BONES' Katheryn Winnick: Hannah Truly Does Love Booth - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

BONES’ Katheryn Winnick: Hannah Truly Does Love Booth

September 29, 2010 by

BONES fans, tomorrow night is the night.

Some of you have been anticipating it, some of you have been dreading it, but ready or not, Hannah Burley is making her official debut in Thursday’s episode.

I just got off a conference call with Katheryn Winnick (Hannah) and she spilled some of what we can expect from her character…

Hannah might not know exactly what happened between Booth and Brennan in episode 100: Fans know that Booth put it all out there last season in his attempt to further his romantic relationship with Brennan, but will his new girlfriend be aware of that, too? “That’s a very good question — I ask myself that several times,” Winnick told me. “I know that she definitely knows about Brennan and that they have some sort of history and they are very tight. I don’t know if she knows the details of their relationship and what happened last season. I think it would be more interesting to discover that [later on], but I don’t feel like she’s threatened by Brennan. I feel that my character is very strong and independent and motivated in her own personal journey of working in the press corps that I don’t think that she’s threatened by Brennan’s relationship with Booth. That’s what makes her fun to dive into. BONES really knows how to write strong women and that really attracted me to doing this arc.”

Winnick is aware of the haters out there…but she hopes you love her character anyway: “I heard that I may be causing a stir,” Winnick laughed. “But I’m excited about it. I’m excited about my character and I hope that they will welcome me.”

“She’s not there to be part of a love triangle or create a big cat-fight or high school drama: she’s there because she truly does love Booth,” she continued. “And she’s there to explore a different part of her life and start a life with him. I think that people, the audience, will hopefully respect her and her strong character and her strong will and her motivation and drive to work and find facts in her job. She’s not just there to be his girlfriend, she has her own purpose and her own path. And I hope that the audience will give Hannah a shot and fall in love with her because I’ve fallen in love with Hannah.”

Brennan and Hannah will be bonding: “I really feel that Hannah and Brennan are similar in a lot of ways — specifically that they are both driven by facts,” she said. “They’re both very motivated, intelligent, adventurous women and I think that I respect Brennan’s character and hopefully she does the same for me. There’s not any major tension right away, but I think it’s this understanding that we both have a similar past and a similar motivation of what we want out of life. That is one of the reasons we really bond together.”

However, that’s not to say it will all be smooth sailing between the two. “I feel like Brennan’s character can’t help but probably feel a little bit of tension with this new girl,” Winnick admitted. “I think she doesn’t even know if she is at all jealous, but she may be not even admitting it to herself. It will be interesting to see how the story and arc plays out, if she discovers something within herself. I feel like there’s something, being the new girl, being the girl that moves in with him and knowing that they have a strong bond — work-related or not — there’s always a part of me that definitely has one eye open [to make sure] that relationship is what it is and is nothing more.”

We’re going to be seeing more of Booth’s off-duty life, thanks to Hannah: “I really feel that Hannah’s character brings a certain side out of Booth that [we] haven’t seen yet,” she said. “It’s a fun, loving side and we get to know his character a little more and why Hannah and Booth have this strong bond. I feel like my character gets to really pull him outside of work and see him in a different light. So I’m exited for the BONES fans to see that.”

And Booth-Brennan shippers, you might want to prepare for an upcoming scene…: Winnick revealed a highlight to look out for:”There’s a scene that, after I’m in bed with Booth — I don’t know how to say it in a nice way, but after we get a chance to connect and have some fun — one of the first things that I mention is his connection with Brennan. And I ask him [about her], his connection with Brennan is really unique and they’re very close. So in other words, the Hannah character is very intuitive. She reads people very well. She reads Brennan…She’s very intuitive, I feel like that’s a very good example.”

Some additional scooplets:

  • How long will Hannah stick around? Winnick would only say she’s around for “a handful of episodes.” However, if the powers that be wanted her to become a regular, she would be open to that discussion.
  • Her first episode delves further into how Hannah and Booth met. In addition to arresting her, it seems Booth also saved her life. So far, there haven’t been any flashbacks to their time together in Afghanistan.
  • Winnick says her scenes have fluctuated between being light and serious. Booth “pulls a fun, loving side out of Hannah” she says, but the last episode she shot (thus far) had some serious moments where “under certain circumstances, life kind of kicks in and real-life drama kicks in.” Hmm….

Are you willing to give Hannah a chance?

B&B RIP. That’s all they wrote.

  2. Tiffany on September 29th, 2010 2:48 pm

I agree EL…it’s way too late in the game to try and “reset” everything. We want progress…not backsliding. I really think this could be the last season of Bones!

  3. skylark66 on September 29th, 2010 2:50 pm

This article totally and thoroughly depresses me. I am so happy Booth, Brennan, Hannah are happy to move on, unfortunately I am not moving on at this point, it makes me really sad….but heck, it’s a tv show, so I will live.

  4. Jenn on September 29th, 2010 2:52 pm

Marisa, what’s your feeling about this storyline? I know you’ve said in the past that you’d be surprised if it lasted all season, but the more I hear about how serious this new relationship is, the more I wonder how they would wrap it up in a handful of episodes.

If this stiryline drags out all season, the show will just have a much different feel then the one I started watching. I just really don’t want a whole season of Booth being distant from Brennan and Brennan being somewhat jealous and trying to hide it. A few episodes, I can deal with, a whole season makes me re-think my Thursday nights.

  5. Seren on September 29th, 2010 2:52 pm

That’s it, I’m done with this show. This is not something that I want to watch.

  6. Jmbatt on September 29th, 2010 2:53 pm

willing to give Hannah a chance, you ask… I can’t control that she’s on the show, so I will watch to see what happens. But, I don’t expect that I’ll want her to stay on as a permanent member of the cast. Bringing Cam in at season 2 was different than bringing a SO in at this point in the show. I’ll watch, but I doubt I’ll like what I see.

  7. sandra on September 29th, 2010 2:54 pm

i agree, it’s a tv show, we’ll survive – but it’s so sad that we are at this point, where we actually have to remind ourselves that it is only a tv show. thank you, hart hanson. for bringing us back into reality.

if Angela told hodges in paris then why did she tell bones she had not told hodges yet I assumed she told him in the diner and ask him did he want to stay in the united states, and one more thing hannas got to go thats bones man i wish there could be a work zack back in segement but then thats just one persons opinion i really enjoy the show we have it on record in case we do not get home in time keep up the goo work

  9. Elisa on September 29th, 2010 3:05 pm

If she stays in BONES I’ll kill me! I hate her!!!
That’s it, I’m done with this show. This is not something that I want to watch.

  10. Fay on September 29th, 2010 3:06 pm

I don’t usually read articles about future episodes but I gave in on this one 😛 I think the Bones team has played the promotion cards right this time. At least it worked on me! Admittedly I’m much more open to the Hannah character now after seeing the interview video of KW Fox released and today’s conference call. I like that you pointed out that Bones knows how to write strong women and the Hannah character would be one as well. I’m looking forward to seeing that.

Even though some people (even the not-angry ones!) are tired of the seemingly trite third-party story this late in the series, I have a feeling that this arc would be done in a refreshing way and not what you’d usually expect. I am optimistic!

Also, I don’t think Hannah’s character would become a regular. Yes, this happened to Cam but her profession plays a crucial part in the Jeffersonian team. I don’t see the same goes for Hannah.

  11. Anja on September 29th, 2010 3:15 pm

I think that if all these interviews to Ms Winnick are meant to make a sort of damage control and convince SOME fans to watch, Fox and Hanson are waaaay out of target. The more I read, the more I am NOT watching.
They still don’t get it that those fans who don’t like this story line don’t care if Hannah is wonderful and truly loves Booth. I don’t want to have a Hannah help Brennan to become better, Brennan is already an amazing charachter, she already has very good friends to help her.
I don’t want to see Booth all funny, cheerful, loving, caring, and in bed with her, even if she is a saint.
The point is: there are some fans who are really liking this story line, which is good. Hanson is counting on the fact that the ones changing channel are just an insignificant number.
We’ll see if they have made their stats correctly. If they made a wrong calculation, they have killed the show.
I really want to see how difficult it will be to re-call all those fans back once Hannah is gone.

  12. Lucky on September 29th, 2010 3:20 pm

I really don’t care how amazing she is. I watch the show for Booth and Brennan and like some have already said it’s too late in the game for Booth and Brennan to be in a serious relationship with someone other than each other. I will be tuning out until Hannah leaves. I know it won’t affect the ratings but at least I will spend my Thursday evenings watching something I enjoy.

  13. ann on September 29th, 2010 3:26 pm

why didnt she said anything about parker?

  14. Marta on September 29th, 2010 3:32 pm

I may be in the minority, but I like how this is giving us a different view of Booth and Brennan. Booth has been fairly unhappy since his declaration to Brennan and if this gives us a more confident and happy Booth, it will be noted by Brennan who keeps an eye on him.

The truth is, can Brennan be in a relationship with Booth at this time? So much has to be discussed between the two of them and they are just not communicating well. What if Hannah bridges that between them? What if Hannah allows Brennan to come to a realization that she wants to be in a relationship with Booth that goes beyond their partnership?

I get it that people think that if they’ve devoted time to a TV show that it should give them some satisfaction. But I want to see the story of how Booth and Brennan finally get together. It is not going to be pretty or easy because neither one of them is willing to make a step in the right direction. If Booth’s feelings for Brennan are true, then Hannah will be a dalliance and not a real threat to Brennan. And if Brennan can see what it is that she can be for Booth– someone who he wants to be with despite the fact that Hannah is much more perfect for him, then she might be willing to take the step.

I can stop reading a book or walk out of a movie, but I really want to know how this all turns out. I chose to watch. I want to see Brennan and Booth both grow because neither one of them handled this as well as they could have. And throughout it all, HH and Co. have written some strong female characters and I really admire that. Hannah seems to be strong and able to stand toe-to-toe with Brennan and Booth.

Again, I chose to find out how this all evolves. The show is more than just their “love connection.” If you don’t believe me, watch what’s happening on House.

  15. Anja on September 29th, 2010 3:35 pm

To Ann. Parker is apparently out of the picture this season. No Parker, no Max, no Pops, no Jared. They are all family-less.
    It’s all about Hannah.

  16. Robert on September 29th, 2010 3:42 pm

I troughtly always hated brennan, I mean she’s a flat character I’ve always felt sorry for booth sticking with that one, I’m so happy he finally found a totally interesting person like hannah I hope she will replace brennan in the show at last we will have some quality in the series!

  17. alice on September 29th, 2010 3:56 pm

    they can kiss bones goodbye.

  18. alice on September 29th, 2010 3:59 pm

Robert BONES IS THE SHOW if they dont have her they dont have a show.

  19. Amy on September 29th, 2010 4:00 pm

I’m in the total minority because I’m not a B/B shipper but I like Hannah, already. I really loved that Katheryn loves her character and how much awesome insight she has into Hannah. You can tell she has an great grasp on her character. I’m excited to see this side of Booth we’ve never seen, thanks to Hannah.

