SUPERNATURAL Spoilers: Could it Be True??

The following contains speculation on reported spoilers for upcoming episodes of SUPERNATURAL. You have been warned.
Hey Supernatural fans!! Our show returns tomorrow night with all new episodes after the (much too long!) break. In anticipation of that, I had to write about this nugget of major gossip that’s been floating around. Choose to read it or not (consider yourself spoiler-warned), but either way, come back on Friday to discuss tomorrow’s episode, which looks to be especially creepy!
Television gossip maven Kristin Dos Santos has blown the mind grapes (to quote Tracy of ’30 Rock’) of the collective Supernatural fandom by posting the most major possible spoiler in the show’s history and it’s causing quite a ruckus on the old interwebs. As I said, it’s only a possible spoiler, but Kristin’s pretty in-the-know, so who knows? It could be true. Anyhow, as Team GMMR’s resident Supernatural recapper, I had to share the news here, and discuss this possible turn of events with fellow fans, so if you don’t want to know, don’t read past the jump. But, if you do read, please please please share your thoughts in the comments section because I think y’all will definitely have some things to say…
So, it turns out that dear old daddy Winchester may have sprung one more fruit from his loins. Yes, apparently there may be a THIRD Winchester brother out there in the world. It’s not clear whether this brother would be older or younger than Sam and Dean, but if it’s true, my money’s on younger. I mean, nobody wants to think that John cheated on Mary during their relationship, which began when they were pretty young. As for him having a child before that, it’s possible but he would be quite a ways off in age from his brothers and that just seems unlikely to me.
From what I’ve been reading from fans, the reaction has generally been…WTF Kripke?? There may have been mention of a shark being jumped. I personally had a negative reaction to this news the second I read it…it does seem pretty soap opera-ish and melodramatic for a show that already has plenty of emotion as it is. I think most fans expect that the show will end after season five (next season) and we’ve been gearing up for the big war between Good and Evil. Do we really need this drama added now, when things are already so epic? Sam and Dean have enough issues left to resolve between them that they really don’t need a brother from another mother thrown at them at this point. On a lighter note, fans will go crazy if a third sibling is added to the mix, possibly throwing a wild card into the “who’s the hottest Winchester brother” game.
So…thoughts? Are you irate, or excited for a possible Winchester trifecta? Would this be certain disaster or is there a way that you think it could work? If you can get past the shock, do you have thoughts on casting? I’m thinking Zac Efron…(soooooo kidding!!).

I am a HUGE Supernatural fan and I only pray that Kripke is yanking the chain again. Please oh, please let this not be true. I would rather Dean have a kid.
Based on Ausiello, this might turn out to be a trick, as the episode title is something like “Jumping the Shark.”
well maybe it is true maybe it isn’t. but as for me, i WOULD like to see another winchester brother in the show. u can never hav too many winchesters:) in my opinion he should be very young. lik rebelious teenager young. that way he could drive sam and dean crazy. he’d be the annoying little brother that gets into all of their rocksalt, messes around in deans impala, steals deans skin magazines, etc. u get the idea. again i would like to see a third winchester brother. i don’t think it would make supernatural into a soap opera at all. there is already alot of emotion in the show between the brothers. it would add an interesting twist to the series.:)
i think if they do go with this storyline route that he’ll probably be a pert-time char (like Bobby or Ruby) only really on when needed.
or … another possibility is that maybe he won’t be a hunter at all?
though i doubt it for storyline reasons. but who knows.
hopefully it’ll be interesting. i got enough faith in this show to say that they wouldn’t gimmick out on us with some cheap soap-opera storyline. if they do ad the 3rd Winchester bro, they are going to have to make it good.
guess we will all just have to wait and see.
I think it would be great. Possibly he could be a twin of Dean’s who was taken as a young child for his own safety but figures in the mytharch. Then there would be a “trinity” of Winchesters. The possibilities are endless, maybe Dean would need a twin to help him fight Sammy so he won’t become Samael, who afterall was married to Lilith. I still think the ploy of Lilith breaking the seals has to do with Sam becoming Samael and think that Dean is really a warrior angel like raphael or Michael. Maybe ithe “twin” could be a trick of Lilith’s so Sam would think Dean had gone all darkside thus helping Sam become Samael.
OMG, ok well first of all nooo competition, dean is the hotest brother, but though there has been alot of drama i think maybe it could be interesting, because maybe its just the thing to take there minds off everything and consider having a relationship with other people than eachother, i definatly think that it would be better if he was younger but not to younge. And i think if they do bring someone else, wich they may not, they shouldnt end the show, they could build an entire season off the three of them, weather or not the third bro is a hunter or not, they could teach him how, or he could end up helping dean fight sam if he does turn darkside,wich could build a great story line aswell.
And though this is a very interesting thought, i just hope they keep the boys around because i absolutey love the show and it would be a shame for it to end.
