So Say We All: YOUR Take on Monday Night TV

September 25, 2007 by

gmmr_logo_large_working.pngWhat a week it’s been already and it’s only Tuesday morning. I’m actually in LA right now and as much fun as I’m having, it’s putting a wrench in this whole TV watching/blogging thing that I do. I’d be lying if I was saying that I wasn’t a tad bit overwhelmed just trying to keep up, but I’ll do what I can.  Just stick with me, ok?

Just because I’m not finding enough hours in the day to write about each new show, it doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear what YOU think. So what did you think of Monday night’s big premieres?

Did you catch The BIG BANG THEORY or JOURNEYMAN? If so, what did you think? Are these shows you’re going to check out again? Should your fellow GMMRers use their TiVo space for these new shows or are they DOA?

And as always, feel free to chit chat about your returning favorites including HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (still haven’t seen in yet…so sad), PRISON BREAK (I was at a party with T-Bag last night, and no matter how nice he is, he still creeps me out), HEROES (it’s killing me that I’m going to have to wait a few days to see this one) or any of the other shows that premiered last night.

Man, I loved Journeyman. Which surprised me, because time travel usually just stresses me out. I’d explain, but you’d just think I’m weird. 🙂

    All I watched was CBS
    HIMYM – still awesome
Big Bang Theory – Yeah, a few minutes in I hated it. Why did I keep watching? I have no idea
Two and A Half Men – I think my brain cells were dead, and I was too lazy to change the channel.

That’s all I watched, and HIMYM is all I will probably watch on Mondays

I missed out on Journeyman, though I meant to watch. Hopefully I didn’t miss out on too much that the 2nd episode won’t be a complete mystery.

I watched HIMYM (oh, how i’ve missed this show, amazing episode) and Big Bang (I hated it), Heroes (thought it was wonderful) and taped Prison Break, Chuck and Journeyman. I’ll watch Prison Break, Chuck and Journeyman tonight since there is only one show I’m interested in watching tonight.

I watched HIMYM (oh, how i’ve missed this show, amazing episode) and Big Bang (I hated it, why can’t Class come back?), Heroes (thought it was wonderful) and taped Prison Break, Chuck and Journeyman. I’ll watch Prison Break, Chuck and Journeyman tonight since there is only one show I’m interested in watching tonight.

HIMYM is back! Oh it was missed. Big Bang was alright, but I’ll be shocked if it makes it to S2. Heroes was….well…Heroes…which is to say, slightly slow and lots of new mystery.

T-Bag!!!??? You met T-Bag??!! I loooooooove T-Bag, he’s the best thing about PB. And yes, so very, very creepy. “Picture makes me look like a sociopath” hahahaha.

Watched (and loved) HIMYM of course, my favorite show, then kept Big Bang Theory on while waiting for Heroes to start. You were so right — a big ‘ugh’ on that BBT. Luckily, the other nerd-centric show I watched (Chuck) was awesome! And Heroes was pretty good too, although I don’t get as obsessed about it as a lot of people.

My thoughts are kind of spoilery and I don’t know if you want to be spoiled so… if you do, you can click to read it on my blog:

You got to meet T-Bag? Thats freaking awesome! I am just getting hooked on Prison Break…i am part way through the Season 2 dvds and I LOVE IT! Tell me more about T-Bag…did you talk to him? what is he like? I am so impressed with his acting and watching the commentarys and listening to how he developed his character. awesome.

HIMYM started off strong last night. Mandy Moore and Enrique were hilarious. The one thing I want for S3 of HIMYM is a Bob Barker return! Big Bang Theory just doesn’t work for me, probably won’t make it to S2.

I love that you get to go to all these fun TV events, GMMR. I’d love to have an opportunity to go to something like that one day – I’m sure you’re having a great time and definitely get us all the good scoop!

As for my TV viewing last night, I watched HIMYM (loved it and I’m glad we at least got a glimpse – kind of – at the mother), then I saw the last half of Chuck, since I already watched the premiere from Amazon. Next was Heroes – I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode and I think I fell in love with David Anders all over again! I didn’t watch Journeyman but if people start saying it’s worth catching I may try to watch it next week. I taped Prison Break and have to watch that and last week’s premiere at some point. Mondays are really going to be just too full with TV!

