BONES: Does Booth Love Hannah?

September 30, 2010 by

As BONES fans are well aware, Booth’s new girlfriend is first appearing in tonight’s episode.

Now, Katheryn Winnick (Hannah) has already said that Hannah loves Booth, but does he love her?

Well, you may want to sit down for this. And while you’re at it, please step away from all ledges and sharp objects.

I’m going to let BONES executive producer Stephen Nathan start things off. But make sure to check out what Tamara Taylor, TJ Thyne and Michaela Conlin have to say about Hannah and her relationship with the Jeffersonian gang too…

Everyone, remember to breathe.

And to not shoot the messenger, please.

Thanks.

I think I may have to go light my TV on fire.

  2. Joy on September 30th, 2010 4:34 pm

All due respect, I don’t know why you’re telling the more rabid BB shippers to stand away from the ledges. They are going to react the same way they always react. All three videos have some great insight and I’m glad that they are taking this relationship between Booth/Hannah seriously. Booth is in love and cares for this woman. Like, it’s legit. I like that.

Oh Stephen. They love having Katheryn around and they love her lol I see why they don’t have a definite number for her. I’m sure they’ll keep her around longer than expected and I’m okay with that. I’m really excited for this Brennan/Katheryn friendship that will blossom, as well.

    Thanks for posting!

Am I the only fan out there who is looking forward to this whole Hannah thing?

Don’t get me wrong, I am a fierce Booth/Brennan ‘shipper, but I think Hannah is going to be a very good thing to push B&B in the right direction (read: eachother).

  4. Drippan on September 30th, 2010 4:41 pm

Welcome to ‘Days of our Bones’, ‘As the Bones Turns’ and “All My Bones’.

Sorry I can’t get behind this storyline/arc because the writers/producers of the series rather play the ‘soap opera’ card and make up crap as they go along.

I really wished that the series would have ended after S3 vice ruining the series the way they have it going now.

  5. Laura on September 30th, 2010 4:58 pm

Drippan – I am going to have to disagree with you. I believe that S4 and S5 were the better ones of the entire series.

But to each his own, I guess. 🙂

  6. Chris on September 30th, 2010 5:06 pm

    I don’t understand.
If Booth doesn’t love Hannah, is cheating and lying to her. So they have to make him really love Hannah. I get that.
On the other hand, if he really loves Hannah, he doesn’t love Brennan anymore, in a handful of months after he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. This proving Brennan correct that love is ephemeral and that it ends quickly.
If Booth then falls out of love with Hannah, and back with Brennan later, can they please explain what type of love is really Booth capable of?
    An on-off love??
Hannah would have been a perfect story line BEFORE Booth actually declared himself, so passionately, to Brennan. Let’s say, when Brennan was still dating men and there was still the line in place, for him as well.
Now, I can’t see how Booth can get out of the Hannah relationship honorably.
If he really loves her, fine, then let’s forget B&B, let Booth stay with her forever, and Brennan after her change will find a man who is loving her forever as well. And B&B only friends. I won’t watch, but it will leave the charachters their integrity.
Like that.. not so much. Booth loves Hannah, but he did not tell her that he was in love with Brennan and that he asked her to stay with him for life just months before he met her. Winnick confirmed that Hannah does not know, she is guessing but Booth didn’t tell her exactly what there has been between Brennan and him. So why not telling her? Why not being honest with the woman you love so much?

I am really struggling to understand here. They say Booth loves Hannah (and they cannot say otherwise) but I fail to see honesty towards her. I feel sorry for her.
And if it’s really true, then he should not stop loving her as quickly as he stopped loving Brennan.

Whatever it is, I loved to see the love between B&B, even if they were not together. Watching Booth “loving” this way, another woman. No thanks.
But glad to know someone will enjoy season 6.

  7. sandra on September 30th, 2010 5:19 pm

pushing BB in the right direction? what about epi 100? wasnt THAT a push? a turning point? what justifies this 2nd turning point now? bad writing? the belief that he can extend the show to make more money? yes imo.
putting BB together would not have been the end of things or THE SHOW. since when does life end when you’re with someone? this whole “hannah is pushing BB together” is ridiculous. with good writing, writing that displays the character they way we’ve gotten to know them through the past years, BB would already be a couple.

  8. Faith on September 30th, 2010 5:44 pm

Chris, it is quite possible to love two people at the same time. It’s also possible to fall in and out of love. I don’t get why some assume it’s not possible. It happens in real-life all of the time. He put his heart on the line for Brennan and she said “no”. There are some that will argue that, but STILL…it all comes back to she rejected him. Brennan turned him down. I’m sure Booth still loves Brennan, it’s just not in the same way. He can’t have her and he shouldn’t be expected to never fall in love with another woman, again. What? He can’t move on? He’s a grown a s s man. They were gone 7 months. That’s a long enough time to connect with someone new and fall in love.

We can’t judge Booth/Hannah’s relationship yet because we haven’t seen a single episode with those two in it. So, I don’t know where you’re coming from with “I don’t see honesty toward her”. Who’s honesty? Booth. You don’t know that. Again, we haven’t seen a single B/H scene, yet. We haven’t even seen how it unfolds as time goes by.

  9. Amanda C. on September 30th, 2010 5:53 pm

Oh Marisa! Poor you after tonight’s episode. lol
Thank you for being so supportive of Bones fans and for these lovely interviews!!

  10. alice on September 30th, 2010 6:28 pm

IF BOOTH can love hannah he never love brennan and if I WAS bones I QUIT WORKING with him/becaused he always hurt her about her social skills.

