Has BONES Been Renewed For Season 7?

Has BONES been renewed for a seventh season? Series star David Boreanaz (Booth) sure seems to think so. Boreanaz had fans buzzing earlier tonight after he tweeted, “Oh, Season 7 is GO for Bones.”
While Fox could not confirm the news tonight, BONES creator Hart Hanson told reporters last month that he was “very confident” the network and studio would come to a deal to renew the show for next season.
A potential seventh season isn’t without complications. Emily Deschanel (Brennan) is pregnant and that could impact shooting for next year. The series could either face losing Deschanel (and Brennan) for multiple episodes or have a shortened season.

You are one of the very few entertainment journalists out there who have a grasp of what responsible journalism is – not spoiling shows for the viewers, confirming news from reliable sources first, not writing an article without confirmation from the network executives just so you could be the one to break the news. Not that David Boreanaz is an unreliable source, but news on renewals should be confirmed with the TPTB (network executives) first.

Loving this news Marisa, but worried about less episodes and less Brennan/Emily Deschanel. It’s not Bones without Bones!
I really prefer a season with less episodes that a season with episodes without Emily, I doesn’t make sense. She is the star of this show I can’t even imagine one episode without her

@Linda – Until Fox confirms the show is renewed (which they were unable to do tonight) and what their plans are, it’s just speculation. It’s possible they’ve found a magical solution to make sure neither of those things happen.
I read that Bones has been renewed for one season only. Not certain if it will
be a shorter season due to the pregnancy of E Deschanel.
HH had wanted a 2 year contract. But FOX gave offer only one year.
I guess this will be the last season for Bones. So, I hope the writers can tie up
all the lose ends. The show can end the same way Magnum PI ended.
The marriage of Booth/Brennan…. etc.
I am anxiously waiting for the question mark to turn into a period! They could always do what Grey’s did when Ellen was pregnant… film ahead and have a few character!light episodes.

Marisa, thanks…I just read it’s a definite and not a shortened season. So perhaps they have found a realistic solution to Emiliy Deschanel’s pregnancy. Again, a word of thanks to your trustworthy and reliable posts. I’m sure it would have been easy to jump on the bandwagon and make season 7 seem a definite, without valid confirmation. That goes for spoilers too. I have still not recovered from the SO spoiler post on another blog two minutes after the last episode of season 5 aired. Are you going to be doing a on-line live conversation after the Bones finale?

Bones could be held captive or something for a few shows. they could always pretape a few scenes and incorporate them into the show. i mean honestly, tv has been working around pregnancies since I love lucy. a shortened season would suck unless they give us more of what we want (more booth and Bones) in a shortened season.
