What to Watch…Wednesday, September 24, 2008
September 24, 2008 by Kath Skerry
Welcome to Wednesday. There’s certainly a lot of shows to choose from tonight, so choose wisely. My big Wednesday shows don’t start until October 1st, so I’ll be catching up on shows I missed from Monday & Tuesday.
But check back tomorrow to talk about BONES, GARY UNMARRIED and anything else you might be interested in chattin about.
The New Adventures of Old Christine | 8pm on CBS | Season Premiere
The fourth season begins with Christine proposing to Barb to keep her from being deported to the Bahamas. Meanwhile, Richard considers asking new Christine to marry him.
Bones | 8pm on Fox
When the murder of a reclusive science-fiction writer with obsessive-compulsive disorder has the Jeffersonian team stumped, Hodgins turns to Zack (Eric Millegan) for help in piecing together the evidence to track down the killer.
Knight Rider | 8pm on NBC | Series Premiere
Mike and KITT gear up to deliver a package in the premiere episode, but their parcel is a man with top-secret codes. The encroachment of enemies includes an enigmatic lady who has knowledge of Mike’s past. Mike: Justin Bruening. [GMMR: Yeah, sorry. I tried to watch the pilot. I psyched myself up and everything in an attempt to keep an open mind. The boys were pretty but not pretty enough to make up for the rest of the disaster. Skip it.]
America’s Next Top Model | 8pm
The models wear blindfolds while practicing their runway walks. For the photo shoot, the ladies pose with their eyes. The judges eliminate two contestants.
Dancing with the Stars | 8pm on ABC
The second couple in one week is eliminated. [GMMR: Good Governor - talk about milking the ratings. How many times a week is this show on?]
Gary Unmarried | 8:30pm on CBS | Series Premiere
Painting contractor Gary (Jay Mohr) and his ex-wife (Paula Marshall) navigate kids and new relationships in this comedy, which opens with Allison announcing she is remarrying and Gary getting involved with a client. [GMMR: We'll talk more about this one tomorrow. I can't say that I was all that excited about GARY UNMARRIED. I'm a fan of Jay Mohr and he's probably the brightest spot in this new sitcom. But in general I felt things were a bit contrived. The comedy was pretty formulaic and traditional. There were certainly a few funny moments but I like my comedies with a bit more depth. Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think tomorrow. But don't forget - don't get hooked because come October 1st this show is up against PUSHING DAISIES. I'm just sayin'...]
Criminal Minds | 9pm on CBS | Season Premiere
The fourth-season opener follows the aftermath of the bombing in New York City. Two team members are injured and the rest of the team hunt for terrorists who may be planning a bigger attack. Kate: Sienna Guillory. Sam: Michael Steger.
Project Runway | 9pm on Bravo
The remaining contestants draw upon their knowledge of rock, hip hop and country, accepting an unusual challenge to design garments for a specific musical genre, with guest judge LL Cool J providing musical inspiration.
