ONTD do not cite their sources for EVERY post. My weekly Music on TV post gets copied and pasted there without credit every week, without fail. (Except when I take a vacation from the post… then whoever copies it conveniently takes one as well).

Wow, this is nuts. I read your site everyday but I never comment. I thought I would just say how much I like your list and not to be swayed by any of this stuff. It’s all rather laughable if you ask me. I guess some people don’t care to understand your point about stealing content, but I get it.

On to more important stuff. I was surprised to see a few tech sites on here. I believe you said that you are a new Apple user. There are a bunch of great blogs dedicated to the iPhone apps. You should check them out. They are a great place to waste time.

Okay, so I’m probably going to regret even entering this “discussion,” but as a fan of both GMMR and ONTD I feel the need to say something. Perhaps GMMR didn’t use the best word when saying ONTD “steals” content, but GMMR’s point is that ONTD collects and reposts content from lot of other sites and provides it in one place so that we can see it and comment on it if we wish without having to go to a ton of other sites. That’s what *is* great about ONTD. Just because GMMR used the word “steal,” you miss the main point of GMMR’s compliment. And posting ignorant, disrespectful comments to GMMR is ridiculous and reveals a level of immaturity, that if you’re not a tween/teen, you still act like one. Sorry, GMMR. It’s probably not even worth posting a response to this, but I felt the need to come to your defense.

I think you’re a little confused re: ONTD. A) we source everything we post. the mods are very strict about always having a source. B) we are a news aggregate community of Livejournal users. we never professed to be an original blog of celebrity content. C) we post everything from the tour schedules of random metal bands to Oscar nominations to blind items to The Office to, yes, the Jonas Brothers. the next time you lump us all as teenyboppers, please take this into consideration. (there is also a large cadre of very upset Pushing Daisies fans on ONTD…) and most importantly D) we are more powerful than you think.

ONTD started because people didn’t WANT to have to go to those sites. They wanted something easier–ONTD is just a condensed gossip place, and it’s not WHAT gets posted that matters so much as it is the comments. To gripe about how it “steals” is to completely miss what makes ONTD… ONTD.

ONTD does not steal. We post stories from all over the internet that people might not see, post pictures from different sources and bring all the “important” celebrity gossip to one place. Besides, the stories aren’t really the point of ONTD. It’s the comments and the hilarious members. We are awesome. And you suck.

passiveaggressivenotes.com – My best friend sent me to this site when I was supposed to be studying for exams. It’s a great time-waster, and perfect for a laugh.

http://www.omiru.com – A great fashion website (“real style for real people”), which answers questions and offers up great clothing combinations. I found it because it was Time Magazine’s 50 Best Websites of 2008, so you know it’s good.

howcast.com – Another site recommended by Time. Think of it as eHow combined with YouTube. You have standard how-to videos, as well as hilarious videos such as “How to pick up girls” or “How to get rid of a hickey”.

Have you checked out GraphJam? It’s run by the same people who do FailBlog and I Can Haz Cheezburger? It’s great – people send in blogs based on pop culture, so you get the occasional Office reference. It’s just as entertaining as FailBlog. It sucks up hours and hours of my time.
