What to Watch…Tuesday, September 23, 2008

September 23, 2008 by

A thousand apologies GMMR readers. In the wee hours of the morning I discovered that GMMR was  hit with some kind of bug which has made posting very difficult.  Not the kind of technical issue that you want to discover the morning after the official kickoff to the Fall TV season.  There are people looking into it and it will hopefully be fixed soon.I have a number of posts about last night’s shows all in the queue waiting to be published, but I can’t reach them at this point in time.  Needless to say there was as lot of Monday night TV and still a lot to discuss.  Sadly that discussion will be a bit delayed, but it will happen to stay tuned!

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

In the meantime, thanks to a good friend, I’m able to share with you at the very least tonight’s ‘What to Watch’ list which includes reminders to check out the late night talk shows as two of my top TV boyfriends Zach Levi of CHUCK and John Krasinski of THE OFFICE will be stopping by to chat.

So have at it…

The Mentalist | 9pm on CBS | Series Premiere
The murders of a pro golfer’s wife and her doctor are investigated in the opener of a series about a former fake psychic who now uses his gift for observing details to assist a California crime unit. Michael Moradi: Shaun Toub. [GMMR: If only I could access the enbtire post I wrote dedicated to THE MENTALIST. Dammit!  Anyway, despite my issues with it being a complete ripoff of the PSYCH plotline, I was really digging this show.  Simon Baker is fantastic and his use of his keen observant abilities to solve crimes is really quite compelling.  And there’s a bit of a twist near the end which I think makes the story they are trying to tell that much more compelling.  Give it a try and we can discuss it tomorrow, deal?]

Difficult choices tonight on which shows to watch and which ones to record. I really want to see both House and NCIS in the first hour and can’t decide between them. In the second hour, I want to watch Fringe live, but I don’t want to hear about the twist on The Mentalist before I see it for myself. I will also record Privileged for the weekend because it has been fun so far. I don’t know that I can stick with it though because this schedule is getting so crowded now. I am giving up SVU and Without a Trace this year because I don’t have time for them and will probably see them eventually in reruns. I don’t have an interest in any of the other shows.

Wow. That is a LOT of TV on Tuesday! Yikes. My night is pretty much booked from 7 – 10 tonight, starting with Fringe (which, I’ll admit, I’m not *loving*, but I am enjoying – and hey, I really can’t dislike anything Josh stars in!). Following Fringe I have a date with House (and Felicia Day! YAY! Also – the actor who played Private Dancer on Scrubs…). The night ends with Law & Order: SVU.