  11. al on September 30th, 2010 6:30 pm

this storyline is meant to turn a lot of fans against booth.

  12. Faith on September 30th, 2010 6:41 pm

@Al which I find ridiculous because if it was Brennan who got the SO, no one would be crying and complaining about it.

  13. Sarah on September 30th, 2010 6:55 pm

It’s not right seeing Booth in love with someone else! It means he doesn’t love Brennan as much. Even if it does push them together in the end, the relationship between B&B has been tainted IMO.

  14. N on September 30th, 2010 7:49 pm

@Faith…sorry, but most B&B shippers would be complaining if it was Brennan too with a SO! Sully ring any bells? We WANT B&B TOGETHER without the contrived, tired SO S/L for EITHER one of them….

Thanks Marrisa for the interview…you ROCK! 😀

Just really, really tired of all the Hannah pimping…enough is enough!

  15. al on September 30th, 2010 9:17 pm

FOX should not of aired those sex scene.

I am very much looking forward to this! 😀

  17. KL on September 30th, 2010 9:40 pm

I tried – I really did – to go into this episode with an open mind, but I gotta say all I felt was kind of sick in the pit of my stomach. Will I stop watching – probably not, but I can’t say that I will make sure to be in front of my TV every Thursday at 8.

  18. K.R on September 30th, 2010 9:42 pm

I totally agree with Chris and Sandra. I don’t like Booth as much as I used to anymore until Hannah is out of the picture. 7 months is too short a time to fall out of love for someone especially when Brennan has saved his life more than once. I love Brennan more now. I am getting very tired of Hannah but like the idea of Brennan and Hannah being good friends. If Hart is going to keep Hannah permanently for this show, I hope he brings in another FBI to replace Booth. Someone more good looking and ‘Hot” than Booth.

  19. BonesFan021 on September 30th, 2010 9:50 pm

I am so happy to see Booth in a relationship. Hannah seems to bring a strong women to counter Brennan (much like Tessa did in Season 1) and I can’t wait to see what happens from here on in!

  20. djoy79 on September 30th, 2010 9:50 pm

I just finished watching the ep and I have to admit it left me sad. I do believe that things had to change before they could move forward. A lot of people are angry and I can kind of see why. Theses first two eps have been hard to watch, I will admit. I am still going to have faith that my favorite show will come back to everything it should be. I have seen a ton of angry comments regarding Booth and Hannah. That’s ok, but the true fans are going to stick it out.

  21. Kath Skerry on September 30th, 2010 10:07 pm

NOTE: Hey guys – We are going to be posting a discussion post for tonight’s episode soon 🙂

  22. djoy79 on September 30th, 2010 10:27 pm

One other quick thought! DB and ED are producers on the show and have a say . Both have been very vocal about being true to the show and their fans. They may mix things up but are they going to completely let us down? I don’t think so!:o)

  23. sharonc on September 30th, 2010 10:47 pm

I went in to the episode as open minded as possible, knowing that I’m biased. After watching the episode I don’t hate Hannah, but that’s because I was completely unimpressed by her character and found myself rolling my eyes at the scenes she was in. The only scene I liked her in was her phone interaction with Hodgins. Hannah’s character needs a lot of work to be believable or ineresting. As one of the more eloquent fans put it in another forum, “telling a little backstory the way they did at the Tavern w/Hannah talking about how they met….a story like that…isn’t going to make you say …AWWWW……how cute. It’s forcing the issue. She…was boring. I’d like someone to tell me what was fun and interesting about her.”

  24. A on September 30th, 2010 11:01 pm

I am not upset that Booth has a love interest. I have no problem with him moving on….But he is being kind of a jerk and not Booth Like. He isn’t himself. I would be ok if he was dating or even in love, but Bones was not in on the interrogation with the boss, she did not go with him to see the parole, there was not a lot of B and B. I like Brennan’s new found emotion, but who is Booth. He is being a little bit of an A#%.

  25. A on September 30th, 2010 11:03 pm

Oh and What happened to Hart Hanson’s interview that said “Anybody that thinks Booth has moved on from Brennan is crazy.” SN and HH who knows what they are saying and if it means anything….

  26. Hot Blooded Bones on September 30th, 2010 11:49 pm

I really hate to be this way but after tonights epi I’m probrably done. I found nothing to look forward to with this new character in the mix I thought I might enjoy watching Brennan being jealous but not so much she just seemed sad and there are enough downers everyday without spending an hour being bummed out by someones sadness…… I didn’t like Cams attitude on this epi at all either btw her with Hodgins and her with Brennan she seemed more like the one needing some attitude adjusting . Where is WENDALL????? I honestly would sit thru the SO crap tho if they managed to bring Zach back

  27. Kate on September 30th, 2010 11:56 pm

Temperance Brennan is one of the most unique characters in TV history, in my opinion (Emily Deschanel is an amazing actress).

Frankly, I’ve just started watching Bones in the past 12 months. I am not concerned about whether Bones and Booth ” get together”. I just hope that Brennan continues to evolve and not be forced to become someone other than herself.

People comment alot about Brennan’s “social shortcomings” – yet it seems that Booth has even more “baggage” than Bones,

I think Bones will save Booth ( as I read somewhere else that one of the producers stated),

I hope the writing improves – the Season 6 episodes to date ( 2) were disappointing.

