The Middle | 8pm on ABC
“Super Sunday”
As the Super Bowl approaches, Mike is thrilled when Brick takes his advice and studies up on football in order to understand and talk the sport. But Axl thinks his little brother is taking over his turf by being Mike’s football buddy – a position Axl used to cherish. Meanwhile, Frankie thinks her professional career is looking up when Mr. Ehlert chooses her to accompany him to a managerial seminar, and ex-boyfriend Brad asks Sue to be his dance partner for the school’s annual Square Dancing with the Stars.

American Idol | 8pm on Fox | Season Premiere
“Auditions #1: New York/New Jersey”
Television’s No. 1 series returns for its milestone 10th season with all-new contestants, a brand-new judging panel and the best and worst of auditions. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, the show that transforms dreams into reality welcomes seasoned superstars Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who will sit alongside Randy Jackson at the judges’ table. The new CBS reality-competition series features one of the most inclusive talent searches ever on television, with Paula Abdul serving as executive producer, mentor and lead expert of the series.

Better With You | 8:30pm on ABC
“Better with a Cat”
After parents-to-be Mia and Caseyadopta cat, the pediatrician tells them they shouldn’t have a stray animal around the baby. Maddie and Ben enter into a spirited competition with Vicky and Joel, all under the impression that if one of them takes in Mr. Meow-gi, then Mia and Casey will name that couple as the baby’s guardian.

Modern Family | 9pm on ABC
“Caught in the Act”
Plans backfire when the kids go to surprise their parents with breakfast in bed on their anniversary, only to catch Phil and Claire in a compromising position. Meanwhile, Jay and Gloria’s Vegas getaway is thwarted by a brutally honest email that was accidentally sent to Claire, and Mitch and Cam desperately try to get an “in” at the hot new neighborhood restaurant whose owner happens to be a mom (played by Rachael Harris) at Lily’s preschool.

Chase | 9pm on NBC
“Narco, Part 1”
When Pablo Cordova (guest star Yancy Arias) is arrested on suspicion of drug distribution and the lead witness in the case winds up dead, the U.S. Marshals discover the killer is his wife, Isabella (guest star Lana Parilla). Isabella will stop at nothing to keep Pablo from going to jail and ensure that her family stays together, which ultimately puts Annie (Kelli Giddish) in serious danger. In a case that hits close to home, Marco (Amaury Nolasco) is forced to recall his dark days with the narcotics division, while Jimmy (Cole Hauser) must decide the fate of his relationship with Natalie (guest star Siena Goines).

Criminal Minds | 9pm on CBS
“Corazon”
As the BAU travels to Miami to investigate a series of bizarre, ritualistic murders, Reid suffers a series of blinding headaches andhallucinationsthat leave him concerned for his health.

Friday Night Lights | 9pm on DirecTV
“Don’t Go”
An elite college football program attempts to lure Coach away from East Dillon. Vince vows to earn his spot back. Friends and family speak at Tim’s parole hearing. East Dillon holds a Fall Sports Banquet.

Cougar Town | 9:30pm on ABC
“A Thing About You”
While the guys argue that men are loyal friends and women will abandon their pals at the drop of a hat, one thing is certain — everyone has each other’s backs in the cul-de-sac crew. Although Laurie may be the worst houseguest ever, Jules is there for her when she needs a place to stay; Laurie helps Jules to realize she doesn’t need to change for others; and when Bobby is jealous that Travis has gone to Grayson for advice, Grayson comes through for his buddy.

Blue Bloods | 10pm on CBS
“Little Fish”
Danny and Jackie investigate the murder of a high-end escort found floating in the river. Meanwhile, Frank vows to bring a killer to justice when a missing boy’s remains are found from a case that he was emotionally invested in 25 years ago.

Law & Order: SVU | 10pm on NBC
“Dirty”
Detective Saliyah “Sunny” Qadri (guest star Shohreh Aghdashloo) goes in search of Brooklyn District Attorney Page Ferguson, who she fears may be in danger. Qadri finds Ferguson just in time to witness her fall from the top of a parking garage. When Benson arrives, she discovers that the crime scene has been tampered with. Benson turns to an old friend, Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Danielson (guest star Gloria Reuben) for help. As the investigation progresses, Benson begins to question Ferguson’s suspicious past and Qadri’s involvement in the case.

Top Chef | 10pm on Bravo
“Restaurant Wars: One Night Only”
After a fish fillet contest, the chefs must conceptualize and open “one night only” restaurants. One contestant stinks up the kitchen and gets sent home.

Hot In Cleveland | 10pm on TV Land | 2nd Season Premiere
“Free Elka”
Elka encounters an old friend in prison, while Melanie, Joy and Victoria struggle to raise money for her bail. Meanwhile, Joy gets an interesting letter from the INS and Victoria loses her fortune.