What did I watch? Prison Break – of course – it’s actually getting better! I loved that you could feel Michael vibrating with tension almost the entire episode. Heros – should be good. It was mostly catchup so far…I watched Chuck (loved it) and Journeyman (loved it too) On Demand so that was easy. Caught a little of the Bachelor – he’s really cute but appointment TV? Not so much. I am curious as to how long it will take me to stop watching some of these shows.

  14. silsont on September 25th, 2007 2:02 pm

I LOVED Journeyman! It reminds me of Quantum Leap, but not nearly as cheesy. I am loving this time traveling love triangle. It should be a fun series if it doesn’t get cancelled.

    Possible SPOILERS:

Oh, and how powerful was that final scene with the ring.

  15. Lauren on September 25th, 2007 2:05 pm

Watched Heroes and How I Met Your Mother–I had never seen HIMYM before but I tvioed because a ton of my friends (and of course GMMR) all recommended it! LOVED it so far-I need to get my hands on the earlier seasons! Heroes was very good too, I wasn’t expecting it to be really high energy, but just start setting up the season which it did! And there were some interesting twists/mysteries/new characters introduced. OH, and did anyone else think that HRG’s new boss was channeling Dwight Shrute? LOL!

“Chuck” sunk for me, but I actually enjoyed “The Big Bang Theory.” I’m probably alone on this, but between “Big Bang” and “Kid Nation,” I finally have a reason to watch CBS.
“Heroes,” as always, rocked. This season’s premiere seemed to have picked up a lot more steam since last season’s pilot.
“Journeyman” looked promising, but I just could not get into it.

  17. Sus on September 25th, 2007 2:37 pm

Apparently I’m the black sheep here but I just feel like HIMYM is not funny anymore. Maybe it’s just me. In fact, it probably is. I wish I’d watched Chuck instead. I hope they stream it online.

As for Heroes…squeee!!!! I’m so glad David Anders is back on television. And whoo…the last five minutes saw my jaw hit the floor.

    Monday Night-

Dancing with the Stars started last night. I watched some of it. I was most impressed with Sabrina from the Cheetah Girls and Mel B.

Chuck was awesome. I am so happy to finally be able to watch the show after seeing so much advertisement for it. It was funny and kept my interest. I will be TiVo-ing it this year!

Heroes finally came back! Yay! I just got into this show when it was released on DVD so I am excited to be watching all new episdoes. I wish we could have learned more about some of the other characters though. I hated how Peter was not around until the last 2 minutes. I liked the premiere, but it needed to be longer or something. I need more than just an hour of that show!

Journeyman – I actually saw the premiere episode about two weeks ago when I was flying home from Hawaii and I didn’t like it then, I watched again last night and still couldn’t stand the show. I won’t be watching it.

  19. samsmom on September 25th, 2007 3:09 pm

I watched HIMYM. Great show. I got into it during the summer after reading about it on GMMR. Journeyman was surprisingly good. I wasn’t going watch but The Bachelor was really boring so I switched to Journeyman. I take it the premise will be him going throughout time to save people while trying to figure out why his ex-fiance isn’t dead?

  20. Tania on September 25th, 2007 11:49 pm

OK, I watched HIMYM and it was definitely legen… wait for it… dary! I laughed out loud a lot. Such a great cast. For the next half hour, I flipped between DWTS and Chuck… they were both pretty entertaining. Next, I indulged in one guilty pleasure after another. First, the series finale of The Pickup Artist on VH1. Second, a new episode of The Hills. It was a long, but great TV night!

  21. Merrie on September 26th, 2007 4:57 pm

I had to work Monday night, so I just watched HIMYM and loved it. I am a huge fan of this show and it’s hard to say why I love it because episodes can start slow and then be so awesome, or start great and end kind of ‘eh’, but I’ll still be happy no matter what. As for Monday night’s episode, loved it! I can’t tell you why, but I laughed out loud several times. I’m interested to find out what they do with the slap bet this year.