  28. rynogeny on October 1st, 2010 12:15 am

@Faith I don’t think the problem is that Booth shouldn’t be allowed to fall in love. Brennan did reject him, and he has every right to move on. The problem, I think, is that while they’re working hard to convince people he’s in love with Hannah, they’re also asking people not to give up on B/B. And that means that even while they insist Booth loves her, and succeed to the degree that at least some people believe that while he still loves Brennan he’s no longer in love with her…we assume that at some point we’re going to see a rather fickle Booth change his mind.

Can’t have it both ways. He can care about Hannah and be trying to fall completely in love with her (while still really in love with Brennan) or he’s over Brennan and completely in love with Hannah. If it’s the latter, a lot of people would rather see them abandon B/B, make Hannah permanent and bring in someone else for Brennan, because a fickle Booth who changes his mind every few months isn’t that appealing to a lot of people.

I get that they’re very focused on right now, on convincing people that’s what’s going on now is the focus, not what comes later. But the harder they work now to convince viewers he’s over Brennan, the harder they’re going to have to work someday to explain that he really wasn’t. Unless, of course, they are entertaining the idea of not getting B/B together, ever, which seems unlikely to me. Logical, but unlikely.

  29. Niko Cae on October 1st, 2010 12:16 am

I, too, went into tonight’s episode with a very open mind. When I read the spoilers a couple months ago that Booth would have a girlfriend, I was happy. I really felt that they needed to do that. Brennan needed to pine for once. So I was happy about that.

But tonight’s episode really left me feeling… I don’t know… awkward. I felt awkward for all of them. I feel like Booth is acting so strange – forcing the ‘good feelings’ that should be natural. DB can do better, but he’s awkward. And Katheryn Winnick is adorable, but she came across as forced and a little too “this is my character, I have guts and pizzazz and am nice to everyone, I’m fiery and everyone will love me… etc etc..” It didn’t feel genuine or natural.

And Emily was great – but she had one totally awkward moment when she walked away from Cam & Clark laughing to herself at the idea that Hannah could interrupt her work. She made me feel so awkward.

The whole episode felt like that. I felt this weird dooms-day feeling in the pit of my stomach, kept saying “okay, this is kind of annoying” and I felt sort of a sad realization that this show may never again have the kind of fire and integrity it once had. Booth & Brennan may never again have the kind of awesome Made To Be Together reunion we’ve dreamt about and invested in. I feel like if they make Hannah and Brennan friends, then it’s just even more awkward… Booth and Brennan just grow further apart.

And if something happens w/ B&B while he’s in this relationship – I’m out.

But even if he just makes a choice one day… like “I choose Bones” but it was a hard choice because Hannah’s so great, there’s something awful about that too. It’s supposed to be an easy choice, a no-brainer. And it used to be.

I honestly don’t really want the girls to spark a friendship. I think the writers had a GREAT opportunity w/ the character of Hannah and I fear they’re going to waste it by moving it slowly and pulling B&B further apart. It makes me so unhappy that I feel like I wouldn’t care if ratings plummeted as a result and the show got cancelled. I do feel they’d have it coming to them at that point.

I worry that they’ve all forgotten how to engage the viewers with the danger and dynamic and natural comedy that drew us all in. I didn’t laugh once tonight during the episode.

So I don’t know… maybe the magic is just gone. I’m sticking around for a bit. But – I am just not sure I trust the writers like I used to.

  30. Mary on October 1st, 2010 12:58 am

I don’t want Booth to be in love with Bones on/off.

Let him be in love with Hannah, and let Bones evolve into a relationship with a great guy who really does love her forever.

  31. Parsons on October 1st, 2010 2:00 am

Really, really disappointed with this episode, as well as with what I heard in the interview. While many have argued that putting B & B together will kill the show, I think this story arc is more likely to hasten the demise of the program we once loved. Not sure what percentage of viewers are B & B shippers, but I have to think it is significant. With that in mind, why would you intentionally enrage your loyal fans by giving interviews that indicate that there is no exit date for Hannah’s character, that she really loves Booth, and that he seems to truly be in love with her?
Some things that really offended me tonight: Hannah indicated that she asked for a re-assignment because she did not like waking up alone. So you seriously expect me to believe that the Army Rangers allow their personnel to spend the night/cohabit with embedded reporters? Or for that matter have sex with them under fig trees in the middle of a volatile war zone? Was Booth in Afghanistan to serve his country or was he on a booty call? The only positive data we learned about Hannah was that she found her new position in the DC press corps boring and that she envied Bones for having the exciting job working with Booth. Here’s hoping this is foreshadowing the reason why she exits DC.

  32. Alison on October 1st, 2010 2:00 am

I’m underwhelmed for the second week straight. I don’t like Hannah and surprisingly not even because of her relationship with Booth. There was simply just no spark or edge to her. I’m going to lean on the idea that it was the writing and not the actress, but I feel the same way I did last year when I watched “Chuck” and had to witness Brandon Routh “acting.”

Even without spoilers, I saw the bit about how Hannah and Booth met from a mile away. Oh, look! He saved her life! He arrested her! She did something she wasn’t supposed to do because she’s stubborn and brave! Just like Bones! But better! Because she’s not afraid to love! Way to be subtle, HH. And the divulging that they had sex immediately…kinda icky.

Booth feels less like Booth, Brennan’s completely alone, and we all must love Hannah. I get the message from HH and crew (goodness knows they’ve put out enough interviews force feeding this storyline down everyone’s throat), but I just felt like the character and the episode were poorly written. And sadly the promo for next week looked just awful.

  33. Lori on October 1st, 2010 2:27 am

So not happy… not making me want to watch..

