FRINGE: John Noble Praises Fox For Their ‘Fantastic’ ‘Past + Present + Future’ Web Series

If you’ve enjoyed the “Past + Present + Future” web series Fox developed to promote FRINGE to new viewers — and remind old viewers of what went down the past three years — you aren’t alone.
I sat down with FRINGE star John Noble (Walter) last week, and he had nothing but praise for the “fantastic” web series (as well as promo genius Ari Margolis, who cut the segments together).

ALL MY CHILDREN Signs Two Stars to Online Deal

With ALL MY CHILDREN just days away from its final episode on ABC, the first two stars from the daytime drama have signed on to join the series when it moves online.
“Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) and Lindsay Hartley (Dr. Cara Castillo Martin) have agreed to deals to join the company’s new production of ALL MY CHILDREN,” Prospect Park announced in a statement today.
Given the recent news that Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) likely won’t be returning to the series, does this soften the blow a bit? Who else are you hoping signs on?

THE CLEVELAND SHOW is adding another big name guest star to their already impressive roster: PARKS & RECREATION star Rashida Jones!
The only bad news? You’re going to have to wait until next season hear her on the animated series.
When I caught up with THE CLEVELAND SHOW co-creators Rich Appel and Mike Henry (who also voices Cleveland, Rallo and others), they shared some details on who the PARKS & RECREATION star will play and when she’ll be be popping up on the show…
THE PLAYBOY CLUB Series Preview
September 19, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
THE PLAYBOY CLUB opens its doors tonight — and I was a little surprised to find myself enjoying it. I don’t really know a lot about the actual club, but the show immediately grabs you in with its distinctive era, tone and style.
Per NBC’s official description, “From Academy Award-winning executive producer Brian Grazer, THE PLAYBOY CLUB is a provocative new drama about a time and place that challenged the social mores, where a visionary entrepreneur created an empire and an icon changed American culture. It’s the early ’60s, and the legendary Playboy Club in Chicago is the door to all of your fantasies — and the key is the most sought-after status symbol of its kind. Inside the seductive world of the bunny, the epitome of beauty and service, the clientele rubs shoulders with the decade’s biggest mobsters, politicos and entertainers. Nick Dalton (Eddie Cibrian, “CSI: Miami”) is one of the city’s top attorneys and the ultimate playboy, rubbing elbows with everyone in the city’s power structure.
“With mysterious ties to the mob, Nick comes to the aid of Maureen (Amber Heard, “Zombieland”), the stunning and innocent new bunny who accidentally kills the leader of the Bianchi crime family. Dating Nick is Carol-Lynne (Laura Benanti, “Take the Lead”), a bombshell and established star at the club who knows her days as a bunny are numbered and finds herself continually at odds with Billy (David Krumholtz, “Numb3rs”), the club’s general manager.
“Adding to the charm of the Playboy club is Janie (Jenna Dewan Tatum, “American Virgin”), the carefree life of the party who is dating Max (Wes Ramsey, “CSI: Miami”), an overly protective bartender. Also starring are Naturi Naughton (“Fame”) and Leah Renee (“True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet”). In addition to Grazer (“A Beautiful Mind,” “American Gangster”), the executive producers on “The Playboy Club” include Chad Hodge (“Tru Calling”), Francie Calfo (“Scoundrels”), Jason Burns (“The House Bunny”) and Dick Rosenzweig (“Kendra”). Hodge also wrote the pilot, which was directed by Alan Taylor (“Mad Men,” “The Sopranos”). The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television.”

2 BROKE GIRLS Preview
September 19, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
2 BROKE GIRLS premieres tonight on CBS, scoring the plum post-TWO AND A HALF MEN slot for its series debut, and, well, there are cupcakes. (Yes, that is my main excitement about the show after watching the pilot.)
According to CBS, “2 BROKE GIRLS is a comedy about two young women who are down on their luck waitressing at a greasy spoon diner who strike up an unexpected friendship in the hopes of launching a successful cupcake business — if they can raise the cash. Kat Dennings plays the sassy, street-smart Max, and Beth Behrs plays the former uptown trust fund princess, Caroline.”

TWO AND A HALF MEN: Will You Be Tuning In Tonight?
September 19, 2011 by Marisa Roffman
Filed under #1 featured, Two and a Half Men
Despite TWO AND A HALF MEN being a ratings powerhouse, in its entire eight year run thus far, I’ve maybe watched 5 minutes of the series — and that was only in syndication as I was waiting for another show to start.
And yet…I’m planning on tuning in to the ninth season premiere tonight.
It’s bizarre and goes against my every instinct, but I find myself fascinated to see how the show will deal with the aftermath of the Charlie Sheen meltdown (and no, I’m not talking about what they do with his character, since that cat is pretty much out of the bag) and to see how Ashton Kutcher does returning to his sitcom roots.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Season 7 Preview: ‘The Best Man’ and ‘The Naked Truth’

While The CW was nice enough to give us a few of our favorite shows back a bit early, Fall TV really kicks off this week, and we couldn’t be happier.
Tonight, after much teasing and promising, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER kicks off its new season…and it seems Future Barney is having some wedding day doubts. While it’s not surprising the notorious womanizer might be a bit wary of a life-long commitment, I do wonder if his specific wording of the issue is going to be important down the line.
Take a look at the clips below of that, Robin and Barney sharing a steamy dance, as well as Marshall’s job-related panicking (from the second episode of the one-hour block) and then keep reading so we can discuss Barney’s dilemma…

Emmys 2011: Watch Kyle Chandler Win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama!

And it’s Coach Taylor for the win!
The Emmys emcee may have been borderline painful for most of the night, but his exclamation after FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS’ Kyle Chandler was announced the winner of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama was spot-on perfection.
Sure, in a dream world we would have loved to see Connie Britton and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS also take home Emmy gold so there could have been a sweep for the series in its final year — Jason Katims did take home gold for writing “Always,” the FNL series finale — but the win that arguably had us most excited Sunday night was the long-overdue recognition for Chandler.
