BONES Promo: Are Booth and Brennan Crossing a Line?

If you watched tonight’s episode of BONES, you likely saw the super revealing promo for the penultimate episode of the season, “The Hole in the Heart,” which airs next Thursday. If you didn’t and you want to stay spoiler free, avert your eyes now!
If you did see it…wowza. 31 seconds isn’t a lot of time, but they managed to squeeze in laughs, drama and oh, yeah, Booth and Brennan falling into bed together (in a potentially platonic manner).

Seems like the wouldn’t give away such a big thing so easily. I’m sure it is an innocent comforting thing but I am hoping I am wrong and my money is sadly on Sweets being the one that will fall…. 🙁
I hope not.. it’s already too much… and it’s sad to see that some people resume 6 years of a show at only that… i mean Bones is more than B&B-together-in-a-bed ….
Christ, even if it is a platonic moment, I will probably weep with happiness. They’ve barely touched each other all season. I’d be extremely satisfied with a nice little cuddle sesh in bed.
And I’d also argue that it’s pretty much impossible for these two to be completely platonic at this point. Even if they keep their hands off each other, that is obviously a very emotional scene. I’m glad they’re opening up to each other. I’m glad to see her getting vulnerable and him comforting her. That’s the track they need to be on at this point.
As far as BnB go, I’m guessing it’ll be exactly like we saw…Booth comforting Brennan, while they happen to be in his bed 🙂 Would I like to see more? Of course I would, but I don’t see that happening just yet.
I don’t think any main characters will be dying, and I’ll just leave it at that 😉
CUDDLING FOR THE WIN! <3 I do not want them to be together (in that way) before they are a couple, but what if that's the step they're taking? Nobody expects B&B to get together next episode, but what if that is when it happens? The behind the scene photo from the end of the episode looks extremely 'couple-y'. Either way, I'm overflowing with all different kinds of emotions. B&B own my freaking heart.
I think it will be her dad or sweets. Both will kill me. I hope B&B will finally get together, but I dont think it will happen.
All I have to say about the potential of Fox spoiling a Booth-Brennan hookup: GOD, I REALLY HOPE SO!

I’m with K.R, in that I think it’s V. Nigel-Murray. My only problem with that is…would Brennan need that much comforting if it is him? I can MAYBE see her being that upset about Sweets. MAYBE even Daisy, since they went off together for the 7 months, but… I dunno. *sigh* Regardless, now I’m counting the seconds until next Thursday, so good for FOX. lol
I believe that Brennan needs the comforting because the bullet was intended for Booth. She mentioned in the Season 5 finale that she was having trouble worrying about how broken up she would be if something happened to Booth and she was unable to get to him in time. I think the emotional scene is in response to getting close to that coupled with losing a friend (VNM). Although she is not truly close to any of the squinterns, I think having one killed in front of her eyes would be very upsetting.
As much as I hate to get my hopes up, I do believe that B&B get together in that scene. This gives the writers a perfect way to leave the audience dangling over the summer pondering whether or not Brennan will return to season 7 pregnant. I read that HH has proposed 6 different ways to take the show into season 7 and having the possibility of a pregnancy would sure make it easier to get to that number.
Dealing with an unexpected pregnancy at the beginning of a relationship will give the writers plenty of stuff to write about. This would be very unexpected and in line with the shocking types of “game changers” that the writers enjoy tossing our way.
I personally am very excited about the possibility and think it will take the show in a whole new direction—something that would be refreshing after the first half of season 6.
Well, I think the pregnency thing might accually be ok. Think about the Ross and Rachel baby. They got closer but still remain a part and plus we got to see little bits and pieces of what we wanted in the long run. If they write it it, hopefully HH and the writers can make it as good as Friends did.
As for who I think is going to die, I’d like to say Sweets. Even though I love that he was in a relationship with Daisy, the keyword is WAS. Nothing has shown up in that aspect and I think Sweets hasn’t ever quite fit in with out little group. I’m hoping its him, sorry, and not one of out beloved characters. If they get a season three finale repet, I’m gonna hunt HH down and SHOOT HIM WITH THE SAME GUN THAT KILLED OUR MAIN CHARACTER!!! That is all. *Smilez*
I for one hate Sweets and would love for it to be him. I know lot like him, but I can’t stand him, almost everytime he is on he make some comment which makes me annoyed with him… I hate that is is always with B&B now like they can’t do anything without that little mascot…. however I don’t think it will be him… However I do think it will end up being VHM…