I have a feeling she’ll be around for more than a “handful of episodes”. I’m sure she doesn’t even know because the actual number is not confirmed and very open-ended. So, I’m welcoming Hannah. Thanks for the write up, Marissa 🙂

  20. Kath Skerry on September 29th, 2010 4:02 pm

Quick! Someone put an armed guard outside of @Robert’s house. BONES fans are going to attack! I kid 🙂 GMMR is a place to share ‘alternative’ views.

  21. Kat on September 29th, 2010 4:13 pm

    I. Hate. Hannah. I hate tht HH nd the rest of them are trying to shove her down our throats! {But what reallly annoys me is that shes blonde, Really? a blonde? how sterotypical pretty….} but anyway, im all for her being around for a few eps just to make Bren realise what shes lost. but, its been confirmed someone dies, i hope its her. Her niceness makes me hate her more. Im sorry i sound so rude, but, B&B are forever-even if they dont know it yet.
They need to be like House, and have Booth go to Bones and say “Im with my new girlfriend, in our new apartment, and… all I can think about is you. Tempe, I love you.” 🙂
But, the biggest reason i actually kinda tolerated Hannah was becuase i thought that would put relationships on the backburner for a while. so tht all those “this show is turning to a soap opera” and “wheres the cases?” people could be happy. but then i hear that we see MORE of Booth & hannah than wed usually see B&B? i dont think so.
Hart, im sorry, but ur ruining ur show! Get B&B together, and bring it back to life! lol:)
    but, I LOVE BONES <333333333333333

    P.S.
    BRING ZACK BACK!!!!

  22. Priscila on September 29th, 2010 4:16 pm

Last episode made me want to strangle Booth. I think I can’t even dislike Hannah, because it’s not her fault.
Even if Brennan has always been the cold-and-hard-facts-scientist, she always gave me the impression that she was the one who wore her heart on a sleeve all the time, mostly for him and for the victims. She has her issues, but Booth should know better. He should know that she is all about the evidence.
And I think she always “knew”. But she didn’t recognize it and he should have, being the “heart guy”, showed her evidence when he asked for “a shot” with her.
This is how I think the writers should handle this. It would be memorable to have that happening on the 100th episode and then, after that, create some other storyline for the 6th season. This tension is overdue and overdone and it’s getting pretty tiring.
Hart Hanson screwed up big time and I think I’ll watch The Big Bang Theory instead.

Yes, I’m Team Brennan and all for the nerd side of life. I think I’ll just watch The Big Bang Theory, have my share of witty and laughter and keep my mouth shut…

  23. Robert on September 29th, 2010 4:16 pm

lol I only loosely followed bones now I’ll follow the show more interested since the arrival of hannah and yeah sure bones IS the show… how she weirdly solves cases in her automa-personage, not her lovvy lovvy relationship with booth, it’s about cases and so on, not a love story between B&B it’s a crime and foresinc centered show.. not somekind of soap opera. Booth got a girlfriend? AWESOME! finally! halleluya brennan isn’t cut for have a personal life, she should stick to her bones only.

  24. Louise on September 29th, 2010 4:25 pm

It’s been confirmed someone dies in this season, I hope it’s her!

  25. Danielle on September 29th, 2010 4:27 pm

@Amy, I’m with you in welcoming Hannah. This coming from a B/B shipper. Except, I’m open to them getting together or not, in the end. The more anxious shippers, you need to realize that the B/B partnership or “center” is still in place. The show is about them and the team, solving crimes and working together. That is still going on. That is not going anywhere. So…

  26. A on September 29th, 2010 4:28 pm

I am only interested in Booth and Brennan. They have got to find a way to make it about them even with Hannah. A handful of episodes I can handle but this really needs to be wrapped up soon. And the episodes she is in, still need to be about B and B. That is what the show has been about for years. I just don’t see how HH and company are going to pull this off. And there better not be any pregnancies or proposals!

  27. Robert on September 29th, 2010 4:30 pm

I stronly hope it’s not Hannah dying in this season even because it would be most… uncreative.. oh new character let’s make it die to add some drama.. yeah sure, that would be totally poor writing

  28. MinnKim on September 29th, 2010 4:33 pm

I hate the whole Hannah arc, and truthfully by the time it is over I’ll hate Booth even more. My thought is when Hannah leaves she can take Booth with her. I no longer enjoy watching this show. It has a depressing undercurrent that leaves me sad after each episode. This has been the case since the middle of last season.

The television executives wonder why t.v. is losing its audience. The reason is they are out of touch with the majority of its viewing audience, and what we would actually enjoy watching each week.

  29. Bruce_F on September 29th, 2010 4:40 pm

There are few things I appreciate more in the realm of television than a rational, level-headed Bones fan because, if you believe what you read on the internet, there aren’t many to go around.

So, to the few even-keeled people who posted here, thank you. Thanks for trying to keep a cap on the crazy.

    – The main point of this show is and always will be getting Booth & Bones together. All the “reset”, “backsliding”, and “that’s all they wrote” stuff is just… ugh. No. Just no.

    – It doesn’t matter if it’s Cathryn Winnick or Eddie McClintock, the point of serious significant others on this show is to bring clarity to the main character they’re dating and/or the one they’re not, and to ultimately strengthen the bond between the two leads and bring them closer together.

    – Doing interviews doesn’t equal a conspiracy theory. I believe it’s called “publicity” if I’m not mistaken.

    – @ Robert – You are very bold. I’d run for cover just to be safe. Your statement is the equivalent of standing in the middle of a Twilight screening and loudly questioning Edward’s sexual orientation.

    – Everyone likes and dislikes programs for their own reasons and that’s perfectly fine, but when you start spewing on about hating actors, conspiracy theories, and hoping characters are murdered it’s time to back off and take a breath.

    – As always, if you dislike the direction of a program that much and it’s giving you that much grief, drop it and turn your attention elsewhere. It’s a sh** or get off the pot situation.

Anyway, I’d make Cuckoo noises here but you can’t type a noise and I don’t like using onomatopoeia.

  30. Lola on September 29th, 2010 4:44 pm

    iA – not liking NuBooth.

Let Booth and Hannah leave on a slow boat somewhere and bring a new Taller and younger FBI agent in for Brennan.

not liking what I see of this arc at all. Don’t know if the show will be watchable when it’s done. The damage may be too severe.

  31. KikaCR on September 29th, 2010 4:46 pm

I hate her, I don’t need to see her in the show to make an opinion, she’s another poor excuse to keep B&B apart!! I’d rather see how Brennan develops herself emotionally, how she comes to know herself and accept the love in her life, not a stupid plot with third parties. Sounds like a cheap soap opera, and that’s not the show I fall in love years ago.
If they keep Hannah around for the whole season I could see that this is the last season of Bones, you can not breake the heart of this story, (and the heart is Brennan and Booth’s relationship). As I saw this, is just a way to hurt the relationship. How the man who said to Brennan you are the one, is the same man who find a new girlfriend in a few months being apart. I know he’s hurt but come on… Where’s that kind of love that last 30. 40, 50 years!! Now I can understand Brennan’s ideas about love as some ephemeral emotion!

  32. Robert on September 29th, 2010 4:49 pm

    – @ Robert – You are very bold. I’d run for cover just to be safe. Your statement is the equivalent of standing in the middle of a Twilight screening and loudly questioning Edward’s sexual orientation.

well I don’t really think bone’s fans are screaming little girls crazed for some vampire teenager guy or something, besides, I always thought Edward’s was bisexual at least, I’d see him hook with the werewolf at some point and ditching bella XD

anyway I really think Hannah is going to add alot to the show mostly because I think yeah there’s a great bond between B&B but it must not be always in the sex and love life they can be a team that work toghether well and nothing else! why there has to be always something… involving sex and a relationship between a male and a female character? can’t they just be friend? don’t usually WOMEN themselves claim there CAN be only friendship between a man and a woman? or now suddleny all at once all bones fans says there MUST be something more? booth got a girlfriend awesome I really hope it lasts she becomes a series regular and they eventually marry and have kids! and I also hope bones finds… someone like her or someone right for her, whych in my opinion is NOT booth, they are awesome as a team poor as a couple.

  33. Danielle on September 29th, 2010 4:54 pm

@A, what are you talking about? The show will still feature BB solving crimes and working together. What more do you want? Seriously.

  34. Crystal on September 29th, 2010 4:57 pm

I think in the end Hannah will end things with Booth so he can be with Brennan. Every article about will they or won’t they was very clear that the plan is for them to get together eventually it’s just a matter of character development and letting things unfold in the right way.

  35. Tara on September 29th, 2010 5:06 pm

don’t like it at all…have no plans on watching this arc take place sorry to say. i can’t stomach watching Booth loving some other women – especially since he is technically settling for “second best” woman option. i thought Booth was in love with Brennan for 30, 40, 50 years and then he goes off and less than 7 months later finds a serious relationship? are you joking? that’s not realistic. i just feel sad watching this show now 🙁 glad i have to work on thursday nights – b/c last year i was going crazy and making my hubby watch and dvr it for me so i could watch it 100 times and analyze it – now, i doubt i’ll even watch the dvds.

  36. Jodie on September 29th, 2010 5:12 pm

I am no longer enjoying this show. I thought that Booth understood Brennan enough to be more patient with her because ,obviously, she has feelings for him. I would like to see who love can change a person’s character even if it is as strong as Brennan’s. I think that Booth is Brennan’s final andonly chance to experience true love and Hannah is just blowing everything up. I am not sure I can handle her presence.

  37. Tiffany on September 29th, 2010 5:21 pm

Ideally, Hannah will get in, do what she needs to do for Booth and Brennan, and get out. Drawing it out anymore than necessary is going to be the end of the series. Doesn’t matter how nice or strong Hannah is or how happy she makes Booth, if the writers are smart, they will have her out by Christmas (which is about half the season anyway).

  38. Ann on September 29th, 2010 5:33 pm

If Hannah had came earlier it would be one thing but now I don’t think there is going to be a way to put booth and Brennan together in a way that makes us shipper fans happy. I will still watch every now and then but I must admit on Thursday night I will be watching the big bang theory. I wish booth had never told her his feelings in the 100th because if it was never the intent to make them a couple why go there? If she was the one why did he give up so easily? They will have to really work some magic to make this show as good as it was before.

  39. Roobecca on September 29th, 2010 5:44 pm

Back in season 2 or 3 I’d have been ok with this, but not anymore. Bleh.

  40. athena on September 29th, 2010 5:46 pm

go watch Castle guys. it’s so much better than this. got tired of Bones bad writing.

  41. Tiffany on September 29th, 2010 5:48 pm

It will be interesting to see if the ratings go down or stay the same in the next few weeks, because they sure as hell won’t increase!

  42. K on September 29th, 2010 5:51 pm

I keep checking what is being said on-line to see where the show is going basically to determine if it is worth coming back. I stopped watching last year after the whole brain tumour story line. I thought the show had jumped the shark at that time.

So far…nothing here interests me. Bring in a love interest this late in the game is just unimaginative writing. It is a plot device that has been overused way to much by the industry. I would love to see how they would write a relationship between these two divergent characters. At least it would be fresh and not a cliche.

Thankfully the Big Bang Theory has moved to Thursdays so there is something good to watch at 8 pm.

