GLEE Season 3 Premiere ‘The Purple Piano Project’: You Ask, I Answer

September 16, 2011 by

Only a few days until the GLEE season 3 premiere! Are you excited?

I was lucky enough to go to a screening of the first episode earlier this week, so to make the wait a little less painful for you guys, I’m answering a few burning questions about what is going down with our favorite Gleeks…

Glee Q: What is (are) one (some) of the featured song(s)? – @huei_ming via Twitter
My favorite tune of the hour? The kids tackling a song from the Broadway musical “Hairspray.” (Lea Michele’s vocals in the beginning are absolutely gorgeous.)

Is there any Finchel in the premiere? We really haven’t heard much about them, seems Rachel is spending a lot of time w/ Kurt – @phb34 via Twitter
The Finn and Rachel (AKA “Finchel”) aspect of the hour is more subtle, but it is there. And yes, Rachel and Kurt will be spending a ton of time together in the premiere as the duo start to think about life post-high school and where they want to take their careers. It seems like the two will really be supporting each other this year as they strive to get into their dream school.

Is it true that there’s a Faberry emotional scene? Does it have to do with the return of Shelby and Beth? –@NatyoO via Twitter
There is a great scene between Rachel and Quinn (AKA “Faberry”) in the premiere, but no, it has nothing to do with Shelby and Beth, who are both MIA in the premiere. Instead, their (mostly one-sided) heart-to-heart deals with Quinn’s life choices post-summer break.

Does the season start [with] Will/Emma together or do we see it happen? – @JesseJarrell  via Twitter
If you’re like me, your jaw will drop when you see the first shots of Will and Emma together in season 3. Fans of Will/Emma should be really thrilled with the premiere.

Despite popular belief, not everyone loves Blaine. Please tell us that his arrival doesn’t mean he’s lead in everything! – @jvento via Twitter
You aren’t the only one who is wary of the latest addition to New Directions — at least one character objects to the arrival of the Warblers’ former leading man. For what it’s worth, I don’t feel he was inappropriately used in the season premiere, but yes, he does have a song of his own in the first hour of the season.

Make sure to keep checking back with Give Me My Remote leading up the premiere, because we still have a ton of interviews with the GLEE cast coming your way!

    @jvento
    Bitter much?

    @jvento yes but not all of us are fangirls who complain because a TV show seems “unfair” with the amount of solos given to it’s characters. Those of us who deal with homophobia in the real world are perfectly happy to see another GLBT character getting a spotlight and aren’t wasting time in trivialities like keeping a tally of Kurt to Blaine solos. The number of leads really should not be your point of focus when Kurt and Blaine are both representing seriously neglected minorities. Priorities, priorities.
