GOSSIP GIRL Producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Safran Tease ‘The Kids Are Not All Right’

GOSSIP GIRL is back!

After a hiatus that lasted entirely too long, our favorite Upper East Siders return tonight and are causing more trouble than ever.

So what’s going down in this evening’s brand new episode?

I just got off the phone with GOSSIP GIRL executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Safran, who were willing to tease some of the antics to come in “The Kids Are Not All Right”…

“When we last left off, everyone was going off for the Christmas holidays and everyone sort of had a mission, something they were preparing for except for Dan and Blair who were going to be the only two left in Manhattan,” Savage hinted. “So when this episode starts, we will pick up with everyone and what they did and where it’s going.”

Dan alone with Blair? What does that mean for his possibly rekindled relationship with Serena? Or will S be too busy fighting with her mom to concentrate on romance?

“The answer to that question will become more apparent after tonight’s episode,” Safran teased. “But it is true that Serena is going to spend a lot of time dealing with her issues with her mother and also issues with the fact that an innocent man is in prison [because of her mother]. I think that will definitely impact her relationship/friendship with Dan in a way.”

And no, don’t expect it to be smooth sailing between Serena and Lily any time soon. In fact, things are about to get much worse.

“At the end of ‘The Townie,’ we saw Serena and Chuck were both really angry with Lily,” said Savage. “And in this first episode back, they discover that there’s something that the two of them can do together that will achieve both of their goals. They have a fun alliance.”

Chuck AND Serena vs. Lily? Oh boy. Anyone else feeling sorry for Lily?

“Well, she should have thought of that three years ago before signing that affidavit!” Savage joked. “You know, she always operates from the right place in her heart of protecting her children and her family and being that fierce mama bear. But it’s definitely true that she’s made some wrong turns in trying to achieve those goals.”

That’s putting it mildly, right?

Any theories on what move Chuck and Serena will pull to get back at Lily?