  34. Beth on October 1st, 2010 8:53 am

What caused a non-TV watcher like me to connect with Bones? I love that Booth has the kind of moral code that is rare. I am not “hot” for DB. He is not nearly as gorgeous as say, Jon Hamm. No, what I love about Booth is something more substantial and exactly what Brennan loves about Booth: he has honor, dedication, loyalty and bravery.

I understand why he moved on from Brennan. I can rationalize why he fell for Hannah. She is smart, beautiful and interesting (and did I say beautiful?). But……I agree with the poster that talked about a “wishy washy Booth”. A man with the qualities of the old Booth would not fall in and out of love. I remember Brennan and Angela discussing Booth’s break up with Tessa and Brennan said “Booth would not bail”. The Booth I love would not bail on Hannah when Brennan has a change of heart.

At this point, the only way I can see Booth having a future with Brennan is if :
1- Hannah breaks it off with him or
    2- She gets killed off
Either one of these scenarios will mess up the epic nature of their love story.

Because the writers and producers are understandably trying to extend the life of the show, they are starting to mess up the dynamics of the show that made me love it. Bones has run its course with me. I have to be passionate about the characters or I won’t watch it.

  35. Beth on October 1st, 2010 9:00 am

    P.S.
This is to forensic mama……..You are always this positive and cheerful!!! I am starting to think that you are paid by the Bones people to be a secret promoter and cheerleader for the show!

  36. alice on October 1st, 2010 12:14 pm

I still fell they need to explain afghanstan more and how he could leave PARKER.

  37. Dotty on October 1st, 2010 12:55 pm

I’ll stick with re-runs until they write Hannah out – her performance was forced and contrived. Hopefully she won’t last too long.

  38. Hot Blooded Bones on October 1st, 2010 1:12 pm

I watched again hoping I would see something more encouraging but only came away with one question…..If it is so important for B&B not to be a couple because then they couldn’t work together why is Cam and also Angela and even to a certain extent Caroline pushing the issue of them NOT being together. OK so I get Angela she doesn’t care about the work she just wants them happy but what about Cam and Caroline??? I thought they wanted the team back?? My faith in these writers has been severely shaken…also both my kids are in the army and it is a very large stretch to imagine even tho he is valued that Booth would be allowed the lenience they want us to believe he was given. And I just really am very blah about Hannah kind of like when Angela described Jarod as Booth lite as is Hannah she is Brennan lite but Booth gets the sex with this one. I’ll give them one more episode to grab me otherwise I really don’t like the direction all this is going.

  39. Patricia STarr on October 1st, 2010 3:46 pm

It was a fantastic series – great acting – and the chemistry between Booth and Bones was electrifying – for 5 years we waited tor the incredible love breakthrough that we all knew was coming – and then this garbage? Which writer came up with it? Let’s hope that the public response will prompt the producers to wake up! It was the chemistry between Booth and Brennan that made this a hit show. Smarten up – fix it – or it is goodbye.

  40. alice on October 1st, 2010 4:43 pm

fans booth didnt meet hannah in afghanstan she the one he saw all the timed in dc./that explain why he never made a move on bones/

  41. Alison Leddy on October 1st, 2010 5:01 pm

So stephen nathan.. I don’t want to hate any characters on Bones. I don’t enjoy hating people…. So why do you think fans like me will enjoy hating Hannah? I would much rather get excited about a new case, or learning about Booth’s past, or more about Cam or Hodgins or Angela, or maybe a nice Booth and Bones moment at the dinner as opposed to hating a new character. Its like I sit down on Thursdays at 8 waiting to see how bad the ep will be instead of how good it will be.

I agree with some of the other comments that the real Booth would not have gone to Afghanistan, leaving Parker and his job and everything behind. And I find it hard to believe that he could get over Bones that quickly. I can’t believe in the validity of Booth and Hannah’s relationship because its such an obvious way to extend the show and “mix things up.” My favorite Bones blog just ceased to exist because of the direction of the show. I’m definitely less interested in the show which really upsets me. I don’t believe that the 100th ep screwed up “the moment,” but I definitely think Hannah is a bad addition to the show.

PS I miss the old Bones, where it was dark, compelling, emotional, scientific and better written.

  42. nobody on October 1st, 2010 5:07 pm

My answer to the question “Does Booth love Hannah?” Yes, because he needs to believe this. He needs to be happy, and he needs love and she’s someone who gives it to him. A funny conclusion: love is about getting, not giving. But honestly: No. Which is wrong towards her. This may make him human, but I cannot respect him for this.

Brennan did the best thing in episode 100: she let him go. She loved Booth enough to let him go (though she worded it the way that since she’s not good enough for him, she cant be what he needs, and everyone saw it as her turning him down), so that he could find happiness. And purpose. So this storyline in my eyes is “let them go, if they return, it’s real love”. True love is wanting anothers happiness you say?! In my mind Brennan did exactly that. So if Booth returns to her, he can be sure (after his coma dream, when he was uncertain about his feelings towards her, and her feelings for him) that his brain was not damaged. (I wish he’d stay with Hannah, but I know that BB are endgame.)
I understand that no one agrees with this interpretation of the ep100 and the outcome, but that’s how I got it.

I truly hope that if viewers want the series to continue they’ll tune in to watch ED’s Emmy-worth performances. I was certain that this was the best thing this storyline does. (there may be many good things, but this was the one thing I mentioned long ago)

But these Booth-Hannah scenes (focusing on a characters domestic life, and that nudity brings on ratings no matter what the storyline is about) make me afraid that if they do get many more seasons, and put BB together, then they’ll focus on domestic life, instead of the crime show. Using this storyline makes me afraid that they really cannot think of anything else to write after they put BB together. That scares me.

