When Will FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Be On NBC? I’ll Tell Ya…

November 25, 2008 by

NBC best drama, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, will finally be “chiming” in on the peacock network in mid-January. Can I get an AMEN!!

FNL, which has been airing its third season exclusively on DirecTV since early October, will air on Friday nights at 9pm on NBC starting January 16, 2009.

I’ve been very careful not to talk about this season of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS on GMMR as I don’t want to risk spoiling anything for those of you who don’t have DirecTV. But I can say that this season is fantastic. I’m talking solid episode after solid episode. Everything that makes FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS such a special hour of television is well represented in what will most likely be its third and final season.

So January 16th is the date. If you have not experienced FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS I can’t stress enough how much you are missing out on. Don’t cheat yourself anymore. Go out and buy the DVDs and catch up on as much as you can before the third season premieres on NBC. I’ve received countless emails from GMMR readers who have started watching FNL as a result of my badgering nagging incessant pestering encouragement, and to date not one of those people have been disappointed.

As for all of you who are already fans of the show, start spreading the word.  Now is the time to get new viewers interested.  Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can’t Lose.

A couple months ago, my friend and I exchanged The Office and FNL dvds with each other. I’d caught a few eps of FNL before but never enough to get hooked. I guess it’s all about timing because now I love it. I’ve caught it online since it’s been on Direct but can’t wait for it to be back on NBC. It’s slowly outranking Grey’s on the list of faves. And I totally agree it’s getting better and better each week.

I can’t wait for the best drama on TV to come back to network TV. I admit, I’ve been cheating and watching the newest episodes online, but I plan on watching them again when they air on NBC. I can watch the brilliance that is Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler, and Zach Gilford over and over again.

People don’t know what they are missing! This show is so wonderful- I wish it would get more viewers. The new season has been amazing so far and I will be watching it again when it comes on NBC

I want to get up the date on this show since I’ve never seen any, but are the episodes that were available only on DirectTV available anywhere if I don’t have that? Are they on DVD yet? Thanks!

Yes, the first two season of FNL are on DVD. The third season, which is currently airing new episodes on DirecTV, will be airing on NBC come January.

So you have about 2 months to catch up on 2 season – quite doable. So worth your time.

Anyone that is undecided about the show should definitely watch this season. It’s back to its old self (not that I didn’t like season 2). We have DirecTV, but I will definitely be watching again! Gotta support my show.

I totally cannot wait for the season to start on NBC. I’ve actually been able to catch most of the new episodes but I’m definitely looking forward to watching the episodes again each week. I absolutely agree that the 3rd season has much of the feel of that absolutely perfect 1st season – I only wish we could get more years out of this show, but I’ll take whatever I can get!

I have seen references to it here but couldn’t find it when I’d look so glad that mystery is solved. Fridays will be good again.

man people are really missing a good show, i am 34 and my wife is 28 and we never miss an episode ever unless i tvo it. The acting is so freelance and lose it takes me back to high school at time for myself. best show on tv.

I am a 64 year old single professional…this show (FNL) has appeal for everyone….not just teens or 20 somethings….The actors on this show are just fabulous. I can’t believe that anyone who would watch just two of these shows would not be hooked forever. My closest frind, age 63, and works for the same company I do…she can not wait for the show to come back to NBC. I have Direct TV and have been able to watch it the past few months…I have told her, ” you will be so happy with all of the programs, and I will be watching them all again.”

How is whoever running NBC this season still employed? They took away the 10 o’clock hour, there is no consistency and worst of all I had to go to 13 web sights to find when Friday Night Lights is going to be on and it’s still not on my on demand menu so I don’t know if I believe this. NBC has always been my favorite station, but now between Better off Ted and Grey’s and Modern Family as well as programming you can count on ABC is taking the lead.
