GMMR's Fall TV: Tuesday Night - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

GMMR’s Fall TV: Tuesday Night

September 23, 2008 by

You would think that after the onslaught of Monday night TV the networks would give us a breather on Tuesdays – nope.  We are right back at it on Tuesdays with some fantastic programming.  The question is, who has time to watch it?  Well I guess I’m going to try.

Take a look at my tentative Tuesday night schedule with a little added flava on how I plan on attacking the evening.

Note: If I had the ability to upload images right now, I would be sure to fix the typo in “Privileged”.  For some reason I can never manage to spell that one right on my first try.  Just realized I butchered it above – how embarrassing!

HOUSE: Whew, I kind of luck out on this one.  HOUSE is one of my favorite shows so I’m glad it’s going to be the show to kick off my Tuesday nights.

FRINGE: Joshua Jackson and I have a date every Tuesday night at 9pm.  I’m still digging FRINGE and despite the lackluster reception its receiving from others, I’m sticking with it.  I’ve waited too long for Josh Jackson to come back to TV for me to abandon the show.  Plus, I think it’s got real potential

ELI STONE (premieres October 14th): One of my favorites from last season is back.  My relationship with the show started off slow, but I was soon completely charmed by Eli and his aneurysmic (do you like that word?) visions.

PRIVILEGED: I’m already a big fan of this show, but it’s up against FRINGE, and until Dr. Walter Bishop perfects his cloning techniques PRIVILEGED is going to have to be DVR’d for viewing later on Tuesday night.

THE MENTALIST: I didn’t want to like this show, but I did.  It’s good enough to be added to the weekly schedule and worthy enough for me to actually watch on Tuesday nights…if I had the time.  But I don’t.  And since this is a procedural, I think it’s going to have to be banked until later in the weekend.  Sorry folks.  If you don’t agree it’s your gig to convince me THE MENTALIST is a show we should be following on GMMR.

90210:  Although the grid says I’ll be watching the all new 90210 I think I’m already over it. I’ll probably still throw it on the old DVR and watch it at my leisure – maybe on Sunday morning with my coffee.  Just not a priority for me.  Sorry kids but it’s just not keeping my attention.  But listen up…if you are a fan and you want GiveMeMyRemote.com to cover the show you’re going to have to be all kinds of loud in the comments.  If there is enough demand I’ll figure something out.  Let yourselves be heard.

Tell us what YOUR Tuesday night TV schedule looks like.  What shows are you watching live, TiVoing for later, watching online or maybe ditching all together?

I’ve pretty much given up on 90210 as well. I think I’m going to use the 8:00 hour to catch up on Monday TV.

I’m all about Fringe and Eli. I’ll be checking out the Mentalist too and I do really enjoy Privileged, which kinda shocked me. The Mentalist will probably be online viewing.

Thank God for DVR’s because Eli is on way to late for me! I am looking forward to the premiere.

    My Tuesday includes the following:

Lincoln Heights – The Sutton family is back!
90210 – Can easily go to the wayside aka just waking up late on Sunday
Greek – Must watch! Will be sad when it goes on hiatus again but my DVR will lose weight in the process
Privileged – Adorable show, getting bumped up to my major leagues
Eureka – Too many shows at this time and I really enjoy it but I’ll record later airing and watch on Wednesdays before my regular line-up
Eli Stone – So glad this is back! Can’t wait and I enjoyed the re-runs during the summer.
House – I’m OK pushing this off for online viewing until short seasoned shows like Lincoln Heights go back on hiatus.

    Tuesdays pretty much mirror yours!

    WATCH LIVE:
    8 p.m. – “House”
    9 p.m. – “Fringe”
    10 p.m. – “Eli Stone”

    WATCH LATER:
“Privileged” (Love this show but like you, I’d rather watch Joshua Jackson!)

    ON THE FENCE:
“Greek” (Haven’t watched the last few episodes so I take that as a sign that I’m getting over it.)
“The Mentalist” (I’m 50/50 about. It’s not on good terms with me, but I might watch the next episode and decide then if it’s worth adding onto my list.)

Tuesday isn’t much of a busy night for TV watching for me. The only show I watch is 90210 (I only watch because I’m a huge fan of Spring Awakening so I watch to see how badly they butcher it and then complain about it to my roommate!). There is also DWTS (because of my roommate) but I hardly even watch it if I’m in the room.

I’m a casual Law and Order: SVU watcher but it depends on who’s guest starring and/or the story of the week.

I’m a Greek fan too. I just haven’t watched several of the last episodes to care to watch it live. I can always watch it later with ABC Family having random marathons from time to time (or online).

Tuesdays are one of the hardest days and actually require me to hit the web to view shows.
The Biggest Loser: Families: It’s one of the few shows on TV I can watch with my kids but I DVR it for later in the week.
House. Fringe. Privileged. Law & Order: SVU. This week I didn’t watch anything yet. It was my husband’s birthday and he didn’t want to watch TV. Privileged will be viewed online. The rest are pretty much all for later in the week.
I gave up on 90210. Wasn’t good enough to take an extra 48 minutes of my life watching it.