  43. karen on October 2nd, 2010 10:28 am

I have been a Bones fan since season 1 but i’m sorry to say that the start of this season has made me want to spit, I can’t bare to watch it anymore, they should have believed in the fans more that even if they did get together (B&B) it would have been more interesting seeing how they got along as a couple and working together, I think Booth is trying hard to convince himself and brennan that he loves this other women but it just isn’t washing with me, get rid of her and get B & B together and stop messing about with the fans emotions. The show will lose more fans if they (the producers)don’t listen or it will be the last season and that would be a shame.

  44. Charlotte on October 2nd, 2010 1:55 pm

I’m so happy for Booth. He’s crazy about Hannah and they’re so happy! He deserves that. Also, I love Hannah. I hope they’ll keep her around for a while, because she really seems like a wonderful, open-minded person and I think she has a lot in common with Brennan, so their future friendship will be interesting to observe.

Of course, in the end I want Booth to end up with Brennan, but I think that Hannah really will help their relationship to progress. However, I also think it’s important to recognize Hannah’s own value as a character, not just a tool in the B&B relationship.

In other words, I think this season is going to be awesome!

  45. jess on October 2nd, 2010 11:18 pm

I love Bones, but I can honestly say the first two episodes of this season (and the last few episodes of season 5) were a big disappointment. I hate the Hannah character, but not because she is Booth’s girlfriend. I just dislike where the show is going. I like the dark, raw emotions the show had in the first seasons that was about the cases not the personal relationships of the main characters. I feel like now the show is so focused on Booth and his relationship with Brennen or now Hannah, the show is losing the qualities I loved about it. I know television shows need to evolve and change but it is possible to evolve without changing into an entirely different show.

I really hate to say it but there is a strong possibility if the show (the writing) continues along the same path I might have to find a new show to watch.

  46. Han on October 3rd, 2010 6:59 am

Pretty much everyone who has stuck with Bones from the very beginning eventually wants Bones and Booth together, and I think it is inevitable no matter what, that in the last season of the series (whenever that will be) we will get our happy ending with B&B. Despite this, it is hard for us to imagine Booth having another love interest, because it has always been Bones for him and it has always been the two of them together. Personally, I believe that it is good for the show. Obviously, the dynamics have been very different at the start of this season. Yes it is awkward and all the characters seem totally out wack but if there were no big changes, we would be complaining that it was too much the same.

Lets just embrace the new change in the show. Hannah is a good enough character and I think she will really spice things up between B&B. Booth is being a bit silly at the moment, but we all know deep down that he’s in love with Bones. He is only trying to mend what was broken when she turned him down, and I think we can tell that Bones is regretting that decision – even if she hasn’t said anything yet. For Booth, Hannah is sort of the next best thing to Bones, but I think in the long run, being in Washington will take its toll on her and she’ll leave. And something will happen to make her realise Booth is still in love with Bones, despite carely deeply for her at the same time. It will all work out in the end so lets not stress….stick with it guys. BRING ON SEASON 6!!

I have to admit I’m not crazy about where this story could end up going but I thought of something……I just rewatched the epi where Brenn and Hodgins are kidnapped by the gravedigger and remember that reporter who had made her name following the career of the gravedigger?? Well what if when the gravedigger was found guilty and she told Brenn that it wasn’t over it was because of this reporter still being out there??….her partner. There is no way one person could do everything she was supposed to have done within the timeframe needed to get it done and not get caught she had help. They ar bringing the gravedigger back so what if with a clean background and some cosmetic surgery Hannah is in truth this reporter and the reporter was the gravediggers accomplice?? She gets in tight with the entire gang and knows a lot about their movements and such but she slips up in front of either Booth or Brenn and she ends up kidanpping the both of them. She holds them hostage trying somehow to either get enough money to set her up for life or to get a release for her partner?? or to simply get revenge because they broke up she and her partners game???? I would love it if this time Brenn and Booth were together and the others and maybe even Max and Jarod were trying to find them. This could even be a way for us to see Zach again!! What ya think am I completely delusional???

    @Hot Blooded Bones
wow… reading that story just pretty much made me hope for the best in this season. If the writers are that creative and twisted then maybe Bones would have a future. It is a pretty awesome storyline and i really hope it’ll be along the lines of something like this. Although it’s a tad out there, we can always hope right???

  49. nina on October 4th, 2010 1:44 am

I’m trying so very hard to be optimistic.
1: Maybe this friendship between Hannah and Brennan will be a good thing. It seems Hannah is very intelligent but also very very good at taking risks and following her gut, and if Brennan needs motivation in that direction it might be better coming from a friend/rival.
2:Obviously Booth isn’t being honest with Hannah about Brennan at all (yet) which means he’s still super uncomfortable and is trying hard to convince himself and everyone else that he is totally moved on. That COULD mean that if Brennan somehow decides, ever, that shes ready for a relationship, his inability to date other women NO MATTER HOW AMAZING could point to love being indelible.
    3. Maybe this will allow for everyone to move on from soap opera-ness and Brennan can have a string of hot lovers like she used to and while she takes an eon sorting out her issues we can enjoy the science, storytelling, crime-fighting and character acting that made this show great in the first place.
    4. Angela and Hodgins are having a baby! Yaaay!
    5. Booth saved this woman’s life. She is attached to him for many of the same reasons as Brennan. But on the flip side, its going to be fun for Sweets to pick that one apart and maybe hopefully be helpful for once in a blue, blue moon?

