CASTLE’s Nathan Fillion: Beckett Blew It
September 20, 2010 by Marisa Roffman
Many CASTLE fans were heartbroken at the end of season 2 when an oblivious Castle interrupted Beckett’s plans to confess her feelings for him, announcing that he was back together with his ex-wife.
Yeah, it still wounds us a little, too.
And when the duo reunites in tonight’s third season premiere, Castle won’t quite understand why Beckett is so annoyed with him.
CHUCK Executive Producer Chris Fedak Tells Us What’s in Store in Season 4
September 20, 2010 by Kath Skerry
Filed under #1 featured, Chuck, Chuck Spoilers
It’s been a long time coming, but CHUCK is back tonight for its fourth season premiere!
Um, I can’t hear you…I said CHUCK is back tonight!!
GIVE ME MY REMOTE recently sat down with Executive Producer Chris Fedak (and Josh Schwartz, too, via his super secret spy phone from deep inside Castle) to talk about this season of the show, what adventures are in store for Team Bartowski, the fate of Sarah and Chuck, the famous faces who will be guest starring and much more.
We don’t want to give it all away today, so be sure to stay tuned to GMMR for much more of our CHUCK chats coming soon…
Today we’re kicking things off with a discussion on what Chuck and his band of merry men will be up to when the show returns this evening at 8 p.m. on NBC, but we also asked about the “big bad” of Season 4:
“At the heart of this season is Chuck’s search for his mom,” says Fedak. And what a search it will be. In tonight’s season premiere, viewers will see Chuck and Morgan go on a globe-spanning journey trying to find Mama Bartowski. “The CIA isn’t all excited about people going on their own personal quests on the government dime,” Fedak tell us, which is why Morgan needs to step up his game and help his best friend. Without Sarah and Casey by his side, Chuck needs all the help he can get.
Complicating matters is Chuck’s promise to Ellie that he’s left the spy life behind. How does he keep his secrets from her and can he keep it up? That remains to be seen.
Ellie and Devon have a new adventure of their own this season…a baby. How “awesome” is that?
But it’s not just the Drs. Woodcomb that are dealing with parenthood this season. No, Chuck and Sarah aren’t on the baby train, so relax. But John Casey is a newbie Dad. His daughter might be all grown up, however John is just getting to know her. And talk about protective fathers…good luck to the guy Alex brings home.
Can you imagine if it was someone like Morgan Grimes?
Hmm…
With all his spy hijinks, will Morgan have time for a new lady love? The Bearded One certainly has stepped up his game this season. No longer the slacker hanging out at the Buy More, he needs to decide where he fits in on Team Bartwoski.
The last time we saw The Buy More, it was crumbling to the ground. But I’m happy to report that it’s back and better than ever. No, really it is. That’s because The Buy More is now owned and operated by The CIA. It functions as an electronics store and a front for CIA activity. Isn’t that convenient? Lester, Jeff and Big Mike will be in store, dealing with co-workers who just happen to be undercover spies…so really, nothing has changed for them.
As for the “big bad” this year, CHUCK is taking it back to the 80s and the Cold War. Yes folks, the Russians are once again the enemy. Didn’t you get the memo?
You’ll get your first look at Chuck’s Russian foes tonight when Dolph Lundren guests as Marco.
C’mon CHUCK fans. I know you’re excited! Tell us how much in the comments below.

Tonight’s BIG Premiere Week Spotlight…Monday, September 20, 2010

Tonight OFFICIALLY kicks off the 2010 Fall TV season. Can you stand it?!
With so many shows on this evening, I feel like I need some kind of advanced degree just to program my DVRs. I checked and double checked and I’m still a bit nervous something won’t record. This week I’m lucky, as I got a chance to see a few of these episodes in advance, but come next Monday and beyond…oy vey!
In honor of all the premieres, the daily ‘TV Spotlight’ post will be a little longer this week, so that we can talk about some of the new shows premiering this fall as well as my quick take on the returning favorites. Some are worth checking out; some are not worthy of the space on your DVR.
Monday nights are insane, and I so expect all of you reading this to leave a comment and let us know what YOU are watching this evening. What will you be watching LIVE, watching delayed on your DVR, or saving until later on in the week? Tell us and your fellow TV addicts in the comments below.
Chuck | 8pm on NBC | Season Premiere
“Chuck Versus the Anniversary”
Chuck and Morgan search the globe for Chuck’s mother (Linda Hamilton); Casey and Sarah track an operative (Dolph Lundgren) of the mysterious Volkoff Industries; Ellie shares big news. [GMMR: Um, can I get a YAY!! You guys are going to LOVE the season premiere of CHUCK! Chuck Bartowski might have a new mission in life, but he's the same old Chuck...just that much better at kicking ass and taking out the bad guys. Oh and saving his hot as sin girlfriend. Stay tuned to GMMR today for part one of our chat with CHUCK Executive Producer, Chris Fedak.]
How I Met Your Mother | 8pm on CBS | Season Premiere
“Big Days”
In the sixth-season opener, Ted runs into Cindy (Rachel Bilson), whom he dated briefly–and who is also the roommate of his future wife; Robin is having a difficult time getting over Don; and Marshall can’t stop talking about starting a family. [GMMR: Tonight's ep is classic HIMYM! It was really nice to see the gang together again. Oh how I've missed you, Barney Stinson...and Barney Stinson's suits. Yes, Rachel Bilson is back and her storyline might be a bit surprising, but nothing like the twist we'll be talking about after the episode. For more on this season (and a hint at tonight's twist), check out our chat with HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER creators Carter Bays & Craig Thomas.] Read more

