Hilarious show! Great writing, Great cast and Great production. I’m happy I’ve been getting a double dose on Friday and Sunday….Keep up the great work. This show has me watching FOX again, previously, I refused to watch the station. Way to save the customer Brothers!!!!! Who are we kidding, customer satisfaction is the most important thing!!!!

I was surprised that Fox picked the show up and was hesitate to watch it. I found it to be surprisingly funny. The writers and actors did a great job. To pull out a few lines here and there and expand them to targeting the show as a racist is unfortunate and should call for one to analyze themselves for quickly coming to that conclusion. As a beautiful professional white woman and one who spends money on anti-aging cream-I got the joke-laughed and went on about by day without thinking twice about racism.

I like Strahan but this show sucks…sorry Mike. Really surprised Fox picked it up. Hope it does well but I wont watch it unless I have nothing to do on a Friday night.

During the last few weeks I’ve checked out each of the new shows on all networks, figuring out what’s worth watching and what isn’t. I didn’t think Brothers was at the top of any list, but it wasn’t that bad either. Even so, there’s no way that I’ll watch another episode of this show. The racist statements during the show were enough to make me cringe. I’ve seen shows that make fun of racial stereotypes, but it’s very clear that its a joke and not a serious statement. On Brothers, it was clearly not a joke. I don’t think that any race should be subjected to demeaning comments on National TV, but it seems that lately there is sensitivity towards every minority, without any considerations for the “majority”. There were several “anti-white” comments in the show, but the one that really got me upset was when CCH Pounder was discussing how beautiful she was and the fact that she didn’t have any wrinkles and she said, “thank God I’m not a white woman!”.

If I was watching “Everybody Loves Raymond”, and Doris Roberts said, “I love my hair, thank God I’m not a black woman!”, then the entire free world would be condemning her racist views and beliefs.

There were other examples, as when Carl Weathers told Strahan that he was pathetic for letting a white quarterback get around him. He also said, ““I used to have a man to hold my umbrella for me. A WHITE man, and you know how expensive THEY are!”. That’s ridiculous!! I took incredible offense to that and other statements that were entirely inappropriate.

There is such a double standard in media, with art imitating life all too often. Living in Memphis for a year, I experienced black on white racism on a daily basis. I feel bad every time I see or hear of a black/hispanic/asian/jewish person experiencing prejudice, but the fact is that I doubt blacks feel the same when the situation is reversed. Until that occurs, they will continue to see themselves as victims.

I think that FOX, the writers and the actors owe viewers a sincere apology.

Eventually…the shows audience will deminish.

I agree with the people above stating that this show does have quite a few racist remarks. If you turned the situation around everyone would be making a big deal out of it. It’s wrong to put these kinds of remarks on a show just because its a show with black people. If this continues I believe you may lose a lot of viewers. Also, if they continue I will definitely not watch the show.

@Ursa–It’s not an excuse to not watch an all black show. I enjoyed the show but also took offense to some of the racial jokes.

The one that got me was:
“I used to have a man to hold my umbrella for me. A WHITE man, and you know how expensive THEY are!”.

That statement would never fly if it was said the other way around. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be up in arms.

With the cast they have they don’t have to stoop that low. The show has potential.

I’ll give the show a few more episodes to clean up their act, but if they resort to more racist humor then I’ll be changing the channel.

Come on with the ‘racists’ comments, TV has been crossing the line for a long time. White people always have to come with an excuse not to watch Blacks on TV. It is true that White women wrinkle faster than Black women, that’s not racist. This show is funny and the actors play well off of each other, I have always loved CCH Pounder ( I don’t know where that name comes from though?)…this is a keeper.

Both the episodes shown contained racist remarks, making it very dissapointing. There would have been a huge uproar if a white actor made a comment About losing to a black man. Does fox think all racism is ok, or just certain kinds? It’s a shame too because I rather liked the show and would have continued to watch it.

I love it! I just watched 2 episodes and I love it! It is so good to see Ms. Pounder in a “lighter” role and to see an athlete transition into a good actor and I’ve been following Chill’s career since he was a rapper! Man, it’s too much to type. I just love it! please keep it on.

I am a huge fan of Michael Strahan but this show has a couple of racist remarks in it that i’m not too keen of! If a white actress in a predominantly white cast show said “i’m glad i’m not a black woman” it would make national news and the show would be viewed as a racist show. I’m sure nothing will come of the remark that CCH Pounder made about being “glad to not be a white woman”.