  50. mangolassi on October 5th, 2010 9:17 pm

    @Hot Blooded Bones
I agree! Or at least in the sense that I think that when/if Hannah and Booth break it off, it won’t be just because he or she lost interest. If he found out that she had done something or was doing something that went against his sense of morals (which we know to be pretty damn strong), I don’t think he could deal with it. Throw in the gravedigger, and that’s a really interesting twist! And bringing in the gravedigger would definitely ensure that crime-solving and work in the lab remain just as important as personal relationships.

  51. Hot Blooded Bones on October 6th, 2010 4:34 pm

Its hard for me to just enjoy a show a lot of times because I have all these questions instead of just enjoying. Ever since I saw “Aliens in a Spaceship” when Brenn and Hodgins were taken I keep asking myself about that female reporter…..why have her in so many scenes in that epi if she isn’t gonna play a part somewhere down the line in the story?? They closed in on her face also when they were at the spot where B&H were buried and she didn’t look too happy that they had figure out where they were. Since then no mention of her and she is not included in the further story?? Vega was….I don’t know it just bugs me that this was left hanging and also that they want us to believe that HT could have done all these kidnappings without help and not been seen or caught before…..I have the writers more credit for believability than that. I hope this is how they go it would be a great finish to the Gravdigger story but who knows what they have planned.

  52. Shannon on October 6th, 2010 5:39 pm

Booth still loves Brennan, most definitely! While in Afganistan, Booth was finally away from Brennan and his heart break. Here comes a woman, who he is attracted to and is attracted to him. She is upfront with him, honest, and he knows exactly how she feels. There’s no guessing game than there was with Brennan. Booth was allowed to open up his heart freely. Now that he’s back, I think those feelings have returned. He still cares for Hannah, but Bones will forever be his soul mate. Hannah’s role is the typical rebound relationship. I think that in time, all of his old feelings for Brennan will return. Hannah is a perceptive lady and already suspects something is going on. She can already see that they are extremely close. I think that once she sees them more together, she will see what everybody else sees…that Booth and Brennan belong together.

  53. annie emerson on October 7th, 2010 4:00 am

Okay so Hannah….NEEDS TO GO! Booth and Bones need to be together! No one likes Hannah because no one wants someone to be in between Booth and Bones. The only thing that actually is is the rule that they cant date and we all know Bones cant help but obey the rules (most of the time). What the producers should really do is have an episode when they take away that rule and then Booth and Brennan are left trying to figure things out because now nothing is in their way. There could be plenty of other obstacles for Brennan and Booth to have, but Hannah does NOT have to be one!

  54. MEP on October 8th, 2010 6:40 pm

I haven’t watched this season but I couldn’t stop myself from doing a search just to see how serious things were with Hannah. And its just as I feared.

The last thing I want to believe is that Booth could fall out of love with Brennan. This just KILLED what the show was about for me. It killed the reason I watch the show. There’s no redeeming it either as I’ve heard someone is going to die and I’d lay money down it’ll be Hannah. So I wont even get to see Booth dump Hannah over Brennan which is the ONLY way I’d be able to watch again. Cause it’d mean he was never truly over Brennan.

But alas, with the soap opera writing this semester that wont happen. And my days of watching Bones (even old episodes) is done and over.

    sniff.

  55. mommahurley on October 14th, 2010 12:17 am

I think that Booth is in love with the idea of being in love…and Hannah is warm and loving, and exciting and she makes him feel good. And he knows he scared Brennan when he asked her to give it a shot…and he believes that “she doesn’t love me…I would feel it if she loved me” as he said to GG.

I think Brennan is now, as of the time Booth became I’ll and had surgery…is aware that she will do anything for Booth…. Anything that she believes will make him happy, and not hurt him.

She believes that being with her will ultimately hurt him. Therefor, her rejection of him in the 100th is her ultimate act of love. She was totally unaware, and still partially unaware, that those action are, in fact, the mearurable, quantifiable act of Love. Booth is at this point is still completely unaware of how Brennan ticks in that department, as as such completely unaware of her feelings.

What we need to reach is the point, where Brennan puts two and two together, and examines her life, and realizes that she is ultimately good for Booth , and that her actions, her selfless act of love in regards to Booth’s happiness, in the 100th, and now by supporting his relationship with Hannah, is in fact, proof that she is capable of having an open, unselfish, and enduring heart, that feels and shares LOVE> Once she comes to believe it, it will manifest in the way she interacts with Booth, and Booth will in turn “feel it” And once he feels it, he will realize it is a far different thing that what he feels with and for Hannah! I’m impatient and unhappy so far, but I’m clinging to the belief that this will all come to pass, and that ultimately we will be happy in the end.

I’ve been called a hypocrite, because at times my feelings have changed and I’ve lost faith, and said some negative things as well, but really I’m human…all of us are… Many are upset becuase it’s not apparent what the PTB have in mind and we love these characters and can’t imagine how they will bring them back around..

.I say, no matter what, you have to keep the faith, and watch, because if you stop, you may miss a great cressendio…and if all you watch is the great ending, you will have missed all of the hard times that make the good times feel so much better.

A person knows when someone loves them…they can feel it. Once Brennan knows it…he will feel it and he will know it…Like when he says to GG… “If she loved me, I would know…I would feel it”… and in TEITB when he says, “If you were cheating on me, …I would feel it”

This season is Brennan’s time to come to terms with what her actions mean…and believe in herself…It’s not Booth she needs to belive in, it’s herself…and once she does…He will know!

