I just saw License to Wed. It was not that great of a movie and had some weak points in the plot. BUT it had John Krasinski for the entire movie, so totally worth my $9.25. I might just have to buy the movie on DVD because of JKras.

saw it opening day- love JK, and it was so nice to see him on the big screen, and in almost every scene! i noticed a lot of his facial expressions were very jim-esque. they were some young girls behind me squealing when he came onscreen. i was alone, so i had to squeal inside to myself! i think JK is a born romantic comedy lead- i hope he gets a better script next time around.

i saw this opening night – and i went TO see it. it was FANTASTIC. what a cute and light comedy. it was really hilarous with a continuous storyline. that little kid was GREAT. it was really a great movie. the critics DO NOT know what they are talking about. i dont listen to critics anyhow. i really loved this movie – much better than the crap i have recently seen.

Saw it with my sister and thought it was cute. Loved John, of course. It was really funny though – every time there was an Office cameo, half the theater would gasp and say the character’s name. “Kelly!” “Kevin!” “Angela!” Guess the audience was full of Office fans!

My sister and I didn’t go in with high expectations and we thought it was good. It’s not going to win any awards, but there were some pretty funny parts. As I expected John was funny and cute.

i saw it in a packed theatre.
it was heard to even find two seats together.
but all in all i agree.
the movie was average, but with that much screen time of our lovely john how could i not be smiling the whole time!
AND my friend completely feel in love with him! which made my night.

i loved all of the office cameos [made my smile even widder]
the only negative thing was that i feel like i watched so many trailers that i had already seen half the movie. i probably would have enjoyed the movie more if i could have resisted all the trailers. but im weak. :]
and i knew those had to be his parents. he looks so much like his dad!

Saw it last night with another office flan here in Boston. (Wasn’t sure how to reach you GMMR, as I would have liked to join up with you) The theater was about 3/4 full with most of the movie goers heading over to Transformers. Tough day to open what with it the eve of a huge holiday and the biggest summer blockbuster opening. I didn’t mind having JKras to ourselves, though.

I thought it was all around adorkable. Not oscar material but very cute and well worth the money for uninterrupted JKras viewing time

Nothing like a family cookout on the opening weekend of your critically panned movie to keep you grounded, I guess. Only thing that saves him is that his parents are in the movie as well.

I wholeheartedly agree with both GMMR and Laura. I saw the movie earlier today, and yeah, it wasn’t great. But it didn’t totally suck either, and it was well worth seeing because our beloved John Krasinski is officially the most adorable thing that has ever existed in the universe. Seriously, he’s ridiculously lovable/crush-worthy. I thoroughly enjoyed watching him on the big screen for an hour and forty minutes, and I’d see License to Wed again just for that reason. In fact, I probably will.

I agree, GMMR. It’s not exactly a stellar script, but I think the actors did a good job with what they had. It was so fun to see the many “Office” castmates and, of course, John was very easy to watch for 100 minutes. (I especially loved the jeans and white t-shirt look towards the end!) My recommendation is to keep your expectations moderate and hope to be pleasantly surprised. There were about 40 people in the theater with me, and many of them laughed consistently throughout the show.

On a somewhat related note, I did see “Evan Almighty” over the weekend and had my expectations well surpassed! So get out there and support both of these movies and our beloved Office friends!

Ok kids- just got back from seeing LICENSE TO WED. The movie wasn’t that great BUT if you are a full-fledged John Kraisnski fan then it’s going to be hard for you NOT to love it. I had a big ‘ol grin on my face from beginning to the end of the movie. I forgave a lot of bad plot points and went with it because I got lost in watching JKras on the big screen. That being said, it really wasn’t THAT horrible. I found myself (and the others in the audience) laughing out loud at times.

It’s honestly an hour and a half of John Krasinski….I’d pay way more than $7.50 for that!

Can I just say how excited I am to see this movie? We are going to see it tomorrow and I don’t see how this movie can do any wrong. I mean John on a huge screen for an hour and a half is going to make this married woman turn into a 12 year old fan girl. I hope my hubby understands ;o)

My husband agreed to go see it with me tomorrow when we both have the day off (mostly because Robin Williams is in it, but I’ll make a JK fan out of him yet) as long as I agreed to see Bruce Willis’ newest Die Hard installment with him. I’m not really looking forward to that, but marriage is all about diplomacy and compromise, right?? I’m at least guaranteed a good nap if nothing else. Who knows, I may even like it. Nah, probably not.

Enjoy! You really can’t trust a 50 year old male’s review of this movie. I believe the reviews that say it is 90 mins of mindless fun with actors you like and, oh, btw, there are a few laughs to boot.

I had free passes to see this Thursday and was all set to see the sneak preview, but couldn’t make it due to a death, but some of my friends went and they (guys) said it was really good. I always say if the critics give it bad ratings, I’m really going to love the movie. There are very few movies I agree with the critics about.