  43. Amanda on September 29th, 2010 5:55 pm

Bones was my favorite show since the very first episode. I actually loved the 100th episode. I have been disappointed in every episode since and after reading this article, I can sadly say that I will no longer watch the show regularly. I will probably still dvr it and watch episodes eventually, but the magic of this show for me has been destroyed. I have searched my heart and come to the conclusion that I simply do not care anymore about when, where and how B&B get together. The producers should have allowed Brennan to sail away with Sully because their dithering has allowed her to miss the boat with Booth (at least in terms of this viewer’s interest). What a supreme shame.

  44. Sarah on September 29th, 2010 5:57 pm

I understand the reason for the storyline and the arc, I really do. And it sounds like Hannah is an extremely likable character: sort of like Brennan with well-developed social and emotional skills. And yes, it would have been super easy to make her a total skank and turn it in to some sophomoric cat-fight stunt that is below intelligent, mature adults. I see why the writers and producers are going here. To put it in the parlance of the show – rationally, I see the reasons for this storyline. But emotionally, it just makes me unhappy and uneasy. I am actually contemplating not watching the show live and just watching the DVR later so I can fast forward if it gets too uncomfortable to watch. The intellectual side of me says it is insane to be this emotionally invested in a show and whether two fictional characters get together or not. I know it is likely temporary and that Hannah is probably the link that will ultimately get them together. It’s just too uncomfortable to watch. I don’t know what that says about me or if others feel the same way. I love this show. I am a shipper, yes, but I also just like good writing and well-developed characters. I want B & B together – true. I want Bones to prove that there is no such thing as the “Moonlighting curse” when you have strong actors, writers, and a willing, invested audience. But while I understand the steps needed to get there, I don’t know that I have the heart to wait it out.

  45. Kayla on September 29th, 2010 6:16 pm

This makes me want to cry hahahaha. At this point it would almost make it awkward to get B&B together after Hannah. The way I see this is that Booth and Hannah love each other and one or both would be hurt when/if they break up. I feel like it’s a little late in the game for B&B because there have been too many moments where they should have gotten together and when they do I bet it will seem forced. HH says he wants to make it natural but that would have been the 100 episode or sooner. Really, who decides to start a relationship 7+ years after being best friends??

  46. Anjuli on September 29th, 2010 6:34 pm

Well, I’m excited that Booth has a love interest! I know we’re all supposed to want Booth and Brennan together but he put it all out there and she didn’t want to pursue that relationship. I love Booth, so I’m so happy he finally gets to be happy! And apparently with someone who really loves him! That’s definitely not the end of the show. It’s probably just gonna keep getting better. 🙂

  47. sarah on September 29th, 2010 6:38 pm

All sounds good. I want them together eventually, but the story is how they finally fine their way to each other. We know so little about booth that it will be great to see him more out of work.

also, booth in bed always equals win!

  48. Linda on September 29th, 2010 6:41 pm

What has happened to my show? The center is gone…the chemistry is gone. I’m not feeling happy when I watch this show anymore. I never thought I would feel this way about Bones, but I think after 5 years of Bones, the television will be on another channel on Thursday nights. I can’t believe I just typed that!

  49. katlyn on September 29th, 2010 6:47 pm

i think that they will most defenitely take a huge hit in the raitings espcially with those fans that also waych big bang theory. that said i think we all need to be loyal to the show and see where it goes because if the ratings drop too low we may never get to see where the show is going. i am not a fan of the B&H situation but if the writers have future plands that we dont know about then it may not be so bad. part of the reason i have faith is becasue the creators have said from the start that their plan os still to have B&B end up together so maybe hannah is a necessary storyline to adress im not sure but i hope that the creators are prepared for the crap they are going to take of the show sucks and the ratings drop.

beware HH loyal fans will turn on you quickly so make it good or end it fast becasue if this series gets cancelled before booth and brennan get together you are so going to be hated. this is coming from a fellow cannuck as well.

  50. ds on September 29th, 2010 6:51 pm

Honestly? I cannot fathom why TPTB think that, on any level, I (plus a lot of fans) would want to see Booth happy and having sex with another woman at this stage in the game. I just do not get it. I cannot see how Booth having sex with on my television screen and loving another woman can possibly bring Booth and Bones closer together. Unless they’re having a threesome. I just do not get why they think I want to see this at this stage in the game.

Oh, sorry I forgot. I get to see Brennan being fine with it and bonding with Hannah. Excuse me while I vomit. And post-sex talk about Bones??? DEAR GOD!

The more I read about this, the less I feel like ever tuning in again. I just cannot see how Booth comes back from this. Fickle old Booth, apparently.

I do not see how they think they can rip the heart out of their show (B/B chemistry) and then put it back together so we still feel like B and B should be together. They’re already over for me.

What also pisses me right off, is how HH and others keep telling me how much I’ll love this storyline and how childish and stupid I am if I don’t like it. Well, they sure have a right to tell their story, just as I have a right to roll my eyes and tune out instead.

As El said at the top. RIP B&B.

  51. ds on September 29th, 2010 6:53 pm

^^ I inadvertantly made a typo that made it seem like Booth was having sex with my television screen in the future. Apart from that being weird and wrong, it was also not what I meant to type. It should read – sex with another on my television screen.

  52. Sunny on September 29th, 2010 6:55 pm

I have to agree with Marta….granted, I don’t “like” the idea of Hannah, she may be just what Brennan needs in order to realize that she WANTS a relationship with Booth. For those of you that aren’t tuning in because of Hannah….your going to miss out on Brennan’s realization of this. Oh well, your loss. I’m still hooked to the show, even if there is a character on it that I’m not thrilled about.

  53. Chris on September 29th, 2010 6:55 pm

Yep – if Hannah stays around stays around very long I am done watching the show, sorry rest of you actors, I like all of you as well, but I do watch for the chemistry between Bones and Booth. I also watch Vampire Diaries at 8pm, I will watch it instead of record it.

  54. Rach on September 29th, 2010 6:56 pm

I don’t hate her, but I certainly have negative feelings to whomever had this brilliant story arc idea.
The more happy Booth is with her the more I’ll cringe on her scenes. It just destroys in my mind the notion of long lasting love he’s supposed to have for Brennan. Love is ephemeral, that is what Brennan can learn with this story arc.
To me, this show is all about B&B chemistry work/love related. If that’s not there anymore, it becomes just another cop show.
Here’s an idea for the Bones’ writers: go watch Chuck.

  55. Anna on September 29th, 2010 6:58 pm

GET RID OF HANNAH!!! honestly, im not going to watch this show anymore because prolonging the b and b love is no longer enticing. its just annoying. and i personally know a lot of people who are no longer going to watch this show because of her, this might be the end of bones if its not fixed. 🙁

  56. Ed in Arizona on September 29th, 2010 7:00 pm

The whole theme of the show is the sexual tension between Booth and Brennan. The new character is a foil for that same theme. If it’s anything other than that, they’ll have a problem keeping their ratings.

  57. Shirely on September 29th, 2010 7:05 pm

I am watching the series each week. I have hopes Hannah will be the key fore Brennan to realize she can have a personal and work future if she and Booth marry. I don’t think Hannah will be around after this season. But if he is, Oh well, I watch because I love the what the show brings to my Thursday nights, not just because of the intimacy of Booth being with Brennan.

  58. Kristalmagic on September 29th, 2010 7:06 pm

i believe it will be a wake up call for brennan as she is so theoretical and needs to lighten up and be more normal and he cant seem to bridge that gap they have no matter how hard he has tried …she just doesnt seem to get it…so i think the twist of hannah is going to be a good thing….for both of them but a part of me wants hannah to not be around too long so that hannah can make brennan wake bloody up…and booth to stop drooling like a love sick teenager..FFS get on with it…they spark together for god sake give them a go….without the way it is between b&b the show isnt worth watching…

  59. Michael I. Metzger on September 29th, 2010 7:14 pm

Shoot,if i were about 20 years younger,i would take her,but then the both are very much into each other,of course that’s me.

  60. Sarah H on September 29th, 2010 7:15 pm

I think the show has been on a downward spiral since the middle of Season 5. I watched the entire series from Season 1- Season 5 Episode 10 in a weekend (I didn’t become a Bones fan until May and had never seen the show). I could not stop watching the first 4 seasons and I watched a lot of the episodes repeatedly. Season 5 however, especially after the 100th episode just did not do it for me. I haven’t re-watched any of the episodes except for the trial one and I will not likely by the DVD. The Season 6 premier did nothing for me. I was actually bored watching it. The only two characters who really have any chemistry anymore is Angela and Hodgins, and the little part with the intern and that was it. The rest of the episode was horrible. I guess we will see if Hannah ends up bring something back into the show, but I think it is too late, the chemistry is just gone.

  61. Rosemarie Shea on September 29th, 2010 7:16 pm

My prediction is that the relatioship between Booth and Hannah will be very serious and Brenan and Hannah will become good friends. This will all lead up to the unthinkabl—- Hanah being murdered – Booth devastated – and the team solving the murder – all drawing Booth and Brenan closer by the end of the season. Ta Da!!!

  62. Kelsea on September 29th, 2010 7:28 pm

I’m kind of thinking along the same lines of Rosemarie Shea. I also think this is backsliding and kind of predictable, but whatever. Brennan is too frigid for me, I watch the show for Hodgins and Angela. On the earlier seasons they were much more active, I’m hoping the “squints” will play a bigger role this season.

Hannah is ok, I’m happy for Booth. Brennan had her chance…

If they screw things up with Angela and Hodgins again though, I will never watch the show again. Yea, their has to be turmoil every now and then but let one couple be happy at least, dang. I’m not watching a soap opera here…

  63. Louise on September 29th, 2010 7:28 pm

I’m sorry guys, but I find most of you ridiculous. You’re quitting on Bones just because the Brennan and Booth romance is on hold? Come on. This show is, and has always been, much more than that. The friction and them NOT being together is what makes the tension that we all love. What do you really want?
“Where are we driving to, Boothy-darling?”
“Bones, sweetheart, they found a body. You can examine it with one hand while I hold the other one affectionately, right?”
Yeah…./that/ would be amazing. Give Hannah a chance! You haven’t even met her yet, and we have no idea how long she’ll be there. Bones fans are said to be some of the most loyal fans ever, and yet many of you are storming out of the fandom dramatically and childishly because you can’t deal with some competition?

  64. Anna on September 29th, 2010 7:29 pm

While the entire anticipated story arc between Booth and Hannah is not what I want to see featured on Bones, it’s not the major reason I’m currently sad about the state of one of my all-time favorite series. The season opener totally put me off. It seemed unbelievably contrived. There was very little coherency and the plot was very thin. While my major reason for watching the series is the Bones/Booth relationship, along with the relationships between and among all of the other characters, I do like to see some semblance of a plot as far as the crime goes. The plots started getting very thin last season, but this season’s opener was terrible. It could have been better if more time was spent on IT, and not on Booth and his cell phone pic of his new girlfriend, or of him looking so uncomfortable around the rest of the group. The writers need more continuity in the characters’ storylines and what we’ve learned about them over the years, also. There are so many contradictions in the writing. I’ll be recording future shows and will probably watch them when it looks like things might be getting back to normal with the show, but I’m not going to hold my breath. As far as the Hannah thing goes, as was mentioned by several other folks, its too late in the game to be throwing any of these characters into the arms of newcomers. The focus needs to be on the relationships of the ongoing characters. And I’m also not interested in seeing sex scenes and public displays of affection between Booth and his new girl. That’s high school!

