HEROES Recap: Dying of the Light

October 21, 2008 by

Heroes

I keep singing the title of this episode to the tune of Manfred Mann’s “Blinded by the Light”. I am glad to be singing because I certainly thought this episode elevated this season.

Parkman & Daphne finally met in the airport, with Parkman’s tortoise in tow. Do you think that this love connection is going to happen? It was sweet that Parkman waited around all day while Daphne made her rounds, recruiting people for Pinehearst Industries. Speaking of Pinehearst…

Daddy Petrelli had a run in with Adam Monroe and turned him to dust. It’s a sad day for Kensei fans because it looks like he’s toast. Arthur Petrelli looks to be the original Sylar, capable of stealing others’ abilities. He is now able to leave his hospital bed, courtesy of Mr. Monroe. Do you expect any others to join the villain squad that Arthur is assembling? Is anyone surprised that Sylar is not a part of it anymore and is reforming his bad, bad ways?

Ando manages to survive thanks to some time travel, a fake sword, and some fake blood on Hiro’s part. Hiro gets to play the part of a bad guy to gain a villain’s approval to join their club; however, Daphne is rather concerned with his behavior. She does give him an assignment which leads him to Africa.

“African Isaac!” manages to outsmart Hiro thanks to his ability to paint the future. He hits him on the head a couple of times with a shovel. Do you think Hiro is going to follow African Isaac’s advice?

Mohinder meets up with Nathan & Tracy and continues to be the web spinning (or is it cocoon making?) monster. Though he declined Daphne’s invitation to join the villains at Pinehearst, do you think he’ll reconsider?

At the Puppetmaster’s house , Claire and her two moms played a lovely game of Russian Roulette. It was pretty obvious that Claire was going to be the one shot to save the day. However, how awesome was Puppetmaster Eric? I hope that he eventually gets out of wherever HRG is taking him so that he can join up with Team Villain!

Peter & Sylar fighting was absolutely brilliant. Can people please stop putting each other into weird comas, though? Do you think Peter’s going to be devoid of powers forever, or just for now?

A tip for all of you Kristen Bell fans out there, courtesy of Kristin Dos Santos from E! – Elle will be back next week. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing

I know that many of you probably had favorite heroes that are now villains or vice versa. It makes it tough to choose a side. But if you can pick: Heroes or Villains? Whose side are you on? Leave some comments and we’ll discuss this week’s episode some more!

Randi works at a tech company by day and spends the rest of the night battling her boyfriend for the remote control. She usually wins. She’s still mourning the cancellation of The Gilmore Girls, regularly watches entire box sets in rapid succession, and likes to spend any free time in San Francisco.

I hate Elle, and honestly, knowing she might be back on next week is enough to make me not watch the show. And by Elle, I mean that I really don’t like Kristen Bell.

I was about to give up on Heroes but I really liked the last episode and this one was good too. Less time jumping and exposition, and more into the action, which I suppose at this point I should just be accepting as how they do it. But I really like Daphne, I think she’s a good character, and I like how they’re raising questions about heroes and villains. It’s hitting it’s season stride I think.

i found this week the best so far this season!! When Papa P sucked Adam’s lifeforce i knew that Peter could be in the same situation when he see old dad. Maybe now he wont be so arrogent!

I’m really like Daphne as well, and I can’t wait for Kristen Bell’s return next week, i want to see the charactor of Elle develop more.

Best episode of the season. I was interested the whole time, Hiro starting to not be a total idiot anymore and an ending of the episode made me actually look forward to next week.

Yeah for Kristen Bell being back next week. She’s nice to look at.
