Breaking News: FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS Gets Two Season Pick-Up

March 30, 2009 by

Clear Eyes, Full Hearts. Can’t Lose FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS…and we won’t!

The best drama on TV lives to see another day.  Well, lives to see two more seasons to be accurate.  It has been confirmed that FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS has been picked up for two more seasons by DirecTV/NBC!!  Each 13 episode season will work like it did this past year with DirecTV exclusively showing the season to its subscribers in the Fall and then NBC reairing the episodes in the winter.

This is the single best TV news I’m going to hear for quite some time. If you’re not yet watching FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS I’m not sure what I could possibly do to get you to watch.  I’ve shouted from the rooftops how incredibly special and important this show is.  It’s TV at its absolute finest.

Let’s hear it FNL fans!!!

I AM SO EXCITED! I can’t believe NBC went for this, but I am beyond grateful!

Wahoo! This is fantastic news! This is one of my favorites. I just hope they give Riggins, Lyla, Tyra, and Saracen the same type of beautifully written exits that the Smash and Jason Street got this year, since they presumably have all graduated and moved on. It’ll be interesting to see what new characters they bring on.

I am really excited! I can’t believe it actually happened. Thank goodness for Directv! Now I just need to move so I can switch back to Directv and watch it live! (I face the wrong direction currently…grumble grumble..)

Good news–on a side note, anyone else notice the panthers never say, “clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose” anymore?

SUCH fantastic news!!! When I heard of the idea of a two season pick-up, I was afraid to get my hopes up. I can’t believe we get to end the next season with none of this “will it be back” worry that we FNL fans have lived with since season one. Now if Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler could get some Emmy recognition…is that pushing my luck?

Yay!!! I hope they find ways to keep some of the younger characters around even after they graduate. But as long as Coach and Principal Taylor are around it will be an amazing show. 😀

Yess!!!!! I’m shocked but so happy! This made my night : )

Sometimes quality actually wins and this is a case where this is true. Last night on MSNCB, the host of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. was bragging on his hometown b-ball team for winning state and they were the Panthers – not in TX mind you but I got a smile anyway.

    Now what about Chuck?

WOOOOHOOO! What a relief! I’m watching S3 unfold and I panic at the end of every episode because I don’t know if stories will get their proper end. Now, we need to get invested in some younger characters, I guess I’ll start caring about the Mccoys.

Yay!!! I’m so happy. I hope they find a way to keep Saracen and Riggins around.

I don’t care about the McCoys, and it will take a lot for me to care about that family. JD bored me, Joe wins the douche of the year award, and the mother is annoying rich bitch. If the writers wanted me to hate that family, they succeeded.

I hope they introduce new characters that we can grow to love like we have with Saracen, Riggins, Street, and Smash.

Yeah…couldn’t Riggins be held back a year or two? 🙂 I really hope he sticks around for a bit somehow…I’m dreading his tear-filled send off episode already. Not to mention Seracen, Landry and Tyra…oh boy. It’s going to be tough.

Fantastic news! Friday Night Lights is THE best show on tv right now. If you don’t yet watch it, you need to pick up the dvds and catch up on it.
