad T.R. got what he deserved. I hope there is some way Heigl and ABC/Touchstone can work themselves out to a compromise because she not be Hollywood elite…yet(she is slowly getting there by working her butt off). She does deserve compenstation of what she brings to the show, and Grey’s got some free promotion out of her due to her hit movie.

I wouldn’t say Heigl has a hit on her hands… I’d say Judd Apatow has a hit on his hands, and maybe Seth Rogen. She was just fine in the movie, but none of the humor came from her character.

None of them really deserve all that money for acting. But if they can get it then good on them.
