Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Wednesday, September 29, 2010

September 29, 2010 by

Eat a healthy lunch. Take a 2 p.m. siesta if you can. There’s a lot of TV to watch tonight and I don’t want any of you falling asleep too early.

Here are a few highlights from this evening’s TV lineup…

The Middle | 8pm on ABC
“Homecoming”
Mike and Frankie must decide whether to attend Axl’s football game or Sue’s first cross-country meet; after raking the yard, Brick wants to set the leaves free in the forest.

“Glitter in the Eyes”
A battle erupts over a clue to the hidden immunity idol; a fearless competitor makes a bold move to earn an upper hand.

Undercovers | 8pm on NBC
“Instructions”
Steven and Samantha must rescue a scientist who is kidnapped by the security detail that was hired to protect her. [GMMR: Did you watch the premiere last week? I’d love to hear from those who have added UNDERCOVERS to their Wednesday night schedule.]

America’s Next Top Model | 8pm on The CW
“Matthew Rolston”
The contestants pose while riding a roller coaster; Matthew Rolston photographs the models underwater and serves as a guest judge.

Hell’s Kitchen | 8pm on Fox
“Breakfast”

The contestants must prepare a fast and delicious breakfast for 50 EMTs and learn how to prepare a ravioli dish from scratch; a contestant infuriates chef Ramsay.

Better With You | 8:30pm on ABC
“Better With Firehouse”
When they go house hunting, Casey’s unusual taste in homes concerns Mia; Vicky finds that recently retired Joel is getting on her nerves because he doesn’t know what to do with his newfound free time.[GMMR: I watched the series premiere for the second time last week, but I still can’t stand Casey. He ruins the show for me. Too bad because I really like Joanna Garcia.]

Modern Family | 9pm on ABC
“The Kiss”
Gloria decides to honor her late grandmother by cooking more traditional Colombian meals; Claire finds out Alex is interested in a boy; Mitchell’s aversion to public displays of affection causes an argument.. [GMMR: Cam and Mitchell kiss.  Here’s to hoping everyone can shut up about it now. Seriously, an utterly positive representation of a loving gay relationship on TV and people have been bitching that the two guys haven’t made out on screen yet.  Guess what…Jay and Gloria haven’t either.]

Law & Order: SVU | 9pm on NBC

I’ll be tuning in to PBS tonight to watch the second half of Ken Burns’ “Baseball:The Tenth Inning”
The entire documentary is amazing, and this newest addition is just as great.

Additionally, I liked ‘The Whole Truth’ enough last week that I might tune in again this week. It’s not set on the DVR or anything, but I thought it was pretty solid, for a pilot. We’ll see if the writing gets better or worse.
