GMMR Talking Summer TV on CNN.com

July 23, 2009 by

Surreal.  It’s surreal I tell ya.  As a passionate TV fan who started a blog to share her love of all things “The Creek”, “Lost”, “Veronica Mars”, “The Office”, etc. it’s bizarre to see myself quoted on CNN.com.  I never get used to it and I hope I never do.

Check out the article on CNN.com to hear what bloggers and critics have to say about network TV verse what cable is offering this summer.

Read on: Summer TV Shows not so hot for crtics, bloggers (CNN.com)

(Note: Not everything I said made it into the article, obviously.  I mean there is no way I talked about my summer viewing without mentioning SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!)

Glad the article was finally posted! Can’t wait to read it.

Too bad they didn’t mention any TV on DVD shows specifically. Would have been a great opportunity to get Supernatural out there. And not mentioning SYTYCD was criminal on this journalist’s part! It is good appointment TV for the summer that she should have mentioned. But it seemed like her article was tilting towards the fact that networks don’t program good scripted shows over the summer. I guess she was just ignoring facts that didn’t support her point…

I think she interviewed a lot of people for the article and not everything everyone says can make it in. She was def talking about scripted shows and the networks so there might not have been the place for SYTYCD.

I’m glad this is actually being addressed. I’ve pretty much given up on TV. I watch everything online and I’m saving a bundle on cable bills. @Kristen – you might want to check out Dead Like Me (from the creator of Pushing Daisies) on Hulu. Party Down (Rob Thomas and Paul Rudd) beats 30 Rock as the funniest show on TV this year. The entire cast of Veronica Mars makes an appearance at some point in the series, plus Lizzie Caplan, Jane Lynch, and Martin Starr are regulars. You can watch in On Demand or stream it from Netflix with membership. http://www.starz.com/originals/PartyDown

I’m also really getting into web series like Web Therapy with Lisa Kudrow and Dorm Life – very sad the season is over:( There is some pretty good content out there, you just have to look for it.

Btw – @GMMR I’m wondering what the mood will be like at TCA this year…
