FRINGE Season 4 Premiere Changes Titles!

August 19, 2011 by

I hope you weren’t too attached to “A Sort of Homecoming” as the FRINGE season four premiere title.

“We will probably get in trouble for telling you [the title] and they will probably force us to change it,” FRINGE showrunner Jeff Pinkner warned us at Comic-Con after he revealed the planned name of the episode that will kick off the new season.

Turns out, he was right.

Fox has confirmed to Give Me My Remote that the opening hour of season four is now being called “Neither Here Nor There,” which is…just as vague as the first title.

So now with the new name, does that bring up any crazy new theories? While “A Sort of Homecoming” could potentially apply to Peter, it feels like “Neither Here Nor There” could apply to the alternate universes, Peter or any other variety of things.

AHH! Well the other one was cool but so is this one. I love the titles, they can be so vague and amazing sometimes.

I’m so excited for the new season of Fringe!!! These titles are intriguing. 🙂

Well, the er title was also the title of a U2 song, which was a nice tie-in from last season AND the lyrics were interesting in light of our current situation.

The new title? I guess it’s as applicable as the other… but I’m very ready to find out. C’mon, September 23!

My remote is cocked and ready for the new Fringe season, regardless of the title.

I think the old title gave me a little more hope of seeing Peter soon. Neither here nor there sounds like he’s gone for a while. Maybe it has nothing to do with Peter, so I will just keep hoping we see him soon and keep hoping that Sept. 23 gets here soon, although I will be sad to see summer end.

Love this title a lot more. As both worlds have “merged” more or less last season, it would be “Neither here nor there.” Good job, guys!

I think since it was originally a sort of homecoming, but is now neither here nor there that he will end up in yet another alternate universe or something along those lines.

Therefore it would be a sort of homecoming in that he is in a different world, but it is neither the original one or the one he was taken from as a child.

So he will sorta be home, yet neither here (Olivia’s world) or there (Peter’s original world)

I love them both! I am just so thrilled there is a season 4 that I don’t care if they don’t name any of the episodes!

Maybe a 3rd universe? That would be so cool.

Can’t you get anymore pop ups on this site—really annoying.

Maybe he will be sort of a ghost?

Like Dr. Daniel Jackson was a few times in Stargate Sg1.

Fringe has always chosen their titles apt to the story of the episode, so guessing from a title that is so vague, the epsiode may well be taking us to nowhere, showing us no Peter. I hope they will not drag on the disappearance of Peter and he will soon be back to Olivia. JJ Abrams must not ruin the show this time as he did with Alias in the 5th and last season.

I think it might be about Peter and where he’s ended up now that he’s gone from the two universes. Either that or it’ll be about everyone noticing something is diffrent with him gone.

The episode titles always link to the underlying theme of the episode…I think the new title referrs to ‘the bridge’. In past seasons, they’ve always picked up right where they’ve left off, so we may find ourselves right back at ‘the bridge’ meaning neither in the redverse or the blueverse.

I could see this season being very much like Lost in that we are given a present time, and throughout the episodes we get the back story of how the characters got to that present moment. It is a very easy way to fill in the blanks and create this whole new reality for the audience.

no matter how they do it, I simply can’t wait to see it!