  65. Kieran on September 29th, 2010 7:31 pm

I remember an interview I read with Hart Hanson, and he was talking about how murderous (pardon the pun) Booth and Brennan shippers are. He even said that the end game is for them to be together. He is well aware that if he screws with their relationship too much that his show will be so far dead even the Jeffersonian won’t be able to make a conviction. Emily and David even know how their relationship is supposed to end up, and that’s why it so intriguing to watch. Everybody knows that they are going to end up together, so the path to get their is supposed to be fun.

We will have a real “End in the Beginning” episode eventually, or so help me… 🙂

  66. mela on September 29th, 2010 7:38 pm

I just can’t wait for H&B to end in whatever way so Brennan can wipe Booth’s tears away. I think this is a good thing for them. It’s not a step away for B&B. It IS a step away for Brennan, I think, so she can evaluate what’s going on with her and Booth, and what she really wants… Which is actually a step forward, not a step back.

  67. Erika on September 29th, 2010 7:40 pm

I don’t like Hannah as much as some, I don’t dislike her as much as others, But even I’m jealous, Brennan has to be. The main thing is, Hannah will help with the BB situatuion, I still think that they can be the center again, and be together, but did she have to be blonde? Does anybody else see a pattern for Booth (well besides Bones)? I heard that they’re going to have the show for at least 7 seasons, possibly 8. I’m gonna keep watching, I think she wont last long on the show.

  68. Rach on September 29th, 2010 7:50 pm

Everybody knows by now that they get together “eventually”. We all know how it ends, but I am not willing to watch anything they throw at me in between just because no matter what happens they get together in the end.
The journey, how they get there, is just as important as the outcome.
Hell, they could spend 20 years apart an meet again for their happy ending OR Booth could marry Hannah, live with her for years, then she dies, Booth meets Brennan again and they get their happy ending. See! They got together eventually! Just like I told you they would! Such a fun ride wasn’t it?
The journey is what is going to tell me if I care for their happy ending.
And yes, the cases are not as good as they used to be. Bones needs good cases or else it will have to change it’s category from cop/procedural show to soap-opera.

  69. PLM on September 29th, 2010 7:55 pm

The Booth character is very sensitive. He gives his all..to job, son, church etc. The all round nice guy. So, to see him fall in love with someone and then she is murdered, I’d hate to see something like that happen to this type of person.

What I would like to see (If Hannah is being brought in to just tease us a bit), is have Booth simply confess that he is in love with someone else and break it off. That way the character stays honest, sincere and doing the right thing (as we expect him to be) and willing to just wait for Brennen to wake up to what he really knows is the same feelings for him as he has for her.

If Hannah is killed off, and the rekindle of B to B is one of sympathy etc., it may feel (to fans) that maybe he really was just infatuated and not in love with Brennen at all (if he could “really” fall in love with someone else), and a sympathy reunion will seem like Booth is the rebound and not the reason that Hannah is out of the picture!

Long story short, I’d rather see Booth and Hannah just split, him call Brennan, and her (who really was jealous all along) say to the effect, “I don’t want to be your rebound interest” and him respond, “You are not the rebound, you’re the reason!” Then go on from there. My two cents anyway.

  70. Ashley Jensen on September 29th, 2010 7:59 pm

DISLIKE this whole thing…they have dragged on the booth/bones thing for such a long time that..it’d almost feel forced if they got together…let alone bringing in another girl…and TRYING to make the audience like her? I sincerely doubt it. I hardly watch for anything but to see those 2 on screen together.

    RIP Bones.

  71. steven on September 29th, 2010 8:00 pm

i’m a B&B fan myself but ill always like the show as long as the crew is there booth, brennon, cam, hodgens, and angela there the ones that matter no matter who comes and goes from the show there the reason i watch i love a good crime show

  72. Sarah on September 29th, 2010 8:02 pm

I said I wouldn’t watch whilst Booth has a girlfriend and I intend to stick to this! Seeing Booth move on so much and be in love with someone else just doesn’t sit well with me. Even if B&B do get together after all this, I feel like its tainted by him falling in love with another women. I know alot of people say that Brennan rejected him so hes allowed to move on but if he really knew her and loved her he would recognise her reasons for doing so… fear! He wouldn’t fall so hard for another women. When they do get together and I’m sure they will (I know Hannah isn’t forever) it just won’t be the same and that is why I hate this storyline so much. HH has ruined the B&B fairytale IMO.

  73. ds on September 29th, 2010 8:05 pm

    @Rach. Couldn’t agree more.

I’m stepping off the bus for this part of the journey. I reckon I’ll probably find more interesting scenery to keep me occupied while I’m there. Like The Big Bang Theory, for a start.

Really seeing a lot more hate than love for this storyline around the net. Ah well, I’m no network, we’ll see what the ratings do on Friday.

Pretty sure a lot of people tuned into the Premiere thinking they were going to get a happy, year later scenario. Instead, they get a wonderful, beautiful, oh-so-in-love girlfriend for Booth instead, who is conjured up after an even shorter time period of 7 months. Nice.

  74. Bridget on September 29th, 2010 8:05 pm

I’ll be more than happy to give the Hannah storyline a shot. I’m in this for the long haul and I’ll see the show to the end. I didn’t start watching Bones for B&B (though that came around as the show progressed). I don’t see how some can predict the storyline now and have such strong opinions when the episodes with Hannah haven’t even aired yet. Or the ones that have written off the chemistry between B&B for good based on ONE episode, when there’s still another 22-24 episodes to come for this season.

  75. ds on September 29th, 2010 8:05 pm

  76. Meg on September 29th, 2010 8:07 pm

I realize the end game is to bring Brennan and Booth closer and in the meantime, Booth really does deserve to be happy and find that “forever” he so desperately wants. He took a (however poorly worded, IMO) chance and was refused, so it’s natural for him to retreat and attempt a relationship with someone else. And Brennan has got to learn that taking chances is crucial in being truly happy, and that “forever” is not a (metaphorical) death sentence. She’s learned to accept her love for everyone else but hasn’t accepted her love for Booth, and that’s got to change. I get this.

However, it’s still going to be hard to watch all this unfold. I’m filled with this bizarre nervous anticipation at the coming episodes, and I will be very sorely disappointed if that spark between Brennan and Booth disappears. Their relationship is/was so much more than just romance; I think their relationship at its heart is about the type of deep, rare, “I would do anything for you, my friend” friendship that we all seek. If the trust and affectionate friendship between Brennan and Booth were to crumble, then I would seriously consider not watching the show because it would just be too sad to see.

And, as a side note, if Hannah is as wonderful and vivacious as she seems to be, Booth’s character will inevitably take a hit as he tries to maneuver being in love with two women. Someone is going to get deeply hurt by all this mess, and it’s going to be hard to watch. I don’t want Hannah to end up with her heart broken, but conversely, I am Team Brennan all the way. I will be sad to see a dumped Hannah; I will be absolutely devastated if Brennan comes out the loser. Despite what people claim, Brennan has made so much emotional progress and it’s been heartwarming to watch; pulling the rug out from under her at this point would be cruel, plain and simple.

  77. Khuyen on September 29th, 2010 8:14 pm

This love bond between Brennan and Booth is never gonna happen. The show is going to keep dragging it out. I hope one day they will get to find each other soon!!!

  78. Caroline Henry on September 29th, 2010 8:15 pm

Hart listen up! A couple of episodes with this gal fine, turn up some jealousy in Brennan whatever, but you will lose your fan base and the show will plummet if you keep Hannah and Booth together. After all these years of loyal fans making this a hit show you owe us Booth and Brennan being together, and not for just a one-nighter. We deserve to not be betrayed by you, if not, those fans departing the show will departing in masses, including me, the most obsessed fan of Bones.

  79. Joy on September 29th, 2010 8:17 pm

Go Louise! AMEN! THANK YOU! Bones IS much more than Booth/Brennan. Bones is NOT a “love” story. I don’t get where this concept came from. I started watching Bones from day one and I’ve never felt like it was a love story. I, certainly, don’t want to watch a show where Booth and Brennan are a couple calling each other pet names and all that crap. That’s boring.

Although, I have to say that I don’t see any heat or tension between B/B anymore. I’m setting my sights on other aspects of the show, just like I’ve done all along. You know, there are other reasons to watch Bone besides B/B’s tired will they/won’t they. Which is why I’m glad they are not concentrating on that and bringing more attention to the WHOLE cast, cases and drama.

  80. Samantha on September 29th, 2010 8:17 pm

I don’t like this story line. I realize that HH is trying to have B&B get together naturally, but I feel like they have missed that and this thing with Hannah is completely unnatural. Maybe it will turn out good in the end but I am worried!

  81. Lindsay on September 29th, 2010 8:29 pm

I love B&B together but I am NOT going to act like CHILD and throw a temper tantrum!

Bruce_F said: Everyone likes and dislikes programs for their own reasons and that’s perfectly fine, but when you start spewing on about hating actors, conspiracy theories, and hoping characters are murdered it’s time to back off and take a breath.

  82. Alison on September 29th, 2010 8:34 pm

Honestly, I’m not a crazy fan. I really like Bones, even when B/B are not perfectly in sync. However, I just don’t have it in me to care about another new character. All of the hype, interviews, and commentary from the show and Fox seem to indicate a huge focus on this actor that I vaguely know from a terrible movie (Failure to Launch).

I watch Bones for strong cases, the already stellar ensemble cast, and the connection between the main characters. I’m not threatening to give up the show, but I simply don’t care about Hannah or Ms. Winnick, no matter how much she loves her role. It feels like the show is determined to shove this storyline into a prominent position and I don’t get why. But I’ll watch Big Bang Theory and DVR Bones. Hopefully, the show will get back to its core characters eventually and Hannah’s handful of episodes won’t have as much development and backstory as this interview suggests.

  83. Mary on September 29th, 2010 8:46 pm

I am going to reserve judgment until after I watch the show! It is rather late into the game but maybe this is what the show needs! Good luck Hannah, I think you’re going to need it! Unless the writers really make your character interesting your not going to last!

  84. Marcia on September 29th, 2010 9:04 pm

if someone is going to be killed off this season, let it be Hannah!

  85. booth lover on September 29th, 2010 9:06 pm

I HATE HANNAH!!! NO I AM NOT GOING TO EXCEPT HER. SHE DECIDED TO BE HERE. BOOTH SHOULD BE WITH BRENNAN AND WE ALL KNOW THAT. BUT FROM WHAT I KNOW, HANNAH IS ONLY HERE FOR HALF OF THE SEASON. BOOTH AND BRENNAN ARE SUPOSED TO GET TOGETHER HALF TO 3/4’S OF THE WAY THROUGH. SO CROSS UR FINGERS THAT HANNAH IS ON FOR LESS.

    @ Bruce_F :D:D:D:D I think I love you

A sensible and fact-related Bones fan, not with his head up his a**, now thats a rare breed 😀

To those who says they’ll stop watching the show from now on?!? Chillax!!

