I’m assuming that they are time traveling — so maybe they have appeared throughout many points of time in our world, but have done so within a short timeframe in their own world.

The observers dont appear to age, but the leader was clearly older in appearence then the others. So how old would that make him?

Holy crap, I am a bad blogger!! — the month thing totally escaped me — thanks, Katina!! But I love Kimber’s idea that there might be 12 Observers/1 for each month.

eelizbic — I do remember that someone (Walter?) had questioned Olivia about seeing Peter’s “medical history” in the chart but I don’t remember it specifically being revealed that he had leukemia, but that does kind of ring a bell. So maybe September(!!) did save them both, just like Walter told Peter, making both Peter and Walter important…ahhhh, my brain is starting to hurt…

Regarding the Observer (September) saving Walter and Peter…I thought the whole frozen lake story was a metaphor. Didn’t we find out that Peter had leukemia as a child and was always sick? I assumed he died of leukemia and then the Observer helped Walter take the Peter in the other world–either because Peter is important, or because Walter is important but would not have lived up to his potential after the loss of his son…

Does this fit with what others recall of Walter’s reminiscences of Peter’s youth?

Hmm. So August and September are two of The Observers, then? I wonder if there are 12 in total, named for the months of the year? Or is it a coincidence that two have consecutive month names.

O1′s name is September. They didn’t use it in the episode, but I remember reading something him being named that early on. I’ll try to find it and link you.

Your last bulleted point is a good one. At first I assumed they meant Ella, and not Olivia. I also thought the rollercoaster was going to derail, which it obviously did not. Perhaps Ella will have more of a role to play in upcoming episodes. I’ll theorize that it may have something to do with Massive Dynamics, and Olivia being “experimented on” as a kid. Maybe Olivia has some power (seeing as she is “the one”) and maybe Ella has some of this power too?? Just my crackpot theory of the day.

I liked this episode, and I really enjoyed The Observer(s). August was great, and I loved his drive to save Christine (totally kept thinking of her as Rachel in my head, because the actress reminded me of Lea MIchele, of Glee).

Oh, and can I mentioned Walter and the milkshakes? Totally awesome!

Thanks..that was really bugging me! Clearly there was no drilling going on while you were watching last night. Did they call any of the other Observers by name?…would be nice to ditch the whole O1/O2 thing…

August was O2’s name. The other Observers said it their meeting about his actions.

The Observers observe major happenings, which is why O2 was at the bridge collapse in 1989. They don’t seem to just wander around.

I think O1 was there to observe the Walter/Peter car accident. My theory is the was important enough to warrant an Observer because it led to Walter kidnapping Peter from Alt Earth and this is a (or the) factor in the coming Storm.
