BONES Season 5 Rewind

Oh FOX, how I adore the fact that even with no new footage — at least no footage that you’re willing to show — you keep giving us new BONES promos.
Sure, this video wouldn’t be conducive to new scenes — it is a recap of last season, after all — but one of these days we’ll get our new material.
In the meantime, this promo is excellent. Sums up where we left the key romantic relationships at the end of season 5 in just a matter of minutes.
The most interesting part of the promo for me? Cam’s line to Booth about being sure of his feelings for Brennan, because if “you crack that shell and change your mind, she’ll die of loneliness before she ever trusts anyone again” — cut between scenes of the 100th episode ending (aka where he possibly might have cracked that shell) and the 101st episode, where there was a considerable distance between the duo.
Isn’t that what a lot of fans are worried about in season 6? That Brennan will start to doubt the legitimacy of Booth’s feelings?

This isn’t a promo for the new season. I wish people would stop tweeting about it. I want to see new scenes.
Pam, she just plainly stated above that this is not a new promo. Chill.
Honestly, I’m not looking forward to season 6. I have not seen or heard anything that has me wanting to watch this next season. Bones has become too depressing to watch. I used to watch to ecsape and be entertained. The writing has gone downhill, and the character’s integrity has deteriorated. How they wrote the character’s in the pilot, are no longer what we are seeing now. Bones isn’t original and unique anymore. It is now just about poor reused storylines, and unrealist characterization of its characters. It has lost its charm, and I am sad about this. I need a new show to watch and love this fall. Do you have any recommendations Marissa?
I am really looking forward to, and at the same time am apprehensive of what season 6 will bring. Hart has stated he thinks that the series could go on for 8 seasons and that he has no inclination to get the characters together in the final episode… I feel it’s inevitable. I know you want to bait the audience and keep them wanting more but it’s been 6 years. It has to crack, something else has to happen to force the dam open – some of the development has been amazing between the leads, but will we be starting over in season 6? I think the riot that would be caused by another entire season being devoted to will they or won’t they will drive people away. I know there are people who don’t want them together, but it’s been hinted at for years, now is time for the follow through. Brennan will be crushed the first half of the 6th season and I’m not sure how much of that I can take, her retreating back to untrusting, cold and technical.
Also there are so many unresolved issues. How come no one talks about the fact that Zach is in a psych ward for a crime he didn’t commit? How about how Sweets is feeling about keeping this secret from them? What the hell does Cam do on her off days? Where are Brennan’s family? Booth’s family? More backstory on Angela and Hodgins? A new, good psychological serial killer (like Epps!) to jumpstart a good arc…
The season premiere of season 5 left me with so much hope. It harkened back to the premiere of the series, seeing the characters working together, in and outside the lab and also holding that delicate balance of the relationships. Nearly every episode after that I wanted to throw my shoes at the TV. I’m glad that Angela and Hodgins got together – awesome. But the series is about two things. 1) The entire team. A team that in two successive seasons has been ripped apart. 2) Booth and Brennan. Having a couple together (especially one with as many issues as you can think of to work through) has been done before – are you going to leave us hanging until the end of season 6?
I can’t WAIT till the new season. Bones is one of those shows where I just really, really trust the producers, the cast, everyone to make a great show. I just hope Sweets doesn’t get back together with Daisy, I can’t stand that girl.
@MinnKim: While I’d definitely suggest tuning in to season six, I never turn down the chance to recommend FRINGE and CASTLE. Both have started out excellently and their respective third seasons seem to be shaping up just as well.
Thought the recap of Season 5 was really good. I’m looking forward to Season 6. Can’t wait. I read somewhere that HH says they are getting back to the type of storylines of the past seasons. It doesn’t bother me that Booth and Brennan aren’t together yet. I like the tension and angst it produces. They will be eventually and it will be great. I love the show and I’ll keep watching.

I’m not worried. Even if Brennan does doubt what Booth said on that glorious day, Booth will right that wrong. Eventually he’d realize what it is she’s seeing and, I think, do everything he can to prove his love if he thinks that she might be ready for him in return. Everything happens eventually. I trust Hart & co.
Need to see this now; love this serie I know it read so gay but its true… I don’t know if Brenna will open her heart to Booth but I want to think that she will… Just want to see 6 season now hell yeah!
@MinnKim: I have to second Marisa’s suggestion of the show CASTLE. I absolutely adore that show.
I don’t remeber where but I read about that it will be 2 more season of Bones so…
It’s interesting to see that there are still some who believe in Santa Claus. This promo seems simply to be setting up the Hannah Birley storyline and Brennan’s eventual jealousy. Instead of two people who choose each other despite all the tempting options available, Hart has turned Booth and Brennan into two people who at some time in a distant future default to each other because they’ve exhausted all other options. Dig didn’t work out; romance didn’t work out. Keep doing it over and over until the sands of the season run down and then we’ll put them together.
I would be so happy to be able to look forward to season 6 with expectation but so far all it seems to be is spinning out a relationship until the writers and their characters have exhausted all their options, more than once, and the couple comes together with an anti-climactic shrug of ‘who cares’.
OMG! Can’t wait to see the new season of BONES i know they are going to marrie they have to they are ment for each other 🙂

