THE BACHELOR Season 15: First Impressions

January 4, 2011 by

Another season of THE BACHELOR, another hot mess.

Oy.

Ladies, have some control over yourself.

Slapping Brad? Not cool. Grabbing his butt five seconds after meeting him? Ew. Waxing him? Creepy.

Bringing him food or serenading him? That’s okay.

Also, ladies, wearing dresses that are barely the length of oversized shirts? Skanky. If it looks like you’re at risk for showing your crotch on national television, maybe it’s time to make your dress a few inches longer, mmkay?

So what else went down in THE BACHELOR season premiere?

I have to admit Brad is already on my bad side. Yes, it was honorable for him to offer the women of the house a chance to leave now that they knew he had returned. Of course none of them took him up on it, but it was a decent thing for him to do.

But when Alli and Renee were fighting for his attention and each kept taking him away from the other, he should have stepped in and stopped the ridiculousness. When Renee finally got a moment alone with him, another girl immediately dragged him away and the best he could do was apologize as the girl legitimately was pulling his arm to lead him away?

Um, Brad? You’ve done this before. You’re in charge here. If you saw that other girls kept stealing you away from a particular girl, stand up for yourself and her and say, “I will be with you as soon as I finish with Renee.” Really, it’s not that hard.

What is hard is understanding why he kept Madison and her fangs around. No, Brad, the fangs are not hot. But I am thankful she didn’t attempt bite to him. I couldn’t have been the only one who was just waiting for her to pull that move. Please, please, please, please, please universe, I beg of you, don’t let her pull that stunt.

However, Madison won’t be the only crazy lady in the house. Chantal — AKA the chick who slapped Brad when they first were introduced — got the final rose of the evening. Um…well, okay then.

What did you think of the season premiere?

Should we take bets on how many times the phrases “changed man,” “done this before” and “left two girls” will be used this season?

And did anyone else think Jackie resembles GLEE’s Lea Michele?

Let’s chat…

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until he told Madison that he thought her fangs are sexy. Alrighty then. Good luck with your sexy vampire girl, Brad. Can’t wait to see your creepy vampire kids. Oy.

I’ve never watched an episode of the Bachelor before last night. Unfortunately, I got sucked in as I was flipping channels and couldn’t seem to make myself turn away from the train wreck.

Aside from the awkwardness of the whole situation…I couldn’t help but feel that Brad was trying too hard. I understand that he feels like he made a mistake. But he said his piece right up front…why the HELL did he spend the rest of the evening making the SAME statements over and over and over again. If it’s in the past, move on.

As for the ladies…who would want to be friends with most of them…let alone marry them? Fangs? Ass grabbing at the introduction? Waxing? What is wrong with these people? Aside from the obvious. And Brad kept them around…

He obviously has a type. Bottle blondes with plastic parts. Thankfully he had some sense of the national viewership and gave the rose to one of the more likable women. But I didn’t notice her in any of the footage from the upcoming season…I don’t think that bodes well.

This show is such a joke!

Is it just me or on the previews of the show…they show Brad on one knee proposing to a blond…?? Why do they give away so much in these previews. Or maybe that was from something else…??

I think the show last night was a bore. Why is everyone acting like Brad did something wrong. He wasen’t in love with the choices from the last time around. Did you want him to propose to someone only to break their heart later? What is his crime, not likly the last tramps? He had nothing to apologize for in my opinion. On the other hand some of the girls should have been nicer or more grown up on the show. Really if I had 5 seconds with Brad, would I really want to talk about what happened 3 years ago or would I want to talk about him or me or us… Really, they only let shallow women with low IQ’s on this joke of a show.

Yes, for me, the vampire thing pushed Brad over the edge from boring to weird-guy-who-I-would-have-never-have-any-interest-in. If the vampire girl is faking, Brad thinks she’s wasting everyone’s time, but if she is an actual genuine vampire, he might actually be into it?! What? WHAT?! Okay maybe he is following therapist’s orders to be more open to finding love. But there’s such a thing as too open. Hello! Getting over your fear of commitment does not equal giving vampires a chance.

Glad you guys were as freaked out by the vampire thing as I was.
