HOUSE: ‘Unplanned Parenthood’

October 19, 2010 by

Dude doctors don’t make the best baby-sitters.

I should know.

My mom dated a doctor once too and would sometimes leave me alone with him.

He was my dad.

Haha.

No, but seriously. True story, they’re not that awesome with kids because they’re far more comfortable focusing their attentions on, you know, things like cutting someone open, combatting deadly diseases, etc. SESAME STREET and smelly diapers isn’t really in their repertoire.

However, if something bad happens — like you accidentally swallow a dime that their friend Wilson left lying around or you’re born oxygen-deprived because your mommy’s got cancer — they step right up to the plate… which is pretty sweet.

And if I were Cuddy’s kid — or Cuddy — I wouldn’t have been worried at all. Wilson and House had things covered last night, no?

Did you enjoy the episode?

Any thoughts on the team’s efforts to find a lady doc?

And how ’bout our girl Jennifer Grey playing patient?

Our HOUSE guy, Erik Wilkinson, will be back later today with a more complete dissection of the hour. But for now, feel free to weigh in below…

I enjoyed the ep mostly but two things bothered me. Mostly that House and even Wilson seemed to think it would be acceptable to use a rectal scope on Rachel without asking her mother, just so long as her mom didn’t find out. Dating a woman isn’t carte blanche to take medical responsibility for her child. Also that the ending (a woman with lung cancer dying of an embolism because she wanted to wait as long as possible to help her baby) has been done on House before.

I’d much rather see Chang as the new Doctor than Amber Tambylin’s new earnest and ethical med student. Kind of feels like S1 Cameron all over again. Characters like Chang, and Amber, always seem to be the better written/less annoying ones.

love house and in many ways relate to the doctor, i never do these things like writing note about my opion i think you relate in one way or the other in not just the main man the all. try using a better grip on mehodone you really didnt give it much of a chance . if you are going to touch on a medical and scoial subject you need more then one hour. the stereo type, might change it is also a great pain managment tool, and turns out as far as health issues and crime are far better like liver kidneys ect. havent seen any probs unlike other opiats. even during pragnetcy.your life becomes more manageable and its despenced and monitored by medical professional and must be in counciling or therapy.it may not be the answer but one step to less painful living andstpoing the behavior of an addict if the person wants it.