  56. Patricia on October 14th, 2010 9:33 am

Besides the fact that I want B&B together, David and Emily have WAY more chemistry than David & Katheryn. David & Emily are good friends in real life, and flirtatious in real life, and it shows in their scenes. Every time I see Booth with Hannah, I keep thinking that Booth has settled for second best.

  57. Cynthia on October 16th, 2010 5:04 pm

i am torn apart. i since i have started seeing this show i have seen the chemistry that booth and bones have. and when i saw the last episode in season 5 i knew that booth and bones where gonna end up together no matter what came in their way, but now i dont know what to think. i honestly like Hannah and booth together because booth shouldn’t have to wait for bones to finally realize whats right in front of everyones faces but i just dont like that they made her realize that once its too late and gave her nobody to fall back on. her best friend is having a baby her assistant Zack is gone and not coming back and the man that she has always had has someone else who else does she have? they should bring someone else in the show for her someone that she can have. but then i think that i wish Hannah would leave and bones and booth would be together but then i think that bones would just back away and hide more and not be able to trust anyone more than she already does because she is gonna think that is booth can supposedly love Hannah and then he doesn’t love her anymore, she is gonna think that booth can love her and then later not love her anymore i would think that too so no matter what the writers do no body can be happy because bringing Hannah into the show was the biggest mistake they could have possibly done other than killing someone important off the show. but thats just my opinion.

  58. realistic on November 5th, 2010 7:06 pm

REALLY??? is everyone going to give up on B+B because Booth has another love interest? how many dates and relationships have they gone through??? and you guys are upset this much about Hannah???? I completely agree with ■Shannon on this one, just sit back and enjoy the ride, the story line and the plot that the writers have set up for us to enjoy. ( and by the way what can you not TRUST them with?? the making of the story that THEY created? and btw its just a show, and you can always get the old seasons on dvd and write fan fiction on the new stuff and make it your own if you don’t like it) Bones is an AWESOME show and ther writers are AWESOME so let them do what they have been doing spectacularly for years an stop complaining!

  59. kuraviolet on November 5th, 2010 11:23 pm

i kinda like Hannah, but thats not to say i dont want Bones and Booth together. cuz i certainly do!
Booth is a man who in episode 100 was turned down by the woman he was/is in love with. He flat out told Brennan he couldn’t/wouldn’t wait around for her. So YEAH…. he goes off to Afghanistan for 7-8 months, and when he returns he’s found a new girlfriend!

I believe he REALLY LOVES Hannah. I believe he STILL loves Brennan.

i dont think Booth will EVER stop loving Temperance Brennan, but i think that because she turned him down he has put his “line” in place again when it comes to the two of them. So he has turned to another woman who he has found as…. not a “replacement” or “fill-in” for Bones, but someone who is as close to his soulmate as he can get without it BEING BRENNAN.

I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out between the new couple and how Bones and Hannah get along!
I’m hoping Booth realizes he love Bones more than Hannah, or Hannah notices that he still loves Bones. ANYWAY, how ever it’s done I do look forward to a time when Booth and Brennan can be together and have it all work out!

  63. eydie on November 14th, 2010 7:37 am

i don’t know how many remember this, but about a season ago, the writers/producers told us that bones and booth would have sex. definitely, they said. and then that turned out to be the episode that was simply dreamed by booth when he was in the hospital in a coma.
this whole season has a feeling of unreality. it feels like booth is still in a coma dreaming all this. booth and bones have all that history and now it’s just…gone. and since we know the bigwigs behind bones are huge liars, who’s to say they aren’t lying about this? i don’t like hannah. mainly because she isn’t bones, but even though they portray her as smart, she looks like a bimbo. they could have at least chosen someone who looks the part. but back to the history bones and booth have: is the viewer just simply supposed to forget all that? are we to believe that that intensity just vanished–poof–gone? and what really makes me angry is that at the end of the show on each episode, after the case is solved, bones and booth are supposed to be alone, discussing it and in a roundabout way life and “them.” last episode it was bones and bimbo in a hospital bed because bimbo got shot. i was hoping it would be fatal, but there she was in all her blonde bimboness. i think the execs behind bones are the same kind of gigantic liars as the execs who said that moonlight wouldn’t get canceled on cbs and then– they canceled it. Thank you fox execs for ruining bones for me. really, you might as well cancel it and replace it with a mindless reality show.

  64. bonescrazy on November 14th, 2010 6:14 pm

  66. mingaling on November 29th, 2010 6:45 pm

Ugh personally i am really hating Hannah. This whole relationship is the worst possible thing that could have happened to the show. A majority of the fans watch this show because of the drive for B&B to b together, so i have no idea what HH was thinking. I have no desire for Hannah to become a permanent member on this show because she is interfering with some very serious stuff lol. And what ever happened to that note that Brennan wrote when she and Hodgins were kidnapped by the Gravedigger? Just curious.