The TV Spy Game: Which One is YOUR Favorite?
September 20, 2010 by Team GMMR

Editor’s Note: As the primetime TV landscape becomes crowded with programs centered around secret agents and clandestine missions, GMMR reader Lou W. Sytsma offered this take on the state of spy shows. Great thanks to Lou for submitting such a thought-provoking piece!
What is your all-time favorite espionage show? With choices like I Spy, Man From U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart, Mission Impossible, La Femme Nikita, and Alias to choose from, it is a difficult question to answer.
Spy shows often stand as counter programming to the more grounded cop shows. Police shows, within the dramatic sandbox that TV shows exist in, play things straight and are bound by the laws of the land. Spy shows invariably go for a more fantastical approach, ignoring or bending those structural conventions. That’s where the fun comes in…
This year, a surplus of spy programs are competing for audiences, specifically looking to attract viewers who have grown weary of traditional procedurals like the Law & Order and CSI franchises. In order to determine which show accomplishes that mission, let’s take a look at the contenders.

TRUE BLOOD and ENTOURAGE are done until next year, but tonight HBO premieres a new Sunday night show to keep us all talking. From what I’ve seen and read about BOARDWALK EMPIRE, I think this is going to be a show quite worthy of my Sunday night. Really looking forward to checking it out tonight.
With THE AMAZING RACE and BROTHERS & SISTERS not returning until next week, it looks like I have a relatively easy Sunday evening. Just sit back, relax and enjoy some stellar TV.
Here a few highlights from tonight’s TV lineup. We’d love to know what YOU plan on watching.
NFL Football | 8:15pm on NBC
“Giants vs. Colts”
Colts quarterback Peyton Manning faces his brother Eli as Indianapolis hosts the New York Giants in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The first clash came on the opening weekend of the 2006 season, when Peyton and the Colts won 26-21 at Giants Stadium.
Boardwalk Empire | 9pm on HBO | Series Premiere
“Boardwalk Empire”
In the Martin Scorsese-directed premiere of this drama set in Atlantic City at the dawn of Prohibition, political boss Enoch “Nucky” Thompson (Steve Buscemi) brokers a sale of illegal booze for visiting New York gangster Arnold Rothstein, and takes an interest in a local housewife with an abusive husband. Meanwhile, World War I veteran and Thompson protégé Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) meets a hoodlum from Chicago named Al Capone. [GMMR: Premiere night pre-show starts at 8:45pm.]
The Gates | 9 & 10pm on ABC | Season Finale
“Bad Moon Rising”;”Moving Day”
A controversial decision threatens to tear the neighborhood apart; Sarah makes a discovery about Devon; Brett reacts to the news that Charlie and Andie are back together. Devastated by recent events, the Monohans decide to leave The Gates; the Radcliffes pursue Devon; Brett desperately searches for Andie.
Rubicon | 9pm on AMC
“No Honesty in Men”
Will decides to move out of his apartment; a new analyst joins the team; Katherine reaches out to Tom’s ex-wife for answers about his past.
Mad Men | 10pm on AMC
“The Beautiful Girls”
A romantic gesture in the form of a thoughtful gift could lead to professional problems for Peggy. Stan is obnoxious when Peggy’s lesbian friend, Joyce, pays a visit to the offices.
The Glades | 10pm on A&E
“Booty”
Jim investigates the murder of a well-known treasure hunter and learns that Callie loves treasure lore, and the two go on an adventure tied to the case.
I wouldn’t say tonight’s TV is going to have you laughing in the aisles, but there’s some great drama happening on TV tonight.
With so much to choose from, let us know what YOU are watching. I’m going to watch BOARDWALK EMPIRE and MAD MEN (and the boat load of Fall screeners which I still haven’t watched. Uh oh.)

HOUSE Season Premiere: You Ask, I Answer
September 17, 2010 by Erik Wilkinson

The title of HOUSE’s Season 7 Premiere is, “Now What?” If Katie Jacobs & David Shore spent their summer on TV message boards, they would have seen that question posed with regard to the romantic pairing of Gregory House & Lisa Cuddy. For Huddy-shippers, this season could not be more eagerly anticipated. For those opposed to mixing business with pleasure, HOUSE is a candidate for deletion from their DVR’s Season Pass list.
After a sneak peek at the first two episodes of the season (yes, writing about TV has perks) this week, I set out to answer some of your burning questions about HOUSE in the era of Huddy.
Quick note of warning: Though my answers do not contain any major spoilers, there are definite hints and (hopefully) clever teases about the road ahead. Please do not read on if you would prefer to enjoy Season 7 in its pure, unspoiled form. For everyone else, the fun is just a simple click away…
