As soon as the girl started petting her "dog" I KNEW it wasn't the dog. That story was my favorite when I was younger. I heard it from an older neighbor when I was around seven and told it at almost every sleepover I went to after that. My parents were clueless of course so I had to recap the entire story to them just so they would understand the pop culture reference. XD

I didn't mind the big bomb at the end that Dean enjoyed torturing souls in hell. I want to think it's a way to put Sam and Dean on a level playing field. With Sam feeling super evil theses past few seasons and Dean being "saved" it's got to be tearing at both of them. Now maybe Sam won't feel quite so bad and while Dean knows (or thinks) he is an awful person for the things he is done, they are both human. Nobody is perfect and we all have to try and be better to feel worthy of the gifts we get. Dean has never felt he deserves anything good that he gets but God thinks he deserves to be saved.

I really can't wait to see how it all ends.

It may not have been the captive girl who was licking the daughter's hand. It could have been the captive girl's brother, aka the captive boy.

Innocent souls go to hell. Remember the episode when the husband sold his soul for his wife who had cancer? He was innocent.

Good recap Nicole! I felt the same way about the episode! I guess I was expecting something more earth shattering after the long break, and it was gross. I do however think that Dean's announcement (about hell) could possibly be a way to smoke screen what's really going to happen with Sam, or to both of them.

This is just a guess. I think Dean is going to be working for the good side, trying to redeem himself, while Sam and his demon blood could end up working on the evil side. Either way I think their going to go toe to toe against one another, whether they choose to or not in the end. Remember when castiel's partner (I can't remember his name) said if Sam was trouble he would turn him into dust? I just have this feeling that their setting all this up for a battle between good vs evil and Dean vs Sam. I could be way off base too! That's just my prediction anyways on the whole Dean torture deal.
