Ask any performance artist: it's worse when people pretend like you did a good job than when they're honest with you. But even Simon isn't as harsh as I would be on some people. Even he seems to get swept away with personality occasionally, giving rave reviews to performances I only thought were so-so. But I suppose I haven't been watching much Fox. I think I'll watch it. I hate the exploitation of the all the bad singers in the early eps, but I love it when we actually get to see the good singers.
