Anderson Cooper to Donna Brazile: “I Wanna Be Your Boo” (Video)

It’s not often that I can say that the funniest moment on TV last night happened on CNN…but it did. While I was watching CNN’s political coverage, moderator Anderson Cooper was asking political strategist Donna Brazile about a conversation she had last night with Senator Barack Obama. When Cooper pressed her from some inside scoop, we had this great exchange. So funny!

Anderson Cooper: Did he tell you in that phone conversation, that you had privately with him, about how he plans to do that? How he plans to reach out? How he plans to unify?
Donna Brazile: Of course he’s told everyone that he plans to sit down with Senator Clinton at the right time…”
Cooper: I’m looking for something he hasn’t told anyone else…just you.
[Laughter]
Brazile: Anderson, you’re not my boo.
[More laughter]
Cooper: I wanna be your boo. [pause and laughter] I don’t reallyeven know what that means.
[Brazile looks at her watch]
Brazile: Anderson, are we still on TV?
Cooper: Yes we are
Brazile: Well, I think I better watch my words / Cooper: I’m not sure that means exactly….someone can explain it to me later.

I am sooo glad you posted this. When I saw this, I immediately called my mother to say “Did Anderson Cooper just politely request to be Donna Brazile’s boo?” I am so glad that it was clearly as funny as I thought it was!

Boo is slang for boyfreind. AC just asked her to be boyfreind and girlfriend. From what information I gathered though, she’s a lesbian.

I love it… Donna is so funny the way she looks at her watch kind of flirting with Anderson! She teased Stephen Colbert like this on his show. I adore her… and Anderson, the most handsome intelligent on-air anchor ever!
I saw this too. Had to rewind because I did not believe I heard it correctly. That was soo funny!!!! It was great to see that playfulness in Donna too. Did not know she had that in her.
What an amazing, historic night!! Obama gave a speech this morning at the AIPAC and it was really awesome. He looked so presidential, his ideas were so sophisticated. I thought that Clinton’s speech at the same event, which immediately followed, was flat. Same old, same old. It’s funny that they were both slated to speak at the same function the morning after. Though I was a devout Clinton fan early in the race, I truly believe America made the right choice.

i loved this exchange between donna brazile and anderson! i actually think anderson left her speechless when he said it. that’s why she was looking at her watch, she was, uncharacteristically, at a loss for words. i also seeing those around them get a kick out of it. funny, funny stuff! and, if donna says no, anderson can be my boo anytime he wants! lol!
