BONES Finds Geoff Stults as Potential Spinoff Lead

January 28, 2011 by

The possible BONES spinoff has found its lead.

Fox has confirmed to Give Me My Remote that former OCTOBER ROAD actor Geoff Stults has been cast as Walter Sherman in the upcoming BONES spinoff episode. The hour is set to start filming in early February and is slated to air as the 19th episode of the season. TVLine was first to report Stults’s casting.

The potential spinoff follows former military man Walter (aka “The Locator”) who can find anything, but his polarizing personality — including extreme paranoia and blunt questions – makes him difficult to deal with. Booth has a history with Walter and to say that Booth dislikes him would be putting it mildly.

It was announced last week that Michael Clarke Duncan will play Leo, one of the partners who assists Walter with his cases.

I’m optimistic about this! I never would have picked him, but I think that has more to do with my own ideas of what the show would be like/the character would be like. I really like this actor (and he is gorgeous!), so I’m pleased…just really interested to see how it plays out. I’m on board…for sure 🙂

Marisa, if you’re talking about the impact of this casting on the new series, if I’m being honest, I actually don’t care, since I only plan on watching the “pilot.” If on your question you were referring to him as a possible love interest for Brennan, well, as long as they follow through with the script, I won’t mind him at all. I think it will be fun watching him and Booth. 😉

Also he’s very well structured. 🙂

    In Hart we trust, right?

He is most definitely well structured, so I’m totally on board for the pilot. How well it’s executed will determine whether or not I watch the rest. But it sounds pretty good!
