AMERICAN IDOL Top 10 Girls Perform

If that’s what Crystal Bowersox is capable of after coming out of the hospital, then the other ladies in the Top 10 really have no excuses. Bow-er-sox! Bow-er-sox!
Echoing what one of the judges said last night, there are a few girls this season that are really helping to reinvent what AMERICAN IDOL is all about. IDOL has turned out some amazing artists with real talent, but there is a different kind of authenticity this season.
IDOL has made some changes over the past few seasons in an attempt to stay fresh and new, but this year it’s the contestants that are reinvigorating the show and helping it to stay relevant.
Right now it might be less than a handful of contestants that are leading the charge, but I have a feeling that they are going to force those around them to raise their game. Those of us watching at home will be the beneficiaries.

While you check out tonight’s TV lineup, I’m going to go back to bed and try to feel better. My head has been pounding, my throat is scratchy and I’ve been a walking Katy Perry song for the past 24 hours with this fever. But I’m not full on sick yet so I’m still fighting through it. I’m getting the new puppy tomorrow so I’m determined to not let this cold get the better of me.
Check out some of the highlights of tonight’s TV schedule below and leave a comment to let me know what YOU are watching. Are you on Twitter? Let me know by messaging me @gmmrtv

AMERICAN IDOL Top 10 Guys Performance

Don’t be mistaken by the long blonde hair and the pretty eyelashes, that was in fact Casey James on your screen tonight. For this week only the guys and the girls switched performance nights. Seems Crystal Bowersox is sick and wouldn’t be able to perform. She was taken to the hospital and wasn’t cleared to perform tonight by the doctors. Hope Bow-er-sox gets well soon! Rather than risk losing one of their top females, the producers just pulled a switch-a-roo. Now I have to wonder if they’d make the same move if say Lacey Brown were too sick to sing. Hmmm.
Well tonight you can call me Crystal Bowersox, because I too am sick. You know how I love breaking down each of the IDOL performances, but this week I just don’t have it in me. I’ll try to pull it together by tomorrow but I can’t make any promises. This cold is starting to kick my ass.
But I did watch all of the guys perform tonight. There certainly were some hits and misses. Here are my quick notes of the good, the bad and the ugly of tonight.
- Michael Lynche: A definite improvement over last week. Perhaps the best we’ve ever heard from Michael. He really showed me something this week. He owned his entire performance. I still think he lacks the charisma to be in a competition of this level.
- John Park: Is this the same guy we saw last week? I don’t think so. I think this is the John Park we saw in his memorable audition. He looked more comfortable and there was such a richness to his voice tonight. Will it be a standout performance of the night? I’m not sure, but after the train wreck of last week I’ll take a song that I can listen to without my ears bleeding.
- Casey James: I actually didn’t like this performance as much as I enjoyed Casey’s song last week. I felt like he was rushing through the vocals to get to his guitar solo. It was almost as if he wasn’t breathing properly and he could barely get out the lines of each verse. He’ll make it on to next week for sure, but I didn’t love it. Can someone tell him to wipe that grin off his face while he sings? Um, Kara…just because you embarrassed yourself fawning all over this guy last week it doesn’t mean you have to be extra bitchy with him. Casey took two steps back in Kara’s book but she set herself back about 50 with that movie.
CHUCK vs. The Fake Name

It’s been quite a few weeks for fans of CHUCK. A roller coaster of emotion if you will. Perhaps I was a little too, shall we say impatient, with the small faction of CHUCK fans who made such a fuss after “Chuck vs. the Mask”. Maybe I was defensive and too protective of my show. While I do believe entertainment is subjective and that everyone has a right to their own opinion, I think I took umbrage with the most vocal of naysayers because I felt that CHUCK was being put in a very specific box. Whether it was true or just my perception, it seemed that the loudest noise was coming from those who didn’t like the direction of the Chuck and Sarah relationship.
To me, CHUCK has never been just about the relationship of Chuck Bartowski and his handler. It’s been about the relationship of Chuck to his friends, his family and his co-workers in light of this massive responsibility called the Intersect being forced on him. It’s been about how Chuck navigated his old life while living in a new life which was about as different as he could possibly imagine. Through his adventures he fell in love with Sarah Walker, and she him. While Chuck and Sarah’s relationship is crucial to the core of the show, it’s not the only important relationship. And while I know that the Hannah/Shaw wedge wasn’t the only issue some fans with the last episode, it seemed to be at the core. As someone who has seen the next three episodes, I just ask that you jump in your “ship” and go with the flow. See where the writers take Chuck, Sarah and us. As we saw in last night’s episode, sometimes a person’s motivations tell us a lot more than their actions.
Ok enough living in the past, let’s talk mobsters, cavities and all things Sam!

Jimmy discovered a stairwell but the sitars mysteriously led him back to the same floor. Will they find their way off the floor or be stranded forever?

Episode #2
24 – Day 8: 1:00am – 2:00am

Another solid episode where the action kept moving and we thankfully got to see more of the President. I’ll take it.
Before we get started, can I say that my distrust has shifted from Arlo to Rob? Arlo was on my radar, but after his peculiar reaction when he found out that Jack would be running point on rescuing Farhad, I’ve put him in my doghouse. Who knows what his motives would be, but not having had the job until recently reeks of a “24” plot twist later on.
Debrief
- Farhad is still hiding as Jack leads a team to rescue him. As the terrorists get closer, he foolishly tries to escape and is shot. They fail to save him. Jack decides to fool the terrorists into thinking Farhad is still alive to draw them out.
- Dana and Cole decide to destroy the van and get rid of the bodies. That’s about it.
- Kayla finds Ali, who has been arrested by President Hassan. Ali knows someone who will help him escape and plans to meet with her later. They run off together eventually and Hassan calls his now-estranged wife to come back and help find them.
- The terrorists enlist Marcos to finish off Farhad at the hospital where he’s been transported. He called his mother first, asking her to leave the city. Jack leads an inexperienced tactical team in apprehending Marcos and disarming the bomb he had strapped to his chest. He flees into a hyperbaric chamber where he will attempt to detonate the bomb manually and kill himself before he killed his chapter.
Agent Philboy’s Assessment
I feel like this was the fastest moving episode of the season, with a lot of time spent in the right places to keep you on the proverbial edge of your seat. I was very thankful that we got to see more of President Taylor tonight. Overall, Cherry Jones has been underutilized this season and hopefully as the possibility of an attack on U.S. soil grows, she will play a much bigger role in things. Also, since her Chief of Staff is probably the mole working against her, that will have to come to the fore as well.

