While I like Entourage in a guilty pleasure sort of way (although I haven't seen the latest season), I don't think it's ever deserved to get an Emmy/Golden Globe. Personally, I really don't feel the last year of 30 Rock was all that exceptional, either.
I'm assuming that Golden Globe looks at the year of 2009, rather than the seasons that the Emmys consider. So it's kind of odd to be thinking of shows in terms of two half-seasons, rather than a full season.

Yay for Glee! Here's hoping the cast will win big at the awards. I think all of the individual actors who received nods could and SHOULD take their categories, especially the amazing Jane Lynch! And that's how Kimber ... "C"s it!

While a lot of the TV noms made me smile, such as Glee, Dexter (seriously Michael C. Hall needs to win this time), Mad Men, True Blood, Big Love...

...I have a few issues, namely the lack of Lost and absence of Friday Night Lights and Sons of Anarchy. Ridiculous. I feel that any three of those shows deserves to be in the best drama category over House. Plus, it totally sucks that both Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton continue to be overlooked.

Big Bang Theory is the #1 comedy in the ratings by share, but not "TV's most watched comedy." Amazingly, Two and a Half Men still draws more total viewers, just doesn't get as big a share or net as many in the key 18-49 demo.

I wonder if FNL's 3rd season was considered here, or the hand-ful of episodes that have already aired on DirecTV so far in the 4th season. While last season was exceptional, the 4th season so far has been truly incredible. "The Son" was quite possibly the best hour of television I've ever seen. Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton belong on among the list of nominees, but Zach Gilford should be in the supporting category for that episode alone.

I'm pumped about the nominations for Glee and Modern Family, as well. The TV Comedy races are jam-packed with talent (with a very few head-scratchers in there).

Lea Michele FTW! How many episodes is this based on? If it's more than just the spring premiere, then Glee for the best comedy!

This the is year. This is the year.

If Michael C. Hall does not win best actor this year I might just have to shoot myself.

He has been snubbed for years now and he SOOOOOO DESERVES IT.

And this year --- with all the hype, with John Lithgow's equally awesome performance --- HE JUST HAS TO WIN.

If he doesn't, then I'll have completely lost all my faith in the Golden Globes.

And I agree with you Kath about the FNL snubs. I just caught up with the show completely last month and Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton just completely make that show. They are fantastic and one of my new favorite couples on television.

To get the obvious out of the way, who does FNL have to...ahem...service, to get some award recognition??? Connie Britton should have Anna Paquin's nom - I'm a major (and very new) True Blood fan, but I totally agree with Kath - she's the weakest link (to be fair, the supporting cast is pretty universally fantastic). And Kyle Chandler just needs to be on there too. And the show itself. Okay....enough - I feel like a broken record every time tv noms are announced.

Yay for Glee and the nominated castmembers. Jane Lynch should own her category, and I wouldn't be surpised either if Lea Michelle won. I am also rooting for Matthew Morrison, as much as I love some of the others, for the "finding out" scene alone. That was some powerful acting right there. He's been really outstanding the past few weeks.

I also agree that Entourage needs to go away as does Jeremy Piven, and that Jim Parsons' name should be up there. And Party Down could kick Entourage's ass while blindfolded and with both hands tied behind it's back.

D'ya think that all of the accolades being thrown at cable shows are giving any hints to the networks that original, well-written, well-acted scripted programming is still where it's at, despite the fact that the networks seem hellbent on torturing us with endless reality programming and 42 versions of CSI? Doubt it.

Breaking bad is not on the list? WTF??
OK I offically hate Entourage and want it off the air. Stop freaking take up spots you do not deserve anymore on any and all award shows.

I'm pumped to see Modern Family up there. If they upset The Office it won't make me as made as when 30 Rock.

Also happy to see Julianna getting noticed for The Good Wife. Still loving that one.
