What to Watch…Saturday, September 1, 2007 – FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

NBC is airing three of the best episodes of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS in a mini-marathon starting at 8/7c tonight. For those of you who aren’t yet convinced that FNL is the best drama on TV or for those of you who already know of the beauty and genius of this show, tune in tonight and enjoy.
And make sure you come back to GMMR next week because a little birdie has told me that we might have a few FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHT Season One DVDs to giveaway.
“Mud Bowl” @ 8/7c
With the state semifinals state looming, an unforeseen event leaves the town – and the game’s venue – in a state of flux. Jason mentors Matt and finds a future in coaching.
Tyra Collette: Just wish I could build a time machine and go back and shoot who ever it is that invented Algebra, that’s for sure.
Landry Clarke: Well, see, that’s kind of a Catch-22, though, because in order to invent that time machine you may need to use Algebra.

Coach considers the TMU job, Tim befriends his neighbors, and Landry grows closer to Tyra.

Oh, man. I’ve been devouring the DVD set since getting it Tuesday. This is such a great show…I hope it does well in the second season.
I’m so glad you kept suggesting this show. I didn’t watch it during the season- but I bought the DVD on Wednesday. I’ve been watching it non-stop. It’s an amazing show!
Yes, I was loving the marathon tonight. Oh, and those 3 sneak previews rocked! When that ass-hat rapist punched Landry, I was like, “hell no!” and then Landry was gonna bust him w/ that bottle…oh man!
Can’t wait for the new season!
I didn’t watch the marathon but we’ve been watching the DVD we bought. We’re barely on the second DVD and we are loving it so far. My husband went into this not wanting to watch it, saying it would be just like another Varsity Blues or something, but he hasn’t said anything negative since we started watching it. So far, so good!
CrazyGringa, I’m glad you are getting into it. I envy you, experiencing FNL for the first time. Man, you’re in for a great treat as you get farther into it.

Yeah, we are really enjoying it. That is one thing I love about missing a whole season of a show. You can buy the season DVD and then you don’t have to wait a week for a new episode because they are all new to you and you can watch as many in as you like in a row!