-the character you’all so twitchy about hasn’t even had a scene yet…geez, give the girl a chance…

-how many TV shows do you know that has survived for more that a season after the 2 main characters got together? ofc they’re gonna play it out, will they – won’t they, he’s with someone else, she’s with someone else..hmmm maybe, oo dream sequence.. sounds familiar doesn’t it?

I think I’m really gonna enjoy this arc..see a new side of Booth..not the weirdo stuff with his ex..cus that’s just wrong, see Brennans reactions..will she be jealous? will she be able to keep that cool head of hers..maybe she’ll gain some insight?

I feel in love with Bones 5 years ago and its still going strong..I ain’t leaving till they make me 😀

    Bring on the flames 😀

Am I willing to give Hannah a chance? Absolutely not. Maybe if they pair her up with someone else or have her be a single recurrent character. But in this current storyline? Sorry, no way no how. End of story.

  89. Angee on September 29th, 2010 10:06 pm

I love watching TV because it’s like watching and being in another universe. I hate how real life can be shitty and crappy and you seem to always feel like you’re not good enough. When I first started watching Bones I was thinking, now this is a show that I can really get into. I can feel the characters, I laugh at the humour, I empathize and I understand.
But now, it feels like I don’t even know these characters anymore. Yes it is still enjoyable but not to the point that I’m looking forward to the new episodes. That’s right, I dread the new episode because I’m scared of what else they’re going to screw up. Ever since the 100th episode, each one has left me feeling sad and scared for the B/B relationship. This whole season is going to leave me with that feeling. I no longer smile or feel happy when I think of this show. I feel sad and I try to think of something else.
In the end, yes it is a TV show so I can survive. I’ll just watch something else but I’m pretty sure that’s not the reaction HH and Co. are looking for and sadly, that’s how a lot of people feel.
I’ve read a lot of comments before the season premiere on articles and many of them said that they are done with the show. They’re no longer watching. It seems to me that HH and Co don’t read or see any of the viewer’s thoughts and comments. If he does acknowledge them, they’re very small ones and do not express even a quarter of what we all really feel.
They need to find a way to make us ALL happy. I know this is hard but they were doing great with that for three seasons. Why has the writing gone so depressing with no uplift whatsoever? I don’t want to give up on the show but I’m really hoping it will just get better from now on.

  90. Coz on September 29th, 2010 10:12 pm

I’m doubting if this is going to work out well. I’m kind of worried that this is going to be what causes any shark jumping in Bones, as it has seemed to be getting closer, whether you say it started at episode 100, Booth’s tumour or any other time. I’m willing to give Hannah a chance – but this is as long as she vanishes after a while. Sadly, I don’t think this is going to happen. When a show is close to the tipping point and the generally accepted endgame is nowhere in sight, it’s a definite problem.

  91. Alisha on September 29th, 2010 10:23 pm

I don’t like this Hannah character, but I love BONES!! It is the best show in a long time. I have all 4 seasons and I am getting 5 for christmas. I think that they had to bring her in for Bones to realise that she is actually in love with booth, and it is not just some hormonal thing that is going to go away. HH said that they will get together in thier own way, and it just wouldn’t be Bones and Booth if they did anything the traditional way. I am with this show til the end. I love this show and I am going to watch it every Thursday for as long as it goes on.

  92. booth24 on September 29th, 2010 10:49 pm

Well here’s my thoughts. I’m patient Hannah will come & go. I’m hoping the writers put Brennan & Hannah in danger and then Booth has to choose who to save! Alisha I’m with you I love the show for the show and will always be a viewer. 🙂

  93. Howard on September 29th, 2010 11:00 pm

Personally, I think they should have written the roles where Dr. Brennan and Booth moved on to start their own investigating business as a husband and wife team, while still working closely with the team.
It seems like the writers can’t leave well enough alone and always want to add in another person or two, or even remove some.
I have nothing against “Hannah” joining in and perhaps even “get together” with Bone’s assistant; reinforcing Bone’s role, but not as a girlfriend to Booth!
IMHO, this is what brings good shows to an untimely end.

  94. VP on September 29th, 2010 11:09 pm

Okay, I hate the Hannah story simply because Booth then proves Brennan right that true love is ephemerel! He is NOT “that guy” as he promised her he was in the 100th episode. He has told other people Brennan can’t be rushed. Do the writers forget that Booth has this knowledge. Where is the consistency.

He also seemed very cold to Brennan in the premiere, something I also don’t care to watch. Chemistry is gone that made this show amazing.

Also, everytime HH says “this happens in real life” I want to smack him. We live real life, we don’t want to watch it. Those that do want that watch the reality crap, which is also edited or no one would want to watch that either.

I have loved this show since the beginning, have all the DVDs, and season 5 on order; however, I don’t feel like watching this show go down in flames or Hannah all over Booth. It is just no longer fun to watch and that is what entertainment is supposed to be!

I will probably DVR tomorrow night’s episode, but for the 1st time in years I will not be watching it live. That way I can fast forward Hannah sucking Booth’s face, etc., see if the story content is there, and then decide if I want to consider season 5 as the last season of Bones I will watch or own. Such a shame.

  95. Joe Zachary on September 29th, 2010 11:17 pm

I am ok with the girlfriend for a while. But, she has to go before too long. Booth and Brennen belong together and BRING BACK ZAC!!!!!!

    bring back zac!~!!!!

  97. srujana on September 29th, 2010 11:41 pm

If by handful she means another 2/3 episodes, fine…..but what would she do being a regular character.
They should have calmly gotten in a girl for Booth, then make him realize it’s futile to be with anyone when Bones is in his life and then kicked her out.
Why all this hype with the new girl?
why are they trying to make us like her?
why can’t they understand that the only part of booth’s personal life we care to see is when he shares it with Bones?
and what the hell is the girl talking about being intuitive about characters?
then she should take the heavy hint and get out of the scene…..

  98. Sharon on September 29th, 2010 11:51 pm

I am a Bones fan and will keep watching but have mercy … please let it end quickly between Hannah and Booth. I agree that the ending of the 100th episode was done wrong .. way wrong .. and I’ve written my own version a few times. I do NOT write for Bones … I write screen plays for fun and practice. 😉

I certainly do not want Hannah, or any of them to be killed, but would like for Hannah to realize that Booth loves Brennan and break up with him. I think Angela will be instrumental in helping Brennan realize her love for Booth.

We shall see. I will watch no matter what, how, when or why and hope they last 7-8 seasons .. with movies after that!

  99. WESLEY on September 29th, 2010 11:59 pm

I can see me loosing bones to booth but it would be a big mistake if they hurt Bones with the possibilities of not having booth –

  100. D on September 30th, 2010 12:02 am

I’ve never made online comments about shows before, after all, it’s just TV, and who cares what I think? Certainly not the writers. But I’m really compelled to write about this one, maybe because it’s the one show I’ve stayed with since the beginning. I liked everything about it – the characters, the plots, the relationships and the tension between characters. I hated to see Hodgins and Angela end, and was glad to see them get back together, but this new character, this late into it, will probably be a deal breaker. Maybe if the first episode wasn’t so poorly written, with Booth acting like a stupid teenager and everybody ogling her picture on his phone, this story line might have been acceptable if she was only to be around for a few episodes and it served to make Brennan aware that she does have human emotions and not everyone will abandon her like her father did. But poor writing and an unwanted character will certainly make my Thursday night viewing choices easier. And to make Hannah and Brennan friends? Come on now. And as someone else wrote, the loyal Booth character that we’ve come to know through all these seasons would not fall in love with another woman in just a matter of months after loving Brennan for so long. Dating – yes. Moving in with – too much and too much out of character. Shame on you writers. Now we do have a soap opera, and I stopped watching those when I left high school!

  101. River on September 30th, 2010 12:39 am

I am tired of this crap. Every day, someone has a new girlfriend or boyfriend. There are other ways to create drama, Hart. I’m tired of the same thing.
And no Kathyrn, no one will give your stupid character a freaking chance. Shut up. You aren’t wanted.
I agree with the others, I’m not watching any of the episodes until Hannah is gone. I’m just tired of it. It’s as If we watch the same thing every episode. Someone is always running off, getting a new girlfriend or boyfriend. How about we get more creative and try to create drama another way?

  102. Mary Lou on September 30th, 2010 12:39 am

If Booth takes up with another woman I’m done with the show. I love how he looks at Bones, the way her eyes sparkle and she doesn’t even know it. If they are not allowed to fall in love and have a passionate kiss that I’ve held my breath more than once in anticipation of that kiss. I have tolerated him having other women in bed but everybody knows they are in love with each other and if that storyline isn’t persued I won’t watch reruns and I won’t watch the new show. Screw it up guys and you lose your audience. I am going to be doing the Neilson ratings this next season so I have my hand on the dynamite plunger and I will blow the show to hell if they don’t have the opportunity to fall madly in love. Done.

  103. n on September 30th, 2010 12:41 am

ugh get rid of hannah nd let Booth and Brennen b together!!!!!

  104. M on September 30th, 2010 12:44 am

Not watching. I only watched the show for Booth and Brennan and I am now convinced that they have missed their moment. I’ll watch again when they get together. If they don’t, I won’t watch again. Simple as that.

  105. Aiya on September 30th, 2010 2:03 am

I simply love this show! Everything that has been created, written, said, characters, actors, anthropological procedures! its simply amazing…………..!!!!! But HART! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? WAS YOUR PARIETAL LOBE MALFUNCTIONING WHEN YOU WROTE IN HANNAH? I MEAN, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??
However, I must also say thank you for writing a show like “bones” i hope shows like this continue to be appreciated.
True bones fans will continue to watch even with this banana hannah bandana in it! How can you resist!

  106. Tiffany on September 30th, 2010 2:22 am

To those people concerned about how the show will last if they get B&B together…I ask how much longer do you think it will last if they keep them apart? They haven’t even been guaranteed a 7th season yet. I would much prefer them to get B&B together and take that however long it will after. Than screw up the ending because they were banking on more seasons.

  107. M on September 30th, 2010 2:39 am

    Booth’s a jerk !! Bye bye BONES…Hello COMMUNITY !!!!

  108. Mae on September 30th, 2010 5:58 am

i don’t like the fact that they added hannah in the picture, but we all know that it’s always going to be booth and brennan in the end. i understand why they added hannah, though. they’re trying to ease into booth and brennan’s relationship. they can’t just have them be together in one episode, that’s kind of like any other show. if i were all of you, i wouldn’t really worry about hannah, she’s not going to last long with booth.
if you stop watching the show because of hannah, then you were never really fan of the show.

  109. Kathy Dowden on September 30th, 2010 6:11 am

I’ve posted this before, but I’ll do it again. Bones does not make me happy anymore and until the 100th episode I looked forward to it every week. Now I kind of dread it because I end up feeling sad and frustrated every Thurs. I agree with above comments from Linda. I’m not sure I’m ready to abandon ship yet, but I’m getting close. There are still aspects of the show I enjoy and I still enjoy Booth and Brennan’s character individually, but the show has become flat. I don’t really care about liking or disliking Hannah. Aw well. I still hold out hope that HH will provide the outcome we all know he should, but it’s getting kind of boring now waiting for it.

