HEREOS: Angels and Monsters - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

HEREOS: Angels and Monsters

HEROES Cast

After a week of technical difficulties, I’m back and ready to talk Heroes. Right off the bat I must say it – I am not loving this season. In fact, it was almost hard to get through the whole episode last night. I don’t know if I’m expecting more from the show but this episode was not even close to the middle of the road Season 1 episodes. It was almost a middle of the road Season 2 episode. I’m starting to fear that Heroes is never going to go back to the way it used to be.

Peter Petrelli has Sylar’s power now thanks to his encounter with even creepier Future Gabriel. Angela is still up to her manipulation of her boys, but now she’s added one more to the fray. Nathan’s opening narration was awkward. I’m really used to hearing Mohinder’s voice as the narrator but now that he is the Spider Monster, I don’t think he’ll be the voice of reason in narration any longer.

Hiro and Ando were back to comic relief and much of their scenes with Adam Monroe (he’s ba-ack) were really funny. However, Hiro made a really dumb mistake by just trusting that Adam was not going to lead them astray. I understand Hiro’s fatal flaw is being too trusting, which can make him reckless, but I thought he learned to never trust Adam Monroe. Do you think it’s really curtains for Ando?

Claire and Noah both drove me nuts! Noah is turning into a caricature of his former self and Claire needs to just stay out of the way for now. Claire should also realize that though Sylar did take something from her, he did not kill her. He also helped her avoid the vortex that she almost spiraled into. Did you foresee the demise of Vortex-man too?

I am interested in seeing what pans out with the army of heroes and Papa Petrelli. I am surprised that Papa Parkman is back. Did that surprise any of you? I am not surprised to find out, however, that Lindermann is dead and gone and Parkman Sr. is manipulating Nathan. How do you think Nathan survived the shooting if Lindermann is actually dead, though?

I miss the old geneticist Mohinder. I miss the old, non-self-righteous Nathan. I miss the old save the world Peter. Most of all, I miss that show that I couldn’t wait to see on Monday nights. What do you think of this season so far? Am I being too hard on it? Have I been too easy on it? Give me your thoughts!

I’ll be back again next week to talk more Heroes. Until then, have a great week!

She’s still mourning the cancellation of The Gilmore Girls, regularly watches entire box sets in rapid succession, and likes to spend any free time in San Francisco.

Hiro continues to annoy. The way they use his power is just retarded. When they first let Monroe out of the coffin Hiro stops time (or zips back and forth) in time no problem. Then Monroe gets away and Hiro is busy checking an alley instead of going back five minutes.

I realize time travel is a tricky because of all the possibilities, but i find it very annoying.

Overall though i like the season. Its light years ahead of season 2 imo.

I’m curious about this season. I’ve heard most people hating it, but a lot of people loving it. Most recently, because of the Ando situation, I’m getting some traffic on my blog for some of my season 1 posts, so that’s making me curious to know what’s happening to my used-to-be favorite characters (I stopped watching mid-season 2). Most recently, I heard Monday’s ep was actually not bad! But your review is also very convincing. I think I might step back into the Heroes ring at least for one ep and see what’s going on. Thanks for the warning, and great post!

I’m not sure I’ll be hanging on for the whole season, but I couldn’t resist the shirt that reminds me of the good old days: http://tinyurl.com/3n423m

Heroes is so much better this year than Season 2. While it isn’t perfect or as intriguing as the first season, I still think it is engaging and providing interesting storylines for the watcher while adding dimension to the characters. I enjoy Heroes and I’m glad it’s back on my TV.

I am still watching but I dread each week because I expect to be disappointed and too often am.

Hiro was fun as a comic book hero in season one, it makes no sense now. He shouldn’t be such a fool.

Mohindar and Maya have no interest to me. Mohindar will always make whatever choice is dumbest.

The continual time travel has made a mess of any continuity.

The jumbling of good versus bad guys seems to based just on a desire to “shake things up”, rather than any logic.

And we more Big Bads like Papa Petrelli, like we need a migraine.

I agree Hiro was fun to watch in season one, now he is foolish and badly written. This season is so much better than last but i want Peter back, not this lunitic slicing his family members heads open!!

This was the last week for me to watch. I fell asleep so many times that it’s not even worth trying to follow the convoluted tale that is Heroes.
It had such promise too. Oh well. Opens up more time to spend with the family or something!

Keep watching Heroes or I may have to cut your skull open!

Haha just kidding, but yeah the show is nuts right now. Sylar good and Peter evil? Very interesting, but that’s the only good part of the show right now in my opinion.

Nathan survived the shooting because he already had some of Peter’s blood in him from when he blew up. He now has regeneration power as well. It was nothing to do with Linderman healing him.
