The Brothers K are my favorites, as was Natalie (sniff…WTF?!?). Since Nigel has spoken of “casting” the show in the past, I’m suspecting dear, sweet, talented Natalie just didn’t have the right “look” or something. I fear the same may be said of Ryan K; Evan reminds me of Chuck Bass and could stick around for the Top 20. Fingers crossed…

Kath, please explain why I should love Mia the way you do. I’ve enjoyed some, but not all, of her routines in the past. I studied dance years ago, long before “Contemporary” became dominant. I admit, I don’t always get it, especially all the flailing about, flexed feet, hunched-back navel-gazing that seem to epitomize her routines. I don’t know how to judge if someone is doing it correctly. I know Mia does, but why is she so mean? Mean for no reason. Gleefully telling people she’s a cutter. If the dancers had given her attitude and she responded in kind, I would get it. But, she starts out with her bitch sneer and acid tongue. Help me out, here. Seriously. I don’t get her. (Or Lil C, but that’s for another time.)

My husband and I watched last night and we both thought Adam Wong was awesome and laughed our heads off when Nigel was teasing Adam and then he called him an “English bastard.” I really thought they were way too hard on Natalie, I thought she was better than Gabi…but I’m no professional so what do I know. And I agree that Cat Deeley is definitely the best host on TV, she’s so darn sweet!

The Brothers are my flat-out favorites. I think Evan will be my SYTYCD boyfriend this season. Still love Phillip Chbeeb. I like Kayla out of the girls, but they really don’t stand out for me compared to the guys. Alex Wong was banoodles….I hope he makes it as well.

Thanks for posting Alex Wong’s video. I missed the first half hour and didn’t see him last night. Wow! He’s amazing. But…did he say he’s a professional dancer already? I guess that would explain at least some of the difference between him and so many of the other contestants. I hope we get to see a lot more of him!

Definitely a dramatic episode for me (someone who only watched the Top 10 last year, after hearing all of the Ducky/GMMR podcasts). I was really upset to see some of those dancers go, like Gabi and Natalie. Natalie’s dismissal seemed just really unfair, as it was short, to the point, and I don’t really think we (or she) got a reason! Rude. Another dancer I was sad to see go was the one in the West Side Story routine, who had the flower in her hair. She seemed to rock the performance, but they cut her?

Love the Brothers Kasprzak too! So talented. They had better not have them dance for their lives, against each other, as I think each is gifted in their own way, and I love to see them both in the Top 20!

I’m still kind of freaking out that they cut Natalie Reid. That was so unexpected and did seem a little unfair. Especially compared to how many chances they gave Gabi. I really loved Natalie and was sad to see her go. That being said, I think my favorite dancer so far is Alex Wong. Everything about him is just FIERCE.

Also, side note, but why is Shankman having a rough week? Did I miss something?

Yes to a Live Chat, but only if my friend isn’t coming over to watch Top20 with me. And I have a feel that if it came down to the Kaspros* against each other, Ryan would sacrifice himself for Evan.

I LOVE The Brothers Kasprzak! I think the younger is very gifted all around and the older is an amazing choreographer/dancer. It is evident in the Nerdography group performance. I thought they had a story and great moves for the amount of time they were given.

I also want to say that they are only give an hour to learn a routine and some of those are hard. In the show they are given days to work on a routine. If someone is an amazing dancer (like gabi) who’s to say given a few more hours they won’t master the routine. Also I found that Natalie was a much better dancer than the sister that got a second chance. How does one go from being singled out by the choreographer to be the prime example to failing miserably? You can convince me she did that bad. I think you’re right…it was the expectations they had for her.