  110. Cheryl Muller on September 30th, 2010 7:20 am

I don’t understand why every show has to have the same formula. Sexual tension. Why can’t Booth and Brennan get together and still solve murders.Ala : Hart to Hart and The Thin Man. That would be different from all the other shows on now and would make your fans very happy. It could still be gripping. I think the Angela /Hodgins romance is more interesting now that they are finally together. Come on producers – it will NOT kill the show!

  111. iHartBonesTooMuch on September 30th, 2010 7:53 am

I’m sorry but I will never get used to Hannah and will NEVER accept her as a regular, irrational as it may be. I don’t care if she was deworming orphans in Somalia, I will never like her. NOTHING will stop me watching Bones, it’s the BEST show on TV but I am sad about this whole Hannah storyline. I think Brennan was likely to give a relationship with Booth a try after being alone in Maluku and being separated from Booth, but Hannah screwed it all up… Hannah must go away…B&B FOREVER

  112. Francesca on September 30th, 2010 8:01 am

I love this show- Hannah is just a minor bump in the road to Booth and Brennan’s future. For those of you who are going to stop watching it just because of this you are taking a fantasy world way too seriously, just enjoy it for what it is- a show that is so well written it can cause you to feel so emotional about it!

I hope the writers don’t kill Hannah off though as she will then always be the perfect girlfriend that no-one could compare to.

  113. Zara on September 30th, 2010 8:47 am

give Hannah a chance? hmm… NO WAY! you don’t watch five seasons of a show waiting for two people to get together and then suddenly change your mind and choose to like someone else. I’m SO glad she’s only gonna he in five episodes

  114. Mom2KidsDog on September 30th, 2010 8:57 am

C’mon people! I think Booth and Brennan have come so far! (Can I start calling them Seeley and Temperance, now, or at least use “Seeley”, as he’s so much more in touch with his emotions?) Brennan even cried when she realized how closed off she is, and that would not be good for Booth. And Seeley has already declared his undying love for Brennan, regardless of whether she’s emotionally capable of returning it. That’s progress! At some point this season, I guarantee it, Brennan will realize / declare her feelings for Seeley. He’ll be angry that it’s taken her this long, or maybe she’ll be angry that he didn’t try harder to break down her walls, but by the end of the season they will be trying to work out their deep, abiding feelings for each other. And Sweets WILL BE VINDICATED!

  115. Becca on September 30th, 2010 9:47 am

Reading everyone saying ‘what have you done, you’re ruining the show, i’m not watching anymore’ etc etc just makes me more stubborn about wanting to enjoy the storyline. Come on board Hannah, shake it up!

Booth’s not a sap. Brennan brutally drop-kicked his heart, she deserves to lose what she had with him and find out the hard way what she turned down. It’s the only way she’ll learn.

Booth deserves to be happy, Brennan wasn’t prepared to risk it. He went elsewhere, I don’t blame him. Hannah’s hot and emotionally available, why wouldn’t he want that instead of constant rejection and coldness from Brennan?

I’m still pretty angry with Brennan for everything she did towards the end of last season, hurting him like crazy in the 100th, being insensitive in the episodes afterwards (dating his Boss?! WTF?) and finally flouncing off to Indonesia. Then we find out she didn’t even bother to stay in touch!!! I’m surprised Booth even wants to work with her again, and people are saying HE was the one being a jerk in the premiere! HA!

They’ll get together eventually, but I wanna see Brennan work hard to make it up to him, and maybe he’ll give her another chance.

  116. Kath Skerry on September 30th, 2010 9:49 am

For those of you willing to stick with the show, despite Hannah’s appearance, let me offer you up my point of view. Rather than seeing her as ‘the enemy’ why not view her as someone that will help Booth and Brennan discover things about themselves and each other that they might not have otherwise recognized. I’ve been really invested in a TV couple before during their excruciating will they/won’t they period, and more often than not the person dropped in between them has been the same person that was the catalyst to finally get them together.

  117. Gloria Brown on September 30th, 2010 9:50 am

I can’t watch the show anymore because I don’t like Booth in love with Hannah, when it should be Brennan. Maybe, this will start a spark in both Booth and Brennan. I hope it does not take too long!! Then, I’ll watch the movie again!

  118. Kaye on September 30th, 2010 10:20 am

This makes me sick and I won’t watch it anymore. If they were going to give someone a partner, why not bring back Sully and have her decide who she really loves? I think they should have made Bones more vulnerable, maybe a serious illness or something else that made her realize that life is short and shouldn’t be wasted being afraid. It should help her realize that you NEED more than wealth and work when things really get hard.

  119. Mercedes on September 30th, 2010 11:27 am

Hanna whatever her name is should not last long in the show. She is not welcome.

  120. Mercedes on September 30th, 2010 11:31 am

Hanna should not last on the show. She is not welcome to the show.

  121. Drippan on September 30th, 2010 11:35 am

I’m not going to say anything about the Hannah character because she is who she is.

The problem I have and believe alot of fans have is the faith they have in Hart Hanson putting out a good TV series/storyline. S1-3 were excellent in that we saw continuious growth in our characters from season to season. Where one season left off, the next season picked right back up.

At the beginning of S4 we saw a great distance between B&B from what we saw at the end of S3 with no explanation. This is when the writing starting going down hill.

When you add in that fact that at the start of S5 and S6 where the writers/producers took the relationship backwards each time vice writing a continual story, the fans just shake their heads.

It also doesn’t help with HH/SN saying such jibberish as they have been saying in interviews. Everytime they open their mouth it appears to the fans that they don’t know what they are doing or talking about.

IMO, this was an excellent interview from KW who probably understands her role alot better than HH/SN will ever imagine.

  122. HOLLY on September 30th, 2010 1:28 pm

No. We don’t want Hannah. Let her be a serial killer that tries to hurt Temperance and Booth rescues her and well, you know what he has to do to Hannah. Or better yet let Temperance do it…either way, please send her away

  123. TeaTotaller on September 30th, 2010 1:35 pm

Thank you for the article, Marisa. (you’re free to delete this comment, if you don’t approve)

For all those who think that the people not watching don’t get why this storyline is done. I believe they do. But I am the “Brennan” that most viewers disliked, the cold, rational, heartless person. She was never any of that, I am.
I personally apparently do not understand life and love, because I do not understand why you need to use this (in my opinion soap opera storyline) plot to get the result that everyone apparently wants. It saddens me that they stopped being the awesome, different show, and went down the most unoriginal scenario, the one and only thing I never wanted to see on this show. I stand by my incorrect opinion that this is not a good way to do it.
And the fact that some “ex-fans” are not watching is not important. What matters is how the casual viewer takes the storyline. If they can sell, it to them (whatever demographic they’re going for), then all is good, and they can have more seasons. So no need to say to people that you cannot stop watching, they’re losing viewers. Because online people are “spoiled”, and are prepared, only those who watch casually matter, they make up the millions.

It’s all done so for Brennan to stop being so rational, to stop using her brain, and relay more on her heart, to realize that she made a mistake (though I still believe she wasn’t turning Booth down in ep 100, just needing time & space, but since apparently I got it all wrong again, cause most got another message) and regret it, and re-evaluate all her life, and supporting Booth cause she thinks he’s really happy, and all she really wants is his happiness. And due to something she’ll get another chance, to “fight” for what she loves. She becomes what he needs, and all that. And the other woman will most likely be all what Booth was looking for in Brennan, only she’d give, give, give — be an open person. — What Booth didn’t see Brennan would be willing to ever do. (only because HH&FOX decided to write her that way. WHY? ) Why cannot a strong, independent, female character come to a realization that she wants to be with the male character without there being someone else in the picture, someone who SEEMS perfect for the man, yet she is kind of too perfect, and he is not really looking for that. In the pictures I’ve seen Hannah’s looks reminds me of Tessa, Booth’s ex. Kind of. Brennan will not be with Booth before she can put her heart in overdrive, and rethink her life, and decide that work is not all, and that she want him, and he’s enough for her, and she’s enough for him. (it sounds so bad when I write it liek this, and I am glad if you will like to see all this, but I guess I’m worse than pyramid)

I am not “most viewers”, so I don’t find this kind of character growth interesting to watch. And I just did not see what they wanted me to see (why are they telling viewers how we should understand things? Isn’t it great that we “read” the scenes differently. I guess not.

Though I admit that since I do believe that Emily is the best TV actress there is, I will enjoy watching her scenes on DVD. But only because she brings so much to the character. But she would be amazing in whatever storyline they write.

So I think I’ve come to a conculsion: I am not okay with how Brennan’s character is written. She shows signs of learning, and taking advice (many scenes in S4), yet right after that she is back to being ignorant, and then she is open to idea of love, and all that, and still she is not ready, and since there’s a new girl in town, she keeps acting like she doesn’t know what it all means. (I cannot explain it well, but yes, the way she’s been written, is most likely what bothers me the most.) I wish they’ll explain many things in some future episodes. I am sorry, but how on earth did have B&B never really talked about what’s going on between them? Why cannot they write it that way? No, she is written TOO “emotionally not whole”, and that makes viewers think she hurt the man, and needs to “learn her lesson”. Hurt like he hurt? But why did he hurt? Why didn’t he ever say what he really feels? If she’s all about proof, then let other characters give her the proof she needs – IF she is that scientific. (do you want me to prove it to you? yes, she does.) She’s not that “closed”, but they make it sound liek she is. I don’t get why…

I do not dislike Hannah. I don’t believe anyone does. I have no idea how, why or when she leaves, but if she’s not the casualty in this season, then I feel bad for her. I am never okay with someone ‘getting hurt’ in the process , when someone else finds ‘happiness’. When in a story it can be avoided, by using some other catalyst to get the desired outcome. I find nothing interesting in this storyline. (I am not aksing them to write it differently, it’s their story, but not every story is liked by every person. This one’s just not my favorite, and that’s just sad.) I don’t want her to realize that she was not the one, that there was no “old black magic” really. She was just what he needed at this time of his life, she’s the band aid on his wounded heart. LOL

I have been thinking tonight: am I really wrong? Is the only correct way to love this kind of storyline? That not liking it is “not normal”?

  124. crimdrmalvr on September 30th, 2010 1:56 pm

For crying out loud. 😛 It’s a tv show! I want Bones and Booth to get together as much as the next person but I’m not going to get my panties in a knot because they brought in a new character. 😛 Every person, in real life and usually on screen, has a purpose, a reason for being in someone’s life. Maybe Hannah’s isn’t so much to be with Booth but to help Bones see how love can be and that she wants it… with him. We survived Cam I’m sure we’ll survive Hannah. Either way, we’ll live. 😛

  125. Alesandra on September 30th, 2010 2:04 pm

Wow, a lot of comments with a lot of strong opinions. First, those people calling names and sarcastically putting people down because they care about the show (even if it is anger) are just at bad as the people that you are supposedly so much “better” than by being “real/loyal” fans. You need to Chillax, as well.

I think there are a lot of things at play here, not the least of which is everyone’s own individual perception of what they see as this show’s DNA and what they expect to get out of their investment of time. I’m happy for the people that are there no matter what the show throws at them. They may be character fans or actor fans, good for them. However, others are story focused and character relationship fans. They are going to have different requirement to stay invested in the story. Both have a right to their views.