I’m going to be devastated if it’s VNM, he’s my favourite squintern. I could easily live without Daisy or even Fisher but not Vincent. I know it’s looking that way, but I’m hoping that it doesn’t happen. Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt for me!!
I’m not going to assume the B&B thing is anything more than a comforting hug at a time of need, until I see it with my own eyes. Either way it’s massive progress for them both, even if it does only turn out to be a hug. I don’t think having them fall into bed and her getting pregnant just to be able to write ED’s pregnancy in, is going to work, much as I’d love to see them as an actual couple. It’s too soon after A&H’s baby and wayyyy too soon for B&B IMHO.
I plan to have tissues on standby for a day of mourning for VMN next week!
With a heavy heart it’s VNM. Noooooooo. I got teary watching the promo so I am going to have to prepare myself for the actual episode. And if the scene with BB is as far as it goes i’m good with that…for now.
yes, it’s spoilery, but after all the wailing and rending of garments over the Hannah arc, perhaps Fox feels the need to lure some lost shipper viewers back in.
For the portion of the audience who only cares about B&B hooking up, now they know when to tune in.
Hole in the Heart/Pain in the Heart. Both episodes where “one of their own” is lost and Booth has a near-death experience (everyone thinks Booth *is* dead in the beginning of Pain the Heart).
My guess is that the emotional scene in the preview is about a lot more than just the person who died. The whole experience should bring up a lot of old, unresolved feelings. If they are only referred to in passing, I will still leap for joy at the continuity.
And yes, promos can be misleading, but that is the two of them, embracing, on a horizontal surface. Whatever else happens, the basics of that scene will occur and it will be the first time they’ve hugged each other since the season premiere. A line WILL be crossed. Will it be THE line? I suspect that is what we will be left to ponder all summer.
OMG I freaked out when I saw this promo. All I said was: please don’t let it be Sweets or Caroline! I feel like I’ve been waiting for episodes like these all season. Last night was my fav, and the next 2 look AMAZING!!
I can’t wait for next week’s episode!! I think Sweets or Vincent are going to be killed. Either would be really sad. :'( No matter what happens though, it looks like it is going to be exciting. Just curious, is there going to be a live episode chat on GMMR for next week’s episode or the finale?
Oh. That. Promo. I know they edit them to look amazing even if the show isn’t necessarily. But that promo was so loaded with things, I had to play it back like 4 times! I do agree with the others that if nothing else, the cuddling would still be great! We haven’t “a moment” like that since the airport scene when handsome soldier Booth comes to say goodbye (heartcrushing!) and though there have been little tidbits this season…well, its about time for some B&B goodtimes. Maybe we can get Booth to call her “Baby” again at least? I do think that it is really going to be comforting based off of whoever is killed, so there is a strong potential that “IT” won’t happen then, because that would be kind of awkward. Though I could still see how it might happen that way too. Someone mentioned above that there is something we will wonder about all summer…and that would be the very thing that would freak out Bones fans, if they embrace and then it cuts to commerical. Agh! I just hope they give us some truly satifsying moments no matter what.
Also, I don’t think its Sweets. They need his psychological profiling and stuff….we need his book to be resolved…and there’s no more Gordon Gordon, so I think ya gotta have Sweets…its not going to be one of the main people, so I’m heading towards a squintern. And since VNM was in the promo, it seems likely.

Just from seeing photos for the last episode for the season, it won’t be Hodgins, Angela or Max. I think it might be Vincent but it could end up being Sweets.
B&B in bed could be Brennan so distraught over how close Booth gets to being killed (the bullet is supposed to be for him, whoever dies is killed instead) that Booth just holds her to calm her down. On the other hand, it may be that the final line is crossed. On the other hand, I think HH is going to show us B&B holding each other in bed and then cut away to something else leaving us all in the air about what happened. That way we will have to check back next season to see what the heck happened. It will be long summer if that happens.
I believe it will be Cam to be killed off. She hasn’t been making many appearances this season and I think that was the writers’ way of weening us off of her storyline. I will be perfectly fine if that was just a comforting thing between Booth and Brennan because that still brings them one step closer to their true feelings.

