VOTE 2010: What is Your Favorite New Fall Show?

November 2, 2010 by

Continuing on with our election day polls, Give Me My Remote wants you to pick your favorite new fall series.

Sure, all the talk has been about the fact that there isn’t a breakout hit like MODERN FAMILY or GLEE, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some quality television on this list.

You’ve had a couple months to get to know most of these shows, so now we want to know which one — of those that have survived so far — you’re digging the most.

Vote below and tell us about your selection in the comments!

Keep checking back, because we’ll have new polls going live all day!

I picked Boardwalk Empire…but wanted to give a shout out to some of the others that have made my must watch… Blue Bloods, The Event!!, Outsourced and i guess Hawaii 5-0 but it is pretty cheeze

RAISING HOPE! I tried a few new things: Nikita, No Ordinary Family, Hawaii 5-0, but picked up Raising Hope a bit later, and it`s the only one that`s stuck!

Exercising my option to include a write-in vote for LONE STAR! You were gone too soon.

My vote went to RAISING HOPE, a show I don’t even watch consistently. So sad to realize that I haven’t added any new shows to my lineup this year. Nothing caught my attention.

TERRIERS!!!!!!! It’s not in the poll! Granted, I’m completely in love with The Walking Dead, but it’s only had one episode so far. Terriers has had about 7 or 8 and it’s SO CRAZY GOOD. Plus, it needs ratings stat. Seriously, if anyone has an affinity for buddy shows, cop shows, quirky characters, writing that will surprise and delight you on a regular basis, great theme music, anything; PLEASE check it out. It’s on Wednesdays on F/X at 10, I believe (I don’t get F/X in Canadaland).

Honestly – critics love it, fans are obsessed, but nobody’s watching it. Even if you just check it out for the tangential connection to True Blood (Michael Raymond James – Rene – stars in the show), please do. You will love it.

Raising Hope is great too – love it. And I’m with Kath – I loved Lone Star.

Oh wow – did I totally miss that Terriers is in the poll? If so, whoops! But, my diatribe above still stands, lol.

Terriers – a funny, smart, moving show made by funny, smart, moving people: Ted Griffin (Ocean’s Eleven), Shawn Ryan (Angel, The Shield, The Unit, Lie to Me) Tim Minear (Firefly, Angel, The Inside, Wonderfalls, Dollhouse).

If you’re not watching it, you’re missing one of the best new shows ever. Scrappy, unconventional, heartfelt, unique. Read Maureen Ryan on it (http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/10/20/talking-terriers-with-donal-logue-and-michael-raymond-james/) and then get yourself to Hulu or Fox OnDemand and catch up.

    TERRIERS!

Nikita, all the way. I haven’t watched the Walking Dead ep yet, but I had a hell of a time getting through the first episode of Boardwalk Empire so it’s definitely not that.

I voted for Terriers, but really, the new fall shows this year are a total disappointment. I wouldn’t care if any of them were cancelled.
Considering the wealth of great tv that has been axed prematurely in the past two or three years, you’d think the networks would revive one or two of the best……

LOVE Terriers! As the season moves along we get to know much more about the actors. And like them, a lot! They’re very real. Fantastic show. I look forward to it every week and usually watch a rerun too.

Terriers. Best new show. Sophisticated story arc, mature writing, complicated and endearing characters, good struggles with evil. Love it!