My only concern is that HH seems to be sticking his head in the sand and calling anyone who has a dissenting opinion a “whiner”, when really the smart show runner’s will at least acknowledge the “whole” fanbase. That doesn’t bode well for those that are sticking around because chances are good that pretty soon he’ll start pissing them off too and he’ll then start calling them the whiners. I wish everyone luck. I’ll be watching The Vampire Diaries live and DVRing Community. Those shows are hitting it out of the park. Plus, I get my will they/won’t they fix from Castle and they do it in a much more charmingly engaging way. Best to all fans, that’s who I care about at this point. I hope you all get the pay off you are expecting.

  126. Robin Ball on September 30th, 2010 2:41 pm

Brennan gave up Sully for Booth. Booth gave up Parker’s mother for Brennan. They have become best friends and Hannah is a correspondent who goes to far away places, that’s how she met Booth. She’ll pick her career over him and that will be that. Brennan has to realize her “career over everything” attitude has to soften. They will be the ones left standing and together.

  127. TeaTotaller on September 30th, 2010 3:20 pm

*correction: Rebecca, Booth’s ex (not Tessa, she was the other blonde, who “lived” with Booth)
btw, I love your comment @Alesandra on September 30th, 2010

(one more thing: for me Cam was more interesting as the new boss, than as the girlfriend. She was a great addition to the group. I really loved the Cam-Brennan “who’s the boss here?” thing. But by bringing in an “ousider”, I’m getting a vibe they might consider showing the characters everyday lives. I’d prefer not. I don’t care what gym they go to, and all that. “I miss the old BONES”. Solve the case, go out for drinks, have a BB end sceen. It makes me feel that they do believe that once they write BB together they have to make it about their everyday life, and not keep the work they do as the center of the story. It’s just cause they choose this much used storyline, I’m concluding that they’ll do it like it’s been done in so many other shows. I hope I’m wrong.)

also: I’m not over S5, I”ve only seen promos, so cannot comment on S6 really.

  128. Carol on September 30th, 2010 4:17 pm

If Brennan and Bones don’t seriously get together, then the entire series has been a sham and they have been stringing everyone along and teasing us with a relationship that will never be. Goodby Hannah! I don’t care how nice you are . B&B belong together. I may have to stop watching this show!

  129. Jen on September 30th, 2010 4:49 pm

As as big fan of this show, I TOTALLY get hating Hannah just out of the principle of the thing. You have to hate anyone Booth is dating that isn’t Brennan just a little. 🙂 But to the people saying they won’t watch the show anymore because they don’t like this storyline, I think it’s really your own loss. Why not try watching the storyline unfold? Just wait to get angry until “all the evidence is in” if you will. I’m not saying this won’t suck – maybe it will, maybe it won’t.

When I say to give it a chance, I don’t mean to give Hannah a chance or to like her and Booth together. I just mean maybe give the show a chance to make this work in Booth and Brennan’s favor in the long run and see if they stay true to their connection in the mean time. It may require a bit of patience of course.

What I love about the characters on this show is how well rounded they are. Temperance Brennan is a strong, confident woman in many ways but she is insecure in others. She doesn’t believe in soul mates and doesn’t know if you can really promise to love someone forever, she doubts her own ability to give Booth what he needs in a relationship. She has grown a lot over the show, but has so much more to do as a character before she’s ready for that guy she’s going to be with in 30, 40, or 50 years. 🙂 At this point I don’t think it’s that she doesn’t know how to love, she just needs to learn to recognize it and mostly TRUST it. She’s a very warm, loving character deep down.

I know a lot of fans don’t agree, but I have liked the pacing of this relationship. They tried to ignore their feelings for so long because their partnership was possibly THE most important relationship to them, and they didn’t want to compromise it. I was nervous when Booth finally came out with his feelings and upset when he said he was going to move on. But the jury is out on whether I think they’re dragging it out too long or ruining the dynamic until I see this play out.

Just my (rather long, sorry) two cents.

Oh, also, I agree with Alesandra’s comment that different people look for different things out of the show and everyone’s needs are equally valid. I just think – watch it and then if it you don’t like it criticize it. Some of you have been dissatisfied for awhile, and in that case, I guess that’s fair. I just think some of the anger is premature.

  130. alice on September 30th, 2010 4:56 pm

I HAVE a feeling bones commited sucide by bringing hannah onto the show/I will watchbut let her leave really fast.

  131. Pkg on September 30th, 2010 5:18 pm

I haven’t seen the new series of bones as it isn’t airing in the UK just yet. However, having read all the comments so far regarding this storyline I personally think that it’s a good thing to have a new character bought in.

They did it with the interns last series and it didn’t fall down there. Yeah Booth has a new love interest but so what, its imitating what happens in real life. She might even bring out the feelings that brennan has for booth. And wasn’t booths boss trying to get brennan last series??

When Bones was aired for the first time I was expecting it to follow Kathy Reichs books which I personally think are great, but it doesn’t. And in order for the series to evolve the writers would have had to pitch their ideas to Kathy as she is one of the producers and since temperence is her character, if she likes the ideas who is to say otherwise.

I just want the angst and drama to be over, and that isn’t going to happen in the near future. First we will have Brennan pining over Booth and then we will have Booth moping around because Hannah is gone. Oh gee, this sounds like so much fun!

  133. Robert on September 30th, 2010 6:00 pm

can’t we just avoid angst and drama by making hannah marry booth and live happyly ever after? maybe even having a kid or two? brennan can find another handsome guy to get with maybe asking booth and hannah advice, and them giving different advice (one from male side another from female side) can confuse the hell out of her and make her do huge messes with her new boyfriend! as well as funny misunderstandings sex-innuendo related and so on! I mean I think Hannah character can be a perfect permanent addition to bones and spawn awesome funny and light hearted storylines as brennan tries to get her own boyfriend.. just to give some contrast with the dark stories of murder that booth and brennan deal with daily. (and that Hannah could deal too with she’s a journalist she can be a valuable ally of booth and brennan by manipulating the media for the investigations! or even get information from them as well!) I can’t really see why bones show has to be really so CLOSED down why nothing new can come on? why it has to be always brennan-booth? like that becomes stagnant and dies down, it’s like fans of twilight totally refused the second episode because of the cute werewolf guy that hooked up with bella… yea let’s erase new moon totally and let’s stick with twilight only! lol
face it, Hannah is probably the best thing that happened in bones since looong time.

  134. Tiffany on September 30th, 2010 6:25 pm

@Robert- Sorry to disturb your delusional idea of what the show is about, but did you know the original title for the show was ‘Brennan’? The show is centered around Brennan and Booth, Hannah is a plot device, no matter what Katheryn Winnick wants to believe.

  135. Marcia on September 30th, 2010 9:07 pm

If someone has to die, it should be Hannah. Where is Howard Epps now that we finally need him? The only thing better than havin g her be a victim would be if she were killed trying to kill Brennan. Get rid of the the phony baloney saccharine blonde bimbo!!!!!!!

  136. al on September 30th, 2010 9:24 pm

i dont watch bones to watch sex scene but I HAVE afeeling thats what different is/ agood show thats not good anymore. this will be the last season.

  137. bonesfan on September 30th, 2010 11:04 pm

I just don’t find this whole Hannah thing entertaining. The show is usually so funny, and I usually LOVE Booth. My favorite part has always been the final scene where they are talking in the diner and at the bar. He has always taken care of her, and accepted her with all of her “awkwardness”. He was good to her.

But now, he is completely different. He has been fighting with Brennen for years and telling her that love is forever and when you find the right person it’s incredible.. for years. But now I guess Brennen was right all along. Everyone really will leave you. He never really said “I love you” to her. He could have at least had more then one conversation about it with her. He always has to help her out in emotional situations.

In the 100th episode, he talked about the whole when you talk to an old couple the guy is always the one that says I knew. He said he knew….. so does he not know anymore? He is just over it…. “he knew”

I know it was her fault for saying no and she caused all of this but I still don’t like it.

He just doesn’t strick me as the knight in shining armor anymore. It’s sad.

  138. bonesfan on September 30th, 2010 11:09 pm

    This article is stupid….

I think I would like Hannah if the show was called HANNAH? Too bad we already have characters and a show going for us. If we listened to how popular and wonderful she is I assume there will soon be a spin off. She is just that great! GMADB

  139. ihatehannah on September 30th, 2010 11:11 pm

I had to fast forward through Sully… I guess I will have to do that again. I just don’t want to watch it. If the suddenly want me to not care about the bones and booth relationship, they shouldn’t have done such a great job of writing their relationship. They only have themselves to blame really.

  140. rachel on September 30th, 2010 11:28 pm

If loads of people stop watching Bones this season, then the network won’t pick the show up for another season and HH will have to get BB together in one of the last episodes because it might be too late-notice. But he’s always said he wants to get them together and then give the viewers at least a season or half a season with them as a couple and I want that too, not a one episode happy ending. So get over the Hannah thing and just keep watching ’cause there is a point to it I’m sure and HH knows the viewers want BB and he will get there eventually. just please give it a chance.

  141. shelly on October 1st, 2010 12:08 am

If the reason why Hannah is so hated is because shes being promoted as perfect for Booth and great in every way and Brennan doesn’t have a chance, then I think they are all reasons why she should be loved. I mean it’s so much cuter to see a man who chooses the awkward girl that most people find weird over the perfect, sexy, smart girl that everyone wants..
‘Cause once he’s around Brennan again for a while he will go back to her because I mean all that that stuff he said about someone for everyone and old guys who know right from the beginning, it’s still in there somewhere and it’s still how he feels, we just need to give it a chance and some time..
Beside what kind of show would this be if the writers just gave us everything we wanted.

  142. MJ on October 1st, 2010 2:47 am

I hope Hannah has to go on assignment again and is one of those journalists thats killed in crossfire. In other words, gtfo. I mean, I have nothing against the ACTRESS, she is aesthetically pleasing to look at, and Im sure shes a nice person, but no. NO! B&B FOREVER!

  143. Robert on October 1st, 2010 3:32 am

@Tiffany sorry to burst your bubble but the show is about CRIME and solving crimes with a team composed with booth and brennan, a TEAM whych also includes other characters, ok those are the main ones, but the show is a csi like story NOT somekind of mushy love story between the two main characters.

  144. yani on October 1st, 2010 4:15 am

No for Hannah – only want Booth & Brenan in love.

  145. Jeannette on October 1st, 2010 2:17 pm

Bones is one of my favorite shows!

I think Booth’s new love interest [Hannah] is great and she’s a perfect fit for him; they look good together, and seem truly happy! She’s also a lovely!

I think Bones and Booth make great forever friends but are too different in personality and other levels to be lovers! They’re like Man and Machine!

  146. Kat on October 1st, 2010 7:59 pm

@Becca -Booth shouldve fought for her. he tryed, but not very hard. He knows her, shes not just gonna jump into his arms from 1 “lets give this a shot” he shouldve told her that hes always loved her and always will, that hes not going anywhere. she even kina hinted it, when she said “ur evidence is anecdotle” She was saying that he only said tht because sweets said that they were in love, and sorta ‘told’ him to tell her that. he said it wrong. he gave up. its not her fault shes scared.