Robert Pattinson on LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON
March 2, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Twilight star Robert Pattinson stopped by to chat with Jimmy Fallon last night about his new film Remember Me (opening March 12th). Rob was a good sport and played along with Jimmy, going as far as to climb into a tree for a new “Robert is Bothered” skit. While Edward Cullen had no problem scaling trees, I don’t think Rob was too happy about it. The guy looked scared out of his mind. I’m sure the hurricane-like winds in NYC yesterday while they were shooting didn’t help the situation.
Enjoy “Robert Pattinson is Double-Bothered” and then watch as Jimmy welcomes him to the LATE NIGHT couch. (Note to the movie’s publicist…I think Rob needs some crib notes on what the movie is about. He seemed at a bit of a loss.)
Who is the Next BACHELORETTE?

Looking for love in all the wrong places…looking for love.
What better way to find a normal, stable relationship than on reality TV. That’s just what the next BACHELORETTE is hoping to do. Ok, she’s probably just looking to extend her 15 minutes of fame, but dating 25 guys at once isn’t the worst way to go about it (or is it?)

Who is on the Next DANCING WITH THE STARS?

Filed under #1 featured, Dancing with the Stars
Check out the latest “stars” who will be hoofing it along with the pros on the next season of DANCING WITH THE STARS which premieres on Monday, March 22nd. Not that I’ll be watching the show at all, but not a terrible group of “stars”. They’ve done worse.
- Pamela Anderson – Actress, “Baywatch”
- Chad Ochocinco -NFL player (Cincinnati Bengals)
- Aiden Turner – Actor, “All My Children.”
- Kate Gosselin, – Reality TV Star, “Jon and KatePlus 8″
- Shannen Doherty – “Actress, Beverly Hills90210″ and “Charmed”
- Buzz Aldrin – Astronaut
- Evan Lysacek –2010 Olympic Gold Medal winner in Men’s Figure Skatin
- Erin Andrews – ESPN sportscaster
- Nicole Scherzinger – Singer, “Pussycast Dolls”
- Niecy Nash – Actress/Comedian “Reno 911″
- Jake Pavelka – this year’s The Bachelor
A few thoughts on some of next season’s stars….
- Anyone else wondering how a mother of 8 is going to handle living in L.A. and dancing from morning until night 5-6 days a week? Good things Kate Gosselin always put the needs of her kids before her own need to be famous.
- I know Ballroom dancing is a different beast, but doesn’t Nicole Scherzinger have a bit of an advantage. The Pussycast Dolls are singers and dancers. You have to have a certain aptitude for choreography. Sketchy.
- Jake? Really? Because he wasn’t overexposed enough on ABC this year?
- You’re thinking it so I’ll say it. How the hell is Pam Anderson going to dance with those huge boobs? That’s a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
- A softer side of Shannen Doherty. Interesting career move for her. I just hope she doesn’t show up in the same dress as another dancer. If so, back the hell up!
- Aiden Turner? Another ABC soap actor who will inevitably draw a lot of votes from the loyal soapers? Let’s not forget how Kelly Monaco won.
- If Niecy Nash is doing DWTS, does that mean show won’t be available to guest judge on RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE? If so…booo!
- Sorry, I can’t root for a guy that legally changed his last name to reflect his football jersey number. What a douche.
- Even if he’s terrible America will keep Buzz Aldrin around for a few weeks. Patronizing Patriotism.
- The Olympics are finally off my TV and now they are bringing Evan Lysacek back on? WE WANT JOHNNY WEIR!!
- I guess being spied on and violated by some pervert isn’t all that bad. Erin Andrews exploited her misfortune all the way on to the cast of DWTS. What? You think she would have been offered the spot had she not gone through all that?

SMALLVILLE: Conspiracy

My bad. So sorry I’m just getting this week’s SMALLVILLE recap up. Sarah was kind enough to get it to me this weekend and I think I might have accidentally erased it.
Hey Smallville fans! How did you like the last episode before we go on yet another break? I have to say I wasn’t exactly in love with it. Better days ahead though! Mrs. Kent and Perry White will be appearing when the show returns and possibly word on Lex and his whereabouts will be coming down the pike as well. The only thing that had me holding on Conspiracy was the changes between Zod and Clark this episode and Chloe and Oliver’s relationship was also interesting. Looks like the season’s turmoil is changing from what it once was.
This week’s chaos came by way of Dr.Bernard Chisholm and his mission to expose aliens living on Earth. Chisholm had the Kandorians and Clark in a panic after he began abducting the powerless beings from CK’s home planet. Clark, who has been busy trying to help his people find their place on Earth without powers, ends up trying to track down the mad man behind this. His previous struggle over resurrecting the towers to bring the red sun into place is now at a stand still since they were conveniently burned to the ground without an explanation! Also involved in this week’s conflict was Lois. Chisholm promises her a great front page headline, just what she needs right now.