i love bones, and everyone in it! everyone is so different in their own way, even daisy! yeah, people should give her character a break. she has her own quirky little character and i think it adds something to the show. absolutely LOVE booth and brennan and angela and cam. love it all! can’t wait for season 6
i am really looking forward to the new season, this is the first time in my life tht i have been so impatient for the new show and i am really looking forward to new storylines tht bring bones and booth closer together
and as far as booth’s new girlfriend, i think tht sounds interesting even though i think im gonna hate tht character cuz shes gonna make bones so jealous but at the same time i think its one of those things where it make in entertaining to watch bones possibly realize what she missed out on tht night of the 100th episode.
i agree with jeintheD that they need to resolve these issues like the secret sweets is keeping from everyone about zach and they need to show the team in a place other than the lab, like for example they stopped mentioning cam’s personal life and her daughter-related issues. i just think we need to know more about the rest of the characters’ personal lives and out-of-work interactions with each other.
so overall i think the main thing of this show is bones and booth and although that idea is not very original (like X Files and other shows like this) i dont think it really needs to be, its more about character development and even if the story lines ahve been done before, they are more meant to bring them 2 together or more in general, the entire team together, so if your looking for a show with great and original story lines, try watching shows like Angel or Lost or something (great shows by the way)
anyways i am super duper excited about season 6 and i hope they continue to the 8th season and i dont want them to get together until the end (not the last episode but maybe the last half of the last season like HH promised us)
Season 5 was brilliant yet how could they not kiss at the end is beyond my understanding.Im afraid to watch season 6 – as somebody said here – its been 6 years something has to happen…

I completely agree with JenintheD about the unresolved issues. I’m not watching this show solely because of Booth & Brennan — I love ALL of the characters, and I wish we saw them more, rather than more will-they-won’t-they drama with Booth & Brennan. I fully understand not wanting to get them together yet, but focusing on those 2 characters 90% of the time and not putting them together…it stretches the limits of believability. Spending some time focused on the other characters takes the pressure off the Booth/Brennan situation and keeps it plausible. And dammit, I miss Zach! Bring him back already.
I really wish they explored Cam’s character more. When she was first introduced it was hinted she and Booth had a relationship. Now she has a daughter. Her character seems to decline in importance with each episode, when her story is one of the more compelling ones.
I would love to see Zach back. Booth and Bones are not the only characters in the show. The show works because of the intaction of everyone. The writers are great, but they need to keep the characters growing and maturing. I also agree that Sweets doesn’t need that crazy girlfried back, unless you tone her down alittle, she is just awful.
I love this show, all the characters have a special sex appeal about them. I really am not to fond of Daisy or her name. Sweets deserves someone more sophisticated. Send Daisy to School and change her personality.

But I would like to say that I loved your comment, @JenintheD (good points).
And I kinda felt like you do, @EL. I’d love to care because I admire ED, and the rest of the cast as actors. And the witty dialogue, but that’s not enough for me anymore. I am done with ‘shiny baubles’. But I hope real fans, the normal people will love the witty dialogue, good writing, great storylines, amazing acting, best music, and the “journey” of finding the real purpose of life – love, family, and all that. The characters growing as persons, and everything else that makes them human. (I wish I could see it all this way, but I can’t. But you all should. Because it’s wrong to not love this awesome, real, story.) But remember: patience. everything happens eventually. fairytale. the end.
I can’t wait for the season to start again! I would love to see Zack back in the lab, he was so amusing! I still watch all of the old reruns of Bones, don’t care if I have seen them once or 100 times!
Screw new scenes I want to see the new season!!!!! This is my favorite show ever!
I am looking forward to Season 6… sort of. I love the show but I just don’t know if I can take watching Booth with someone else. No one does non-verbal sadness like Emily Deschannel and it will be heart crushing to see Booth “fall in love” with someone who isn’t Brennan, and have Brennan realize, albeit slowly, that she made a mistake and can’t compartmentalize this. Of course it won’t last – Booth and Brennan are meant to be together and I am certain Hart Hanson has every intention of getting them together, but the waiting is just too much some times. The rational side of me (if you will) says that this is what Brennan needs to make her understand – I really think she needs to be the one to make the first move. But as much as I love a half and/or totally naked DB/Booth, I don’t want to see him with anyone but Brennan.
Well, I want them together, maybe still guessing and testing the waters, but if they don’t stay, Bones and Booth won’t be Bones and Booth! They will be just F.B.I / SCIENTIST and I don’t like seeing them with anyone else, I like things the way they are and I wish Bones will last another 10 yrs atleast, its awesome, interesting and intriguing, an on going love story and detective show in one, everything I could ask for, my favorites.
I watched the promo for the 6th season and although it didn’t have any new scenes, I am still excited about the new season. My husband and I watch this show together all the time, even the reruns. We would love to see Booth and Brennan get together and if it’s done well, it could open a whole new direction for the story to go in the future. I do agree that in order to make the show more rounded, we should see more about all the characters. We have wondered about the unresolved issues with Zach and Sweets but I think that will all come out in time. Can’t wait until the new season starts!
Worst case scenario they stay friends I am hoping they will be together but I don’t see how the directors will allow them to be together and convince me that the show has any substance. It will be kind of wishy washy unless something bad happens to one of them and they are forced to make a life change one that will bring them closer together. I think when he had the brain surgery thay missed the best oppurtunity to start changing the relationship. I want to see them together but only if it’s done right.
Am a fan of the show, and think that the relationship between Bones and Booth should remain as is. My only wish is, that the producers make Booth look like he’s driving a car instead of primarily focusing on acting, because if he actually drove a car in real life like he drives on the show, he and Bones would more than likely have been killed or mortally injured in a car accident.