  147. Kat on October 1st, 2010 8:11 pm

@rachel -good point. never thought about it like that:)
@shelly -ur totally right!!!!! they sholndt have out such a “perfect” chick on there…makes her too easy to hate:)
@bonesfan – ur so right…. i said the same thing. he shouldve been clearer with her:(
    @marcia – YES!!!!! GO YOU!!! 🙂 😀
@robert – stop being dumb. this is what we Bones fans live for… 😀 B&B forever!!

  148. River on October 1st, 2010 11:52 pm

@Robert Even HH knows most fans watch the show for B&B. The show is about crime, yes, but slightly more about the characters.

  149. Robert on October 2nd, 2010 5:43 am

@river yeah CHARACTERS not only booth and brennan, there’s more than them in the show there’s a team.

  150. Dawn on October 3rd, 2010 9:09 am

Does anyone see how uncomfortable Booth is when Hannah and Brennan are together? When Hannah is there Booth draws back and is unattached. The only thing they have going for them is sex. And as everyone knows sex only lasts so long and then it becomes boring and usual. Plus Hannah is already bored with the Washington Press Corps. She needs excitement and Booth needs Parker. Hannah will leave out of sheer boredom and expect Booth to pick up and go with her and he will realize that this is not the person he thought she was. They will part and he will realize that she was the rebound relationship. I think Cam will be the one to die. If Hannah died it would be too obvious. Brennan is already affected by this relationship and she is not hiding it at all. Bring in a hot and sexy man for Brennan while this is all going on and see how Booth likes it?!?! Maybe that man and Hannah can hook up and leave together. Let Brennan be happy too. Maybe the show needs new writers. First episode was terrible. Second episode was terrible. May watch or not. Love Big Bang Theory. Come on Bones writers. Give us something to get excited about.

  151. joybrennan on October 3rd, 2010 4:03 pm

In his talk on writing last spring, HH talked about being an artist vs. being a tv writer. He mentioned the show he really enjoys and respects is “The Wire” because it “never resets, never explains dialogue…” but it doesn’t get much of an audience, basically because it’s too smart. So, basically, in order to attract a mass audience, in his theory, you have to write…kind of dumb. Having watched the numbers as of late, I have to say, he’s right. So, while it’s sad that what was once a rather smart show has been reduced to the level of a soap-opera. at least the actors are really good. It’s just a matter of adjusting expectations.

So, okay, this is no longer brilliant writing, or “Must-See” TV. It had 3 really good years of that before it started sliding… Am I willing to suspend my disbelief even more and continue following the show? Yes, because it seems no matter how implausible a scene is, no matter how much the character history gets thrown out the window in a reset, the actors are able to make the moments work. HH definitely has one of the best casts on television. I just have to remember that, at this point, there is NO continuity!

As for Hannah – I don’t have to give her a chance. This is a soap opera, and the character is a plot device who will be gone eventually – and some other thing will take it’s place. It’s completely possible to skip this arc, come back in later, and know what’s going on. Frankly, I can’t bear much of watching Emily do sad and broken-hearted – she’s too damn good!

  152. lauren sue on October 4th, 2010 8:55 pm

Okay. So Booth has a lover. So what? All these people are like freaking out because Booth is looking at a girl besides Brennan. Am I a Booth and Brennan fan?? Of course! But I love the show so much more than to let it go just because they don’t have my favorite people together. I have lasted this long and I will never stop watching it until ends. Because it’s an honestly awesome show with great actors and great writing. Shame on you people for not watching because you don’t like Booth with someone! You were never really Bones fans in the first place then!

  153. River on October 4th, 2010 11:05 pm

@Lauren I’m not watching because I’m tired of all of the drama
in the show being new love interests. I want something different. That doesn’t make me an untrue fan.
    Queen of the discussion section.

  154. jen on October 5th, 2010 10:12 am

This is depressing, seeing two people who are clearly meant for each other, kept apart. I will not be impressed if she’s kept around. She’s onlt useful on a short term contract. I love bones, and this is starting to depress me, this is the point where all hshows go downhill

  155. boo on October 6th, 2010 6:42 am

From watching the episode, I’d say there’s only one part of Booth that Hannah truly loves.

  156. Elizabeth Tice on October 8th, 2010 12:57 am

To end each segment on a down note and make Brennan look so sad will help the ratings to plummet and cause a downspiral on the ratings. Who wants to be depressed after watching “Bones?” The purpose of entertainment is to keep you in good spirits to come back for more. Unfortunately, the current scripts do not do much for Booth’s image as he appears shallow and fickle, proving the opposite of what he believes about love NOT being transcient. HH, I am afraid you are messing with the script too much and not in a positive way.

One of the best solutions is bring back the tension between Booth and Bones, he apologizes to her, bring back the humor, and model them on the old movie characters of Nick and Nora Charles in the “Thin Man” series. They were married, had great comedic timing, and solved murders at the same time.

  157. Marypat on October 8th, 2010 1:17 am

I agree with the last commnet. I don’t think the storyline does anything for anyone. Booth was the one who said to Brennon that they would meet in one year to sort things out. The new plot line makes him seem wishy-washy and fickle, not the great guy we knew and loved. He doesn’t seem comfortable with his lines, he certainly isn’t very convincing with Hannah, and he seems cold to Brennan. As for Brennan, she is getting sadder and sadder with each episode. is all this unhappiness supposed to maker her see the errors of her ways and blossom into a more outgoing and loving person? I love the show and am so sorry to see the storyline decline. I would have loved to see the main characters resolve their relationship and go forward. I saw an old movie called the Thin Man where the main characters, NIcky and Nora Charles, were a 2 married detectives, each with a strong character, always in the thick of everything, and always had a fast repartee. I know the “rules” were that partners couldn’t be a couple, but there easily could be ways around that, given that Brennan has unusal qualifications. Nothing against the show’s cast whom I love, but the last 3 episodes have had really depressing endings. It’s just a show, but why tune in to be disappointed and saddened by the recent developments. And I really don’t like Hannah!!!!

  158. Matt on October 8th, 2010 3:51 am

If your main point to watching the show is to see Booth and Brennan get together, you’re lame.

This is not Gilmore Girls or some other lame WB show. It’s a crime drama with a comedic twist. The cases are the best part.

  159. Story on October 8th, 2010 5:26 pm

Oh – I agree with everyone! Excepting the last comment – in part – I think we all watch this show for a sort of escape. The comedy and mystery are an important part of that, but let’s not under estimate the human drama. Bones’ characters and story are so well developed, you can almost believe that they’re real. They are intelligent, and strong, but tolerant and vulnerable – qualities we can relate to, that we strive for, and that we want rewarded.

But back to the issue at hand – poor Brennan! I should say that I watched very little of season 5 – I found four years of getting to know one another and working out their own issues believable, but the coma was too far, seemed like a cheap trick to me. I don’t know now, from what I hear the writers managed to put everything right, and redeem the integrity of the plot and characters, and I give them the benefit of the doubt they will patch up this aweful Hannah debacle. I, however, am not clever enough to see how, and can only mourn for poor, poor Brennan.

My one plea to the writers – if Brennan and Booth do sort themselves out please don’t trivialize or cheapen their relationship by making it on again off again- I don’t think most of us DO watch it for the tension!

  160. oksana on October 14th, 2010 9:34 pm

i do not like Hannah that much although bringing jealous feelings towards Brennan is good.

  161. becky on October 15th, 2010 4:29 pm

am a big faN OF BONES BUT I,LL DON,T LIKE KATHERYN WINNICK AS BOOTH NEW GIRLFRIEND. IT GOT TO BE BONES AND BOOTH..ON THEM………………

  162. Lynette on October 19th, 2010 10:28 pm

just need to have it end up being Booth and Bones…….I think the idea of them walking into a room together and putting a “do not disturb sign” on the door is a good one☺

  163. marry on October 28th, 2010 6:47 pm

Wow, this is a lot of emotions .. but I’m your opinion … Hannah has to returned to Afhganistan, so that Brennan and Booth get together.. BUT not watching the show, because it is depressing, is not fair. I mean this show needs us.. and we love the show, and whatever happens, I will watch it because its a really nice show.. I like the Bones characters.. and the actors and I think the writers will do the right thing to make us happy again, even if they need some time…SO RELAX!!!!! And give HH a chance to fix it =)

  164. sookie flower on October 29th, 2010 8:49 am

i don’t think that i will ever accept hannah the bitch stole brennens man and i am so annoyed that brennen did stand up and just say back off thats my man and that she said no in season 4. and i alao don’t think that this sould be the last season, on the last episode they do it should be booth and brennen get married because that would be so sweet and i would be so happy that they get to be together finally after all those years of sexual tension and feeling for each other !!!!!!

  165. sophie_910 on January 12th, 2011 1:16 am

i don’t want Hannah and Booth together. They are not perfect together. I don’t like her. i want Brennan and Booth together. now i think i don’t want to watch Bones anymore!!!! Suck on that thumb, MATE !!!

  166. Kim on January 13th, 2011 7:43 pm

I watched the season… It was depressing. It was awful to watch Bones break down and cry when she finally knew she loved Booth. He wasn’t very nice to her in that scene. But… I guess Booth didn’t love Bones after all if he could fall in love so quickly and completely in the short time they were apart.
I think the writers of this show made a big mistake and I really can’t see a way for them to fix it.

  167. James Morris on January 17th, 2011 8:34 am

I don’t recall the episode but there is a conversation between Brennan and Tess, where Brennan asks Tess why she didn’t marry Booth when he asked. Tess replies that people of have a momment when they can either ignite or not and that they simply missed their moment. I have actually stopped watching Bones after the 100th because I think the writers have basically ensured that B&B have missed their moment and their is no realistic way back for them now.

  168. sarah on February 8th, 2011 10:15 pm

i dont think he should marry hannah bones obvisisly likes him and if he marries hannah im not going to watch the show anymore

  169. Amanda on February 10th, 2011 10:12 am

I may hate Hannah and ya sure I do want Bren and Booth to get together. But I don’t think that they should just get rid of Hannah yet. Hannah plays a big part of Booth’s life and if she were to just leave now I don’t think that he would be the same. It would make everything very awkward. I think that I can deal with her for a few more episodes but then after that they have to get rid of her. Bones loves him and anyone can see that Booth still has strong feelings for her to. So why not put them together.

  170. lefty on March 17th, 2011 8:25 pm

I’d marry Hannah in half a heartbeat. Much better looking than Bones and so much less baggage

  171. Imane Assi on June 27th, 2012 9:08 am

After he gave up on her the way he did om the 100th episode, once she told him how She felt,he had the choice between Hannah and Brennan. When he told Hannah about it,he should also have told her that he was confused,if he actually was, that he needed space and time to figure out how he felt and make a choice. And you know what?he made his choice:He chose to propose to Hannah less than a year after he claimed his love for Brennan would last 30-49-50 years….That’s all I needed to know how he felt about Brennan. After 6 years waiting for them to finally give into their feelings,Booth made Brennan his rebound girl.
If he had proposed to Hannah before Brennan’s confession,I would have understood. But he did it after Brennan’s confession, making a clear choice.
Unlike Booth,Brennan didn’t just jump in another relationship when he rejected her.She needed time to heal and land back on her feet before trying to move on.Booth even dated someone, her name was Catherine or something, right after Brennan rejected him and before Hannah. That’s how fast he moved on from his so called love for her.
He tries one time, one time only and he gives up?So much for his great love for Brennan
