Wade Robson on Dancing with the Stars (Video)

October 17, 2007 by

The brilliant dancer/choreographer Wade Robson brought his unique style of dance to DANCING WITH THE STARS last night. As I mentioned yesterday I was a little disappointed that Wade would bother with Dancing with the Stars given his affiliation with SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, but I guess at the end of the day it’s all about the dancing.

And I think it was good for DwtS fans to see what REAL dancing is all about. Tune in to SYTYCD and this is the type of groundbreaking routines you will see every week.

SYTYCD fans already should keep an eye out for Travis Wall who is rumored to be in this number.

Thanks to Ducky for the video.

I love Wade!!! He always does such amazing choreography. His Emmy win was well deserved. Ramalama is my alltime favorite piece!

wow that was awesome! I couldn’t help but feel a bit disconcerted that I didn’t recognize any of the dancers as it felt just like SYTYCD!

I was in dance for 17 years, and had the privelage of taking lessons for several years with Wade at Tremaine National Dance Convention. He’s a phenomonal dancer and choreographer, and what’s more, he’s an extremely nice person. I was so happy to see him on “Dancing With The Stars” last night…incredible performance!

Travis was the one wearing a jesture hat. In the box scene he was the in the front on the right. When he was on the tired stage he was on the back right. Towards the end he was sitting solo behind Wade. At the end he was in the front on the left. Hope this helps! Wade is AWESOME!

The name of that song is by a group called Psapp and the song is “Hi.” I’m stoked that I found it…check it out.

This performance was electrifying. Subsequent performances on Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) were lame by comparison. Everything just felt like they were copying Robson. The guys that did “the biggest dance set piece we’ve ever done” worked 5 times as hard and only got 1/10th the results. This guy had the right artistic vision – he’s a true artist. The DWTS “magician” themed performance really felt like a rip off of Robson’s circus, and the music they used was just not right at all. In Robson’s piece, when the Raggedy Ann dolls turn and the light comes up on that big set with the army of dancers on there, I get major goosebumps. At that point you realize that this piece is going to be bigger and better than you ever expected.