Another thing is that Cam was originally only supposed to be on for a handfull of episodes when she first entered the show, so it would be easier for them to kill her off than any of the main characters, i.e. Sweets.
I think Booth is comforting her because she is scared out of her mind that the sniper is going to get Booth. That sniper shot the gravedigger’s head off from a mile and a half away. If I were Brennan I would be terrified for Booth’s life.
I also think the scene with Angela at the end of the promo has Brennan admitting to her best-pal that even though they two partners didn’t have sex, it was the most intimate experience she has had and she (Brennan) now realizes that she is in love with Booth. Brennan probably woke up in Booth’s arms in the morning and realized that she wants to share every aspect of her life with Booth.
Personally I don’t like the idea that Brennan becomes pregnant by Booth because it puts Booth right back in the same situation he was in with Rebecca and Parker. After 7 years, Booth deserves better than that.
While I’m focused more on the who gets shot, a relationship initiating might be nice.
They better not kill Sweets, he’s too important. Daisy’s the only acceptable loss, while Carla Gallo is a talented actress, Daisy’s too annoying.
What was that look Brennan had at the very end (when talking to Angela)??
It looked like a something happened with me and Booth look.
I don’t believe it’ll be anything more than Booth comforting Brennan. I agree that it’s probably because she’s worried about Booth getting shot.
What I want to know is – why is she talking with Booth on a bed? 🙂
How about this idea.. It is Booth’s brother that dies. Bones goes to comfort Booth and they hook up. Brennan gets pregnant and we end the season with that cliffhanger for next season.
I´ve thought it would be Sweets since we first heard the rumours. He has been really annoying this season, but i liked him earlier on.
Brennans distress though i also think is because she was afraid to loose Booth. I would like to see them comfort each other. That could be a good way to then have them start to talk about what they want.
I don´t think relationship wise it would be good with a pregnancy so early on, but storywise i think it could be very interesting and fun to see those two handle it.
I SO agree with Alison, I don’t want Brennan to get pregnant by Booth either (yet anyways, maybe somewhere down the road). It totally puts him back where he was with Parker and I don’t want them to start that way. Let them start becasue they WANT to, not because Booth feels obligated because he got her pregnant!
I am so looking foward to next week. I think it will be VNM, which is sad, but his last appearance made me not like him too much, he was a bit annoying! But I loved him last season!
And I agree with everyone else, whatever happens between B&B at least there is comfort and hugging/cuddling, and it is on a bed, which is also something new. While I would love for them to get together this seasons, I think we might need a little more healing over what happened in this past season. Hopefully early in Season 7 because I think it would be awesome to see the two of them navigating investigations as well as a relationship (which would be in secret for a while so they could stay partners)
I honestly don’t think that anything more will happen then cuddling/comforting. And I’m okay with that. All I want is a really cute moment. I don’t want them to have a one night stand and then Brennan’s pregnant. That sounds like a fanfiction to me. I’m not too sure who will die. It’s not going to be Hodgins, Angela, Max, Booth or Brennan. I really don’t think it’ll be Cam. It *might* be Sweets and it might be a squintern (VNM would be the most obvious squintern).
I started watching Bones 2 months ago and I watched all 6 seasons in one go. What has unfolded between 1X1 and 6×21 is a really beautiful and kind of sad love story I think. Hear me out!
Season 1 and season 2 were about getting each other know. Both Booth and Brennan were true to their nature and seemed to enjoy the company of someone who is totally different. And as opposites attract …
Season 3 and season 4 were about falling in love. They learned to understand each other, they helped each other, saved each other’s life, etc. And they fell in love. Both of them in their own way. I think Booth was the one who was more aware of it thus the coma dream. I believe that Brennan loved him, too, but was unable to accept it or show it.
And in season 5 things started to change. I believe that Booth got tired of the whole thing. They still had their moments, and Booth made a very last attempt in the 100th episode, but after that he just gave up.
And he wanted to run away.
Season 6. Not only with Afganisthan, but with Hannah, too. He wanted to be loved and he wanted a normal relationship. But clearly it did not work out, and I think he secretly knew it all the time.
And now I think he accepted the whole situation. He does not seem particularly happy about it. I guess it is realistic. It works like that in real life, too. After years of marriage, you know your spouse. You are aware of his faults.
A lot of things annoys you. You know that you may not be happy all the time with him. But you love him so deeply, you just can not do anything against it.
I see the same thing there. He can not detach, he knows she is the ONE. Happy or not, that is their fate.
That is my theory at least and I am really curious, if the writers thought the same.
However, it might be that the actors are tired of the show and they simply lost the chemistry?! I would understand that too. 6 years is a long time.
I do not believe that season 7 will be a good one. I am really curious
about what direction the show will take.
I have only one wish! I WANT THE OLD BOOTH BACK!

Ok, I am a total shipper, so reader beware! I watched that promo 50 times. Here is what I think (hope) happens: I think the scene in Booth’s bedroom and the scene with Angela and Brennan both happen before someone gets shot.
I think Brennan is scared out of her wits that Booth is going to get killed by Brodsky and it is that fear that finally makes her decide that she is not going to stay lonely on his couch. She goes into Booth’s bedroom to tell him she is scared and that she wants to be with him, rather than alone. He takes her in his arms and they lay back on the bed together. I also hope that she takes it all a little further and tells Booth that she loves him and they begin the sweetest, sexiest love scenes in all of TV land. Something must happen because she has a total cheshire-cat smile on her face with her pal, Angela.
I think the death happens closer to the end of the show, after the booth and bones hook up. And I think its going to be VNM. And Booth will get Brodsky.
Then…..next week when Angela and Hodgens baby is born, that is THE catylist for the real change in the game: Booth and Brennan get married.