I luv Bones it is my favorite show.The characters,the chemistry it all works for me.
I don’t mean to sound negative because i LOVE this show, but I have read that a character is going to be killed this season….so Booth is going to Iraq…they are to meet one year later. The show’s writers have been DRAGGING out the potential romance..and if they in fact get together on the show….what is there to look forward to? AS far as that story line goes anyway. So my opinion is that they are going to have Booth’s character killed in Iraq. Then it never goes either way, because they will never have the chance.
Bones and Booth together finally? I’m afraid thats what Fox wants us to think because they know that’s what we are all waiting for. It will be like Ross and Rachel finally getting together on Friends. We all wanted them together and how did the season end……with them finally being a couple. I have a feeling that is how Bones will end. I am more worried about Booth going off to Afghanistan and making the plan to meet Breenan at the reflection pool in four years. They better not kill him off!!!! Better yet Breenan better not say no like she did in the clip….what is she thinking?

I love this show! The previews look exciting but I hate to see Booth and Brennan break away…I started watching Bones because of David. I have been a Buffy fan and of course an Angel fan…David is a heartrob! As a vampire he was awesome and I love him as Agent Booth too…aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh..HOT STUFF! On the other end…I really enjoy Bones…good show, interesting and full of emotions and personalities. I love the scientific part of the show as well as the investigations side. All around entertaining and looking forward to see what the new season has to offer.
okay season 5 was good, i wonder what gonna happen with that “grave digger” will she be back in season 6?
The finale, so sad and yet so hopeful. I am seriously looking forward to this season but like it was mentioned before i want to see what happens with Zak..uh hello..what about his story line, not to mention i love the main cast but get rid of daisy and please please bring back zak he finalizes the show and all the story lines…anywho, i do know that in this season to come i would love to see some flash backs into there “year off” where they went.. what they did yada yada..bottom line, booth and bones have got to get together before the entire show shuts done or ill scream. this show to me is like another “friends” tv show love it cant live too long without it but all things come to an end and i do hope however its in the favor.. and one to always remember!!
I think that they are making brennan and booth go around in circles… I mean they should’ve just left it at season 5, 6 being the most… I don’t think I could continue watching how brennan tortures booth and herself all at once. They should just give each other a chance, and see if it works, although all together I guess if they did get together, we would focus on them and not on the cases at hand. To be honest the series is based on how Anthropology is used to help crack cases. They just wanted to spice it up a bit, by adding romance to keep viewers interested.
As much as I want the two of them to be together…I hope they won’t! We all know that would meat the end of the show! And I like it a lot!
They need to find something else to keep the show going…and that is not Booth and Bones…and they need somehow to keep the sparks going with the two of them.

I can’t wait for Season 6 to start. I love Bones. I watch all the reruns on TNT every night it is on even if I have already seen the episode and know it by heart. I love watching the sizzle between Booth and Brennan. Keep it coming FOX you have a great show here .
Everyone wants a happy ending, The main characters already know each other but disagree, regardless of attraction. Sometimes thats the way life is. Deal with it.

I think Season 6 will be good. The writers will not disappoint and Booth and Brennan will end up together. Look at Angela and Hodgins relationship. They were apart and pretended like they didn’t care, but they still had chemistry and they got back together. I think that Brennan seeing them being married since she’s best friends with Angela might help her change her opinion on marriage. And I think that Hannah will probably be like Cam. We won’t like her, but she will only show up occasionally, and she’ll be gone by halfway through the season – or just not with Booth anymore. This entire show is based on Brennan and Booth’s chemistry (and the rest of the team) the writers aren’t just going to throw it away. It will be there. We’ll just have to keep watching. They weren’t ready to be together. They will be ready, at one point, but she does need to actively go after him. Or even just admit to herself (let alone anyone else) that she loves him. Booth had to admit to multiple people that he loved Brennan, before he ever told her. They love each other, they will always be there for each other. Booth may have a new girlfriend, he may want to love her, believe he should love her (the new gf) but she isn’t going to replace Brennan. It’s that simple. She’s going to make Brennan jealous.
I used to love this show too but it has gone downhill bigtime. It got stupid after that episode with booth in a coma and dreaming about the bar they runned. Should be more drama and less soap opera.