  67. renea on November 30th, 2010 1:22 pm

Well, after the last episode where Hodgins gets to “surprise” everyone with the baby news, Bones and Booth part ways just before so that he can go meet with Hannah and sex up for the night- a fact which neither of them give awkward glances about- in fact, Brennan just encourages and tells him she will give him a good cover story so he won’t hurt anyone’s feelings. That act is on the level of “best friends” and much deeper than any sexual gratification he gets from Hannah… watching the relationships unfold is like seeing a man with the wife, , and then letting her meet his mistress, . INTERESTING…

That said, I think their loving relationship is really going to be much more satisfying once Hannah decides to go on and live her own life. I think Hannah is a good person and levelheaded and independent enough to realize that she can’t stand in the way of Brennan and Booth, especially once she is knowledgeable of their past and intimate behavior… but I foresee Booth getting angry about this, like, “Great, every woman just can’t stand to be with me,” since he has been dumped by every woman we’ve been introduced to in the series. And then he’s left with longing for Bones, whom he believes to be alienating him, but then BAM!!– she goes for it!…ok, not really. It would probably take a while, but then again Booth is what, nearly 40? Talk about mid-life crisis…

Also, Brennan is a much better role model for Parker in the long run since she is more stable in many ways. Brennan may put herself in danger, but it is usually measured and rational whereas Hannah seems much more likely to seek it out for the thrill .

However, if there are too many more episodes where Booth and Bones do NOT connect on some emotional level during or after a case, where they are casually connected and look like they belong without an interruption from the blondie, I don’t think my heart can take it. :/

  68. SKA on December 2nd, 2010 10:09 pm

Oh – They’re going to have a way to get Booth out of this…Hannah will die…and that’ll push B&B closer. Wait and see.

  69. my on December 10th, 2010 2:05 am

Eh, it’s over for Bones and Booth. I just watched the newest episode and Booth admitted that Hannah is not a rebound. He loves her and then rejected Bones.
I don’t even care about this relationship anymore. Even if the series writers do come to their senses and make Booth magically “fall in love” with Bones again – it’s too late. If Booth really and truly loved Bones then he wouldn’t have fallen out of love for her so quickly. Imagine if Bones and Booth actually got together the previous season and then Booth meets Hannah – would he have feelings for Hannah then? Yes, he would because he is fickle like that. If Booth fell out of love for Bones that easily then it was never true love to begin with. I know that people would say people tend to meet someone better but seriously, it would have been more convincing if Hannah have been a way cooler or smarter person than Bones – in which Hannah is not. I’m sorry, but Booth is no longer a hero in this series – he was never truly in love with Bones if he could cast her out of his heart this easily. It’s only been a year – how could you fall that deeply in love with someone else after proclaiming to love another person just as deeply previously? Booth’s emotion is a fickle one and i wouldn’t be surprised if he falls for someone else instead of Hannah in the near future. Sure, Booth is a monogamous person – but that doesn’t stop him from breaking from one relationship to jump to the next. what a loser. I can’t sympathize with this character any longer. The writers ruined everything and obviously don’t care about the viewers. Deschanel is a wonderful actress and she is wasting away in this series if it continues to have such bad writers. And, Booth and Hannah will get marry so where the heck is this relationship going? nowhere, might as well end the show – because the murder cases aren’t even interesting either and the love is just not there any longer. six seasons is enough to drag the relationship to its limit.

  70. my on December 10th, 2010 2:15 am

i would also like to add that the show should give Bones a new male character who will truly love her. Bones can only trust Booth as a partner but if even if they were lover eventually – the trust is gone. Giver her someone who will love her unconditionally and will wait for her and earn her trust.

  71. Lasse on December 27th, 2010 7:09 pm

I think Booth and Brennan will end up together but when the they say that booth loves hannah its because booth would be a bad person to be with her if he didn’t love her. If you think about it Hannah is very much like Brennan and i think it’s easier for Booth to be with Hannah than Brennan. Remember what he said in episode 100 – He knows they will end up together. I just think that it is hard for Booth to be sure of what he feels with Hannah. Beside Booth always has to do the right thing so he wouldn’t just leave Hannah. I think some of you need to look deeper into who Booth really is.

  72. Chevroledy on January 15th, 2011 2:53 am

This is a rebound relationship, no matter what Booth says. He gets hurt, he goes to a place to get away from the pain, and finally gets into the pants of a pretty chick. The romantic feeling producing hormones fire more heavily in extreme situations, which he is in, along with blondie(I say that as a natural blond so no getting pissy for that name) so he thinks he is madly in love because his brain is lying to him. He is also trying to convince himself that he is in love with her because she came after him and plopped herself in his life. It’s not honorable to leave a person for someone else, which is why he rejected Brennan in the car. He’s acting like a turd to keep the romantic feelings hormones firing so he does not fall off that cliff and start feeling bad again. Teenagers act like turds with their girlfriends/boyfriends because they like the feeling that the behavior allows them. He’s getting high off hormones after feeling like crap, Hannah is his drug because she is his Brennan substitute (like splenda). Feels close to the real thing, but is not.

  77. Imane Assi on June 27th, 2012 9:54 am

After he gave up on her the way he did om the 100th episode, once she told him how She felt,he had the choice between Hannah and Brennan. When he told Hannah about it,he should also have told her that he was confused,if he actually was, that he needed space and time to figure out how he felt and make a choice. And you know what?he made his choice:He chose to propose to Hannah less than a year after he claimed his love for Brennan would last 30-49-50 years….That’s all I needed to know how he felt about Brennan. After 6 years waiting for them to finally give into their feelings,Booth made Brennan his rebound girl.
If he had proposed to Hannah before Brennan’s confession,I would have understood. But he did it after Brennan’s confession, making a clear choice.
Unlike Booth,Brennan didn’t just jump in another relationship when he rejected her.She needed time to heal and land back on her feet before trying to move on.Booth even dated someone, her name was Catherine or something, right after Brennan rejected him and before Hannah. That’s how fast he moved on from his so called love for her.
He tries one time, one time only and he gives up? He didn’t try to break down her walls. So much for his great love for Brennan. She deserves someone new who actually loves her.
